My room, #6, had a heater and an air conditioner. Didn't use either one. Everything was clean. Microwave worked as did the fridge. Being away from the main drag in Winnemucca is good. Plenty of parking met the owners and other staff. All were nice people. Bed could be replaced. Mattress is getting very soft. Fast hot water and plenty of it. Just an old simple motor-hotel from the 1950's getting a life extension into the 2025 and beyond years. No smoke problems like the casino properties. Had a great meal at the Martin Hotel nearby. read more

NEGATIVE 5 stars This Town House Motel is the worse place to stay at.. came up here for work and looking around this was the best price online. I booked a full month thinking I wasn't going to find anything better but once I came up I started doing my research and found a better deal.. went from 4k a month to finding a deal for 1k a month. At this point I checked out of this place and asked for the remaining to be refunded and they said they would so I believed them and continued. 4-5 business days later and still haven't received my refund. Called to see what's up and owner is playing games with refund. So now I had to dispute it with the booking agency so after 13 days of waiting for nearly 3k in return I'm just going to look out for fellow travelers and give them an eye opener. This place is old, outdated, smells, has old rugs and beds, shower heads are crazy because the water sprays everywhere and on top of all that the owner is price gouging all the travelers and that's not right.. be aware and call around because you will find a way better deal this is run down place!! read more

Been staying here twice a year for over six years. Be aware that all the five star reviews (including mine) are from previous owners. I've watched this place fall to ruin over time. My last stay was my last. The rooms have always been dated, but they were clean. Now they're just filthy. The pool hasn't been open in years. You can cut the smoke in the front office. Last time I stayed, they gave me the key to a room that hadn't been cleaned yet. In the second room they gave me, the heater wasn't working and there was used soap from the previous guests in the shower. I know everything changes- but, they had something nice here and they just let it go to pieces. read more

Cleanliness. It was mostly disgusting and in some areas filthy. The reviews were based on 4-8 year old glowing reviews under different owners. It is not maintained well, everything was just off but I did NOT find bedbugs. I had prepaid but had I not, I would have left PDQ. I had a 3 night stay. It was rundown, sheets and towels were thin and quite used. Visible crud, hair, wrappers behind visible cabinets and base board junctions. Filthy carpet with visible big stains, bath tile floor just as disgusting. Toilet was stained and dirty under the rim and visible. Horrible chips of soap, no tissues in the box, used bar soap on top of shower sliding doors. Room had a not good musty smell upon entering. The air conditioning was good. Shower head was funky but plenty of hot water but generally not a good shower experiance. Lime scale buildup in the tub, you could tell it hasn't had good cleaning. Tile floor in the bath was creepy dirty. No maid service for 3 days, the whole stay but there were plenty of towels. Generally it was nothing like the glowing reviews posted at the top of the list. People- read the newest reviews always, this was my mistake, big mistake. The glowing reviews were from 4-8 years ago under different owners. I like vintage hotels but I draw the line at cleanliness. It can be old and dated but needs to be in good repair including towels, sheets, coverlets, pillows. I found these to be thin and showing sign of heavy use. I have a great fear of Bed Bugs as one of the reviews stated they found. I checked the mattress and found no evidence of BB ( new mattress) but the first night I didn't sleep well because of the BB review( fairly recent review but listed under all the good dated reviews) . Reviews had been very good. We reserved for one night through Expedia. This place was dirty and unsafe. I could handle a dirty trash can, broken furniture, stained sink, but I cannot get into a dirty bed with bugs. The smoke detector was broken. We did not stay, left and found another motel. Got home from our trip and have been charged for two nights. Although we reserved through Expedia with a card, they claim no liability for the Motel double charging us, even though they have had multiple complaints of this happening. Only needed to stay for the night for work, so I was not hard stuck on amenities or extra fluff, just needed a room. While the location is in a convenient spot close to the main road through town, the stay was overall disappointing. I woke up on the morning of my departure and noticed bed bugs under the comforter. I looked around more and saw some of the bed bugs were under my pillow too. Now I have to debug all of my gear and clothes. Plus the walls were incredibly thin I could practically hear the person on the other side lightly snoring or hear them watching TV. read more

Beware! I stayed one night. The room did not seem clean - dusty, had something like dried leaves on the table, used washcloth in the shower, towels soiled with black and brown streaks even though they were folded. Worst, I discovered and extra $100 charge and when I asked about it, I was told it was incurred because the bed cover and mattress had urine on it! I know that I did not do that, so, this means I slept in a soiled bed. Owner has been unresponsive - will not call me or respond to my calls. Shady regardless of the situation because I was charged for something I didn't do and if there was urine on the bed, then I slept in that bed! read more

This place is a blast from the past, and worth the money. Our king room was $90, which was $100 LESS than Holiday Inn Express! Very worth the savings. As soon as we walked in, we could tell the room was very clean. Comfortable bed, AC worked just fine, and quick/easy check-in and check-out. Perfect for a stopover on a road trip. Yes, the shower heads are a bit wonky, but it worked. Soon after we checked in, their No Vacancy sign lit up, so people are figuring out that you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for a decent night's sleep. Glad we took the "risk" of staying in a vintage place. If we're ever back through Winnemucca, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

The man who checked me in was friendly but wasn't wearing a mask, just a face shield. The price for this motel was very reasonable, but you get what you pay for. Our blinds didn't close entirely so anyone could peak into our room. The pillows were so thick and hard I thought I might break my neck using it; I ended up using no pillow. Also, the walls are incredibly thin. If you're looking for a quick stay passing through Winnemucca (which was us), it's fine for a cheap night. read more

Found this motel on hotels.com. It had pretty good reviews even though it looked pretty dated. We arrived and my husband wanted to know why this motel as it looked a bit sketchy. I told him it had a review of 8.2 on hotels.com which was a decent score. The guy at the counter checking me in was very nice. Check in took about 5 minutes. Parking was a bit tight when the motel got filled up. Our room was nice for the price of $85. Beds were comfortable. Nice tv. Bathroom was a bit small and sink was in with the toilet vs on the outside so as someone was taking a shower, others can wash their face and brush their teeth. Water pressure in the shower was great, felt like a little message. Towels were cheap and rough. The only thing we were concerned about was the motel door lock. It was a regular lock, with no dead bolt on the outside you could activate. It was something you were able to kick in if someone wanted to. Still for 1 night, it was a decent place for the price. read more

Older motel and moss deff not fancy but still comfy. Parking is limited but convenient if you can get a spot near your room. Location is very convenient as it is walking distance to food. Check in was fast and easy. We did have an issue with our toilet being plugged and when my sister called to ask for assistance the lady in the front office said "well come and get the plunger" ok! No biggie, we are all adults and can unplug our own toilet but geeez. Shower is super small! Was a bit hard to find help at the front desk when we were contacting them about a medical device that was suppose to be waiting in the office. Also, we stayed at a nicer hotel on our way back through Winnemucca that almost for the same price as this motel offered breakfast. One last thing worth mentioning is you can not keep your door open as the lights right outside the door attract every weird bug in town. We had bugs in our bed when we went to sleep. read more

For the reasonable price, yes, as good as it gets. Very clean, walls looked freshly painted, carpet looked new, absolutely no aromas. True, an older building, but with all the amenities (Wi-Fi, hair dryer, soap & shampoo, iron & board, mini-fridge, microwave, coffee pods, flat screen, and clock radio). The bathroom was a little cramped for me but also very clean. The air conditioner worked quite well, albeit a bit noisy. It was cool enough that I turned it off before going to sleep and was comfortable all night. Did I mention how clean it was? That makes it a real value and will get my repeat business. read more

On June 18, 2011, after our first day of two weeks on the road, we checked into the Town House Motel, an extremely well maintained motel just off the main street in Winnemucca. Annie Smith, the owner, checked us in and was very nice and helpful. Then came the room, which was extremely clean, and it's bath, complete with original 1950s tike, was spotless, including all the tile grout. The grounds were also very well kept, reflecting true pride in ownership and proving that you don't have to be a five-star hotel to get five stars on Yelp. Warning - if you decide to walk around town, think twice, especially on side streets where mostly unfenced vicious dogs rule. Even if you plan to eat near wherever you stay in Winnemucca, drive there; you'll be glad you did. read more

The parking lot is full, the pool is clean and bright... "not pictured on website " no cars in the lot. Dirty covered pool. Absolutely misrepresented! Fake and lies. This is a scam. All the pictures are from 5+ years ago. This is scam period. Everyone should know these people are scammers that are misrepresenting themselves for profit. I chose this motel based on previous positive reviews and was delighted I had a similar experience. I have stayed here 2 times over the last 6 months and will continue to do so on my next travels. It's an older motel (what motel isn't) but it's clean, comfortable, quiet and very reasonably priced. They also allow my dog to stay in the room with me for a nominal fee. There aren't any frills but that's not what is important to me. I also feel safe staying there. The new owners are super sweet and will make you feel welcome. They are also genuinely thankful that you chose to stay at their motel. There are many other options in the area for accommodations but I'm so glad I discovered this little gem. This is a small, older motel (think 50s). Eva) appears to have been recently remodeled/updated. Nice carpet with cushy padding beckons you to walk around barefoot. Bathroom vanity updated; old, small tub, but the low shower head was remedied by the remodel with an aftermarket height adjustment. Water is H-O-T, and varies with water pressure, so be careful in there.... Desk staff were quite polite and friendly. Eric G's review covers most of the rest. Tucked away off the main street in Winnemucca, this is a fantastic little motel. It doesn't look fancy, but the rooms are very clean and functional - much cleaner than some of the chain hotels we'd stayed in so far. A king room was $84 including taxes. We were able to check in early, which was great since it was very hot out - the owner even offered to get the cleaning equipment out of the pool so we could use it right away. The AC was quiet and efficient, and the wifi worked without any problems. Once it cooled down, it was a nice walk around town, and the next morning, just a step across the street to the Griddle. We'd paid up front, so it was just a drop of the keys in the box -- saw the owner on our way out and complimented him on the stay. read more

Motel worker digging up dirt outside our window before 7 am! After arriving after a late night, I was awoken by the sound of thumping at 6:45 am. Opened the bathroom window and beheld an old man with a white long beard digging with a shovel near the window (possible father of Hotel Manager/Owner?). I don't know if he spoke English, but I said, "Really, do you have to do that right now?" because the man continued to make his thumping sounds with the shovel. Is this a new way to get guests to leave? This is an old motel in which one can park quite near one's room though very limited on parking lot space. All single level rooms at this motel so one doesn't have to worry about upstairs noise. Not enough wash clothes or hand towels in room for 4 people though we declared 4 people were arriving in our reservation. The showerhead is placed super high for much taller people. The place is clean enough (but had some stains on carpet) though does need a little more interior updating such as getting rid of the really cheap white laminate armoire. The A/C is too noisy for my comfort level. We cancelled our future visit after getting woken up too early by someone who works at the motel. read more

We saw a previous review claiming guest from three months previous came away with a case of bedbugs. We'd like to state clearly - Town House motel does NOT have bedbugs. This hotel is the least expensive in town and was cleaner than the last Intercontinental I stayed in. It is spotless, has super fast WiFi and the owner even prayed for us as we drove out. We recently stayed here, based on other Yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint! This retro motel was everything we needed for a one night stay. I was leary upon checking in, because we could plainly hear the tv from next door. However, the motel was quiet all night even though it was full. Amenities include coffee maker, frig and microwave! You don't find that in hotels where you pay much more. Comfy King beds in every room! Great breakfast place around the corner- that's another review The Griddle. This is without a doubt the worst place to stay! It was great when the previous owners were there. First we get there only to find out the pool was closed because it needed repairs. We should have been notified of that when the reservations were made. 2nd The front desk gave us the wrong room. We got that taken care of only to find we had no wash clothes. We had to call and request fresh towels every morning. The first morning a man brought one towel and one hand towel and there were 2 of us. The towels were dirty and he said he'd be back with clean wash clothes and never came back. My bed looked as if it had been slept in but the sheets hadn't been changed. The sheets were not tight on the bed like when you first make it. They never came in our room to make the beds and tighty up. There was dog poop everywhere on the lawns. The 2nd night we got back late because we had been working at the fair. Our key didn't work because the front desk coded it for one night instead of 3.
