It was a great little place to stay for that "Blast from the Past" feel. The pool water was warm and exceptionally clean. The rooms and bathrooms were vey clean, except for the carpet, could use a good shampooing, but didn't really bother me, I used my flip flops. The bathrooms were a little outdated but refreshing as it was clean and had all the essentials for travel. Within walking distance to The Griddle. Staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was a nice little surprise with a nice variety of breakfast favorites for the whole family. This place has really gone downhill. We've probably stayed here 10 times. We kept coming back because it was clean and comfortable. Not anymore. The floor was so filthy in our room that my feet were black. I don't think they wipe down or dust anything between guests. Stairs are disgusting. Both soda machines broken. I think it's time to find a new place to stay on our trips to CA. read more

UPDATE: I left behind an expensive new pair of silk pajamas and they claim they couldn't find them. If you leave anything behind don't expect it back. I changed my star rating the front desk/maid honesty is terrible. I'm so frustrated unnecessarily! Don't let the dated outside sway you from staying at this hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. A microwave, refrigerator, Keurig, table with two chairs and desk. Plenty of tv channels with free movies, you can't stream your own apps but there are enough choices you aren't missing anything. The room is clean, pets are allowed for $15.00 per night. The staff is friendly and checkin was a smooth process. The free breakfast is not for the health conscious but you can grab a piece of fruit. read more

We have stayed at the Holiday Motel many, many times on our trips between CA and Utah. This time, however, it was markedly worse. There was absolutely no heat (if you turned on the heat, cold air blew out) and it was below freezing outside. I tried calling the front desk, but no one answered. The room was a "pet friendly" room and those are usually fine, but this time it reeked of a very odorous dog. The bathtub dripped very loudly all night and there were no tissues in the tissue holder. We will not be staying at the Holiday Motel again, sadly. read more

Exceeded expectations for a motel! I was promptly greeted by Kristin and checked in. It was 103 degrees outside when we arrived and I was worried about the A/C but the room was very cool. Room was very clean and included free WiFi, free breakfast, a large TV, Mini fridge, Keurig machine and actual glass water glasses. This may not seem like a big deal but in the era of COVID even the Hilton in Omaha had plastic glasses. I appreciate that the motel is dog friendly and the pet fee was reasonable. Kristin directed me to areas to walk my dogs and it was included on a print out at check in. The motel had a list of local restaurants served by Door Dash as well as a list of local restaurants they recommended and directions. I love the attention to detail and wish other places did something similar. Don't let the word motel or building exterior scare you away as this place is great! I was worried about booking since many of the more expensive options were booked but I am pleased with the place and would recommend it! The only drawback is the floor boards are squeaky so if you are on the first floor you will hear the people above. read more

We spent the night here on our way to Reno. We got in after the normal check-in hours and were told to ring the bell. It only took a minute for someone to come out and check us in. We brought dogs and knew this was a pet-friendly motel. The room didn't smell like dogs had been in there, so they obviously keep things very clean. The room was nice, the shower was hot and there was a grass area along the side for the dogs to do their business. There was even a rack with plastic bags to clean up with. Lots of motels in the area, we chose this one because of the reviews. so we paid a little more and I actually feel like I got ripped off for paying over $150 after tax....for a note...in Winnemucca. We got two queen beds. I have a queen bed at home and I can tell you that these were not queen beds. More like full beds. To top it off, when I went to get coffee in the morning, there was only one cup. (but two lids). In todays climate this does not exactly give you the feeling of "attention to detail" when it comes to the housekeeping. I have stayed in this hotel several times in the past in my travels. I booked my reservation through Expedia, booking a pet friendly room. I was checked in by a pleasant, efficient young man who was very professional. He initially was placing me in to a non pet room but I clarified that I was traveling with two small dogs. He was going to charge me the $15 pet fee which I've paid in the past. However, a VERY rude middle age woman who described herself as the manager interrupted us and demanded "you must pay the pet fee for each dog". I responded that I've never had to pay for both in the past and that I had read on the booking website that there was only a $15 pet fee. She was rude, disrespectful and all she could say was "you can stay somewhere else". I tried to reason with this woman and explained that my dogs stay in crates during my visit and do not bark or disrupt at all. This experience will make me reconsider if I want to stay in this hotel again, even though this nice budget hotel ($150 after tax and fees) was overall just fine except the customer service was severely lacking. I later learned that this employee is leaving in two weeks. I thank the young man for his help. He was clearly embarrassed by her actions. I wish there was a manager above her or an owner that I could voice my displeasure with her, but, it was suggested that a Yelp review would do more good. We stopped headed to Boise. The front desk called to see if we were still coming. Odd but nice. She was super kind when we arrived and gave us a recommendation and coupon for dinner right across the street. The room on the 2nd floor is nice sized, the beds were comfortable. We paid $10 extra for our pet. It was all clean with your usual toiletries and a hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Our room had a microwave and refrigerator as well. Just found out they hit us with a $75 extra charge on top of the $10 pet fee because we didn't check out at the front desk before we left. Apparently this is the protocol but they didn't tell us. We made contact with them and they told us the room was "destroyed" by our dog. They said she peed all over the room and they had to release bombs in the room and clean the carpets because the odor was so bad. Our 5 month old lab doesn't run the room, but was crated since it was unfamiliar space for her. When we arrived, she did have a small accident on the carpet right at the door. I brought white towels and a carpet cleaner with us to clean up and possible mishaps (spray bottle). I cleaned the spot immediately and the towels were black with dirt. The balance of the visit, I wore flip flops and could barely sleep with the awful old smells in the room. It was disgusting! My mind kept wondering the whole night with questions about how clean the bedspreads were, etc. I would also like to note that upon arrival, I used half of a can of Lysol spray and a ton of antiseptic wipes to clean the room. That room in NO WAY smelled when we left, except for the old residual scent we could not mask. Our dog used the dedicated grass area outside and a blue dog pee pad on the tile floor in the bathroom. The dog did not destroy this room! Needless to say, it is our word against theirs, and we will be reporting our issues to Hotels.com. We travel to Idaho often and will never be staying here in the future. For $75 they have unleaded this review, as well as other social media outlets and word of mouth. Don't stay here! It's a scam! Here is a photo of the 25 pound puppy that "destroyed" the hotel that took 2 days to fix! Ps. My son's white socks were black with dirt within minutes of walking across the carpet. read more

I called to check on rates and Ashley who was very professional and present helped me all the way through checking in. They were the most inexpensive place for the night. I was very happy I stayed. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked very well. So you're asking yourselves. Why then only 4 stars. The bed was a bit way too firm for my liking. This is a very special place folks! Stayed here many times after the first time about 4 years ago. I go there with my family, the service is over the top, smiles from everyone. The breakfast is awesome, the room is spotlessly clean. The lobby has many things to help you on your trip like a table covered with lists of local restaurants and stores. And not one of those that some salesman gets places to put in it. We are talking a personal hand made one by the owner with directions and broken down into styles of food and that sort of thing. Stopped for the night to break up our trip home after camping. What a hidden gem! We were late getting in and called to let them know; the lady who I talked to was so nice and reassuring. Pet friendly. They have a bit of grass for the dogs and it was clean. The room was fantastic! All we wanted was a hot shower and clean, comfortable bed! The shower was hot and the complimentary products were very nice. The beds were clean, pillows good, and linen clean and comfortable. No pet smell. No ragged furniture or carpet! Dog friendliness brought us here, so Huck the Wonder Dog could have a roof over his head. Little did I know how popular this place would be on a Wednesday night. There might be a parking spot left. Thank goodness for reservations. No wonder the hotel called earlier this evening to make sure we we were still arriving. The drive from Craters of the Moon can stretch out, especially when it includes a stop in downtown Twin Falls, which is a great place for a bite to eat, a walk around town and unique shops to peruse. Watch out for the kitchen store, though, unless you have someplace in your vehicle to stash more stuff. Besides absolutely everything for the kitchen that you probably never realized you needed, there are wines, beers and cheeses galore. Anyway, we were happy to arrive through the summer rain to the Holiday, and the second to last parking spot. The pool was closed for safety. The thunderstorms were bringing in plenty of lightening. We Oppenheimer the door to the room to air it out a bit - the scent of odor-remover was strong - as we unloaded luggage. The loss of the pool was assuaged with two for one martinis from the Winnemucca Inn across the street, using coupons from the Holiday Motel. It was a comfortable night, a very clean bathroom with separate, although small, sink area between the closet and the bath and toilet room. The door is open again this morning to greet the bright, fresh Winnemucca morning. The black lab next door beat us out of here, but we won't be long behind. The room is nice enough to linger, with coffee and banana nut muffins from the office. Huck is saying with his eyes, "Don't you remember? I always get a muffin!" read more

This motel was pretty much just what you would expect a motel to be. Aside from a cold breakfast bar, not much in the way of amenities. Rooms are clean and reasonably comfortable. There are several stores and restaurants within walking distance. If you are movement impaired, be sure to ask for a first floor room as there is no elevator to the second floor and the stairs are rather steep. We stopped here one night while traveling cross-country. It was very clean, quiet, inexpensive and convenient. The clerk we spoke to on the phone when we were having a bit of trouble finding it was so friendly, helpful and polite as she gave us directions and stayed on the line until we drove in the driveway. She then gave us a fabulous recommendation for a restaurant within walking distance just across the street, the "Garden Cafe" located in the Winnemucca Inn. They had the best salad bar! Definitely go there and check out the salad bar before ordering. You could very well decide you would be more than satisfied with just that! read more
