The rooms we stayed in were old but they were very clean. However, the cafe (Grand cafe) (Garden cafe) whatever they call there on site cafe..... we had a new server, aggravating but understandable. Our experience was extremely disappointing. The room we were given was dirty and smelly, with stains on the carpet and bed skirts. Although we had requested a pet-friendly room, I don't think urine stains, lingering odors, and fleas are acceptable--especially when paying good money for a stay. The walls were dirty, and the furnishings were very outdated, which only added to the unpleasant atmosphere. When we voiced our concerns, the front desk offered us the only other available pet-friendly room, but it was even worse. Their only solution was to spray the carpet with cleaner to mask the smell, which was hardly reassuring. We were exhausted, but I was ready to leave, even if it meant losing the money for the night. However, a kind staff member noticed we were upset and came over to ask if there was a problem. I showed her the room, and her immediate reaction was that it smelled terrible. She went to the front desk and, surprisingly, managed to find a more acceptable room for us--one she personally checked before offering it. They claimed it had just become available due to a cancellation, but considering the hotel was maybe a quarter full, I found that hard to believe. In the end, we stayed because we were tired and the new room, while still dated, at least didn't smell. My advice: if you're traveling with a pet, look for another place to stay. Even if you're not, I'd recommend a different hotel, as I found the staff to be less than honest. The hotel next door looked much better, and the helpful staff member even suggested we stay there next time. read more

We have enjoyed staying here for decades....but will no longer choose this as a stopping point. The Winnemucca Inn website states it is "a first-class luxury experience at an affordable price". It is not. Something has happened and it has been going downhill for a while. It would better be described as the "Hit and Miss Hotel". The front entrance area outside does not rise up to welcome you. Sidewalks and porte-cochere are dirty and grimy. We stayed in room 204. Sheets and towels were clean. Bed was comfortable, although pillow smelled slightly like an old man. Carpets are very, very stained with debris along walls. There were four bloody Q-tips in the garbage can. Three short hairs in the bathroom. The return air-vent was dirty and the air register has deposited dirt and grime along the top of the wall/ceiling. Dinner at the Garden Cafe (nothing about it reminds you of a garden) was not very good, so we chose not to eat breakfast there...and instead went to The Griddle across and down the street. It was delicious! Every management person and employee at the Winnemucca Inn could benefit from watching and implementing ideas and procedures from the TV episodes of Hotel Impossible, Restaurant Impossible and Bar Rescue. This place could be awesome again....but until that happens skip this stop. read more

We have stayed here many times over the years and it's always been a great stop-over for us. However, it's been a few years and I'm not sure if they are under new management or ownership but it was a totally different experience than usual and not for the better. The non-smoking room was so smoky from the casino I was up coughing all night. The thermostat didn't work so we ended up sleeping with the window open as the room was extremely hot even when set at 60 degrees. The drain in the shower didn't work so ended up standing in many inches of water. Management did not respond. Ended up leaving at 5AM because we couldn't get out of there fast enough. Sadly can no longer recommend and we will be find a new place to stay when we're passing through. read more

Unknowingly, I slept in a bed with a large menstrual blood stain right in the middle of the sheet! Not changing the sheets between guests is absolutely disgusting! Any maid could have seen this! Since I am handicapped I had trouble getting under the blankets and did not see it myself until the following morning. read more

With deep regret, I am forced to write this. Everyone had high hopes for the remodel. Unfortunately, 4 out of 5 are not impressed. Though I feel the remodel is beautiful in a modern/ vintage classic sort of motif, unfortunately, the food is not. With that, one of my classic favorites, the French Dip, you have to be completely incompetent to screw this up. The beef was dry, lacking any sort of flavor, served on an over toasted bun. Partnered with absolutely no sauce and a brown water Au'jus. I would chalk it up to being busy, but you could hear crickets. It was that empty. Food for thought. No pun intended, how about some nice music that would help, then you would not hear the waitresses being snide about the customers! On top of it, a couple of weeks ago, my friend was charged 17.99 for a one time through salad bar? When questioning the waitress, she just said that's the price and walked off. Super friendly....not! I'm not sure why they have kept the old staff, because they lack any customer service skills or personality except the sweet, shorter blonde! We were all hoping that maybe with the change, they would offer employees more incentive financially and recruit some appropriate wait staff. Yes, the pickings are slim, but with the right motivation, anything is possible. The moral of the story is that you can put lipstick on a pig , but at the end of the day, it's still a pig! Don't ! I repeat don't use this ATM near front desk. Did a withdrawal for some vacation spending money, and NO CASH recieved. 2 employees watched the transaction fail, they called the management in charge. Response useless told me it will reverse in 30 minutes it didn't, ok it will reverse overnight still didn't. Next morning RUDE MANAGER gave me piece of paper showing it was declined and now it is my banks problem to fix. Well after contacting my bank...I now need to file a report with EVERI ATM. In 7 to 10 days I might get it refunded. Employees informed me this just happened to someone else last week. Why is this machine still being used when you have been made aware it is faulty. I returned to this casino yesterday afternoon. Was met with a kind and eager check in process. Once in the room...we were pleased with the size and cleanliness of each and every feature. Especially the large bathroom, shiny clean and the vanity area separate. Both bath and vanity area positively gleamed. Beds were comfortable and beautifully appointed. Complete with Direct TV access and convenient power outlets for charging our phones. The pool and area were very clean and supplied towels were provided expressly for pool use. We had a delectable dinner in the restaurant. From the pork chop smothered in gravy to a bowl of cauliflower soup...very tasty. My daughter played Penny machine for a long while and I was treated to a free drink. All in all another surprisingly good experience at the Winnemucca Casino. I recommend it if you happen to stop for the night in Winnemucca. read more

I do not recommend the Winnemucca Inn restaurant. They have a point of sale system that allows a patron to pay at the table by scanning a QR code on your receipt. I utilized their system on 3/7/23, told my server I had paid via the QR code. She acknowledged my comment and I left. As I was in their parking lot , the server and the manager ran after me telling me "I had forgot to pay" (politically correct for stealing). So I returned showed them the transaction on my phone showing that I had paid. Their system failed them! When I later told the manager that I would not have been upset if they had told me their system had malfunctioned and not accused me of walking off I would of been understanding. It is the thinly veiled you stole your food that will keep me from never ever going there again. read more

We stayed in a beautiful family room. There were two queen beds and one king bed. There was one shared large bathroom. It was wonderful to have all the extra space since our family was with us. The room was very clean and updated. It's in a building separate from the casino, so you don't have to worry about the casino and the smell of cigarettes. There is plenty of parking. The location is convenient to everything in Winnemucca. The best part is they allow pets which is very important to us we wouldn't hesitate to stay again. read more

It's a fairly basic hotel and a little bit dated, but it was exceptionally clean and seemed to be very well maintained. It's not the Ritz, but it's a good value for the money. Stayed here one night, the last night of a two week road trip. It was the most expensive place we stayed and the least worth it. The bed, sheets etc were ok, but the air conditioner made a groaning noise every-time it kicked it. And the water in the shower was next to impossible to to turn on. When a person is tired and half naked you don't want to have to call maintenance. After working on the handle finally got water. It was a disappointing stay for sure especially for the price. I've stopped here now several times during travel to get a decent meal. Their fettuccini alfredo with chicken NEVER DISAPPOINTS! Their soups are also very delicious. Robert was very friendly and helpful and the only reason my review is not one star. The room was absolutely disgusting. Giant black mold stains from floor to ceiling and yellow crust on the sheets. This is a very clean hotel, better than some more expensive hotels we have stayed at. They have several rooms on ground level with sliding doors out to parking area. The outdoor pool and hot tub was very clean. Also it is attached to the casino (very clean), and a restaurant that had wonderful food. I got the chicken fettuccine , and even the sauce was made fresh. Great salad bar. An added plus was I made over $700, in the 2 times we stopped here. We stopped on the way, and on the return trip from Yellowstone. The staff was friendly, and very helpful. No Starbucks in this town but a nice coffee shop within walking distance, but Starbucks coffee in room. read more

Motel portion of this property is OK. Rooms are well-appointed though water pressure is iffy and there is a whiff of stale cigarette smoke, even in a non-smoking room. At the coffee shop I thought I had the COVID, as I couldn't taste my food and my nose was runny. So for what I needed, this place was adequate. Wifi is terrible in the building out by the pool. I moved a night stand to get to a plug in for my phone charger and found a mountain of discarded beer bottle caps and other trash. I got no housekeeping service at all while here. If by "pet friendly rooms" you mean smells like dog piss, then this is your place. There must have been 40gallons of dog piss in this room, i couldnt even sleep. I tried spraying cologne, burning incense, but nothing worked the smell permeated through all of it. Ive brought my own pets on trips before and stayed in pet friendly rooms, none of which were as dirty and disgusting as this place. I know its Winnemucca and not the Four Seasons, but this was ridiculously disgusting. Ended up sleeping in my truck down the road. I evem tried spraying cologne all over one of the pillow cases, wrapped that around my head, but the dog piss smell still came through after about 15 min. In all actuality, the dog piss smell may have saved my life as i might have asphyxiated from having my head covered while sleeping or trying to. read more

The staff was extremely rude from the moment I walked into the lobby to check in as well as over the phone and after checking out and coming back a few days later to attempt to retrieve shoes that were left in the hotel room. The room had a horrible moldy smell and the AC added to the smell, even with opening all of the windows it was strong through the night. Plus, to make it even worse the house cleaning staff stole my step daughters shoes and when we called, the woman never got back to us and so we went back in the next day and she claimed the shoes were no where to be found even though we know that is where they were left. Overall I'm extremely disappointed, I would recommend the days inn across the street which had nicer rooms and better staff despite not having all the bells and whistles on its exterior. read more

When I pointed out the deficiencies of the wifi and the ice machine, the assistant manager on duty insisted it was the fault of ATT, not the inn. She also claimed the ice machine was not their fault having ordered one two months previously and wanted to explain to me the predicaments of the pandemic rather than making the situation right. Winnemucca Inn was just what the doctor ordered. We pulled into town on our way home from Park City in the middle of a snow storm, and were just too tired to go on. They were wonderful about allowing our little dog without any hassle. They had everything we needed on site - the food at the restaurant wasn't bad, either, - there was even an old-fashioned salad bar a la 1970. Our room had two queen beds plus (oddly) three recliners, a large bathroom, and a fridge. It was all clean and comfy, and there was a large area for our dog to roam a bit just outside our back door (I'm guessing it would have been grassy if it wasn't covered in snow!). read more

This was a great place to stay in Winnemucca. The room was clean and large. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and the waitress in the casino was very quick with drinks. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because it was VERY smokey inside. The hotel looks like it is set back from the street, however when we got to our room on the second floor, we found our window was very close to a busy road. One of the two beds really sunk in. Both needed new mattresses. The shower shot out in a hard, warm and circular stream. There was an anteroom off the bath with a second sink for dressing. That was the nicest part of the room. My family and I stay here when passing Thur. We have pets that travel and this place is pet friendly. But the last few tim s the pet rooms seemed unclean and I could never put my finger on why. It had clean sheets, towels, and so on but something was off. Well I figured it out on this last trip. It was the carpets. Thru either put new carpets in the rooms or had them cleaned. It's amazing.
