Okay, I will admit when my husband first said this is where we were staying on the first night of our trip I was worried and a little sketched out. We like to travel on a budget, so we tend to stay at locally owned, cheaper motels - after extensive research on which ones are halfway nice! Even up until pulling up to the parking lot I was inclined to drive to the Best Western down the road. We went inside to check in and wow, what fantastic service! The owner was super welcoming and helpful! She assured us she was there if we were to need anything any time during our stay. Upon walking into our room I was impressed but how clean everything was. The room definitely smelled like it was cleaned throughly. The basic amenities were provided, shampoo, conditioners and soap. The bed was awesome. We got upgraded to a king for free, and it was super comfortable. I slept like a baby! It all came out to about $80.00. You just can't beat that! The location was great. We were basically downtown, close to a lot of restaurants and casinos if you're into that. If you a camper or RV, and there's no room in the parking lots they'll let you park it at the Fast Eddie's gas station across the road that they also own. I would definitely recommend the Regency Inn to anyone needing to stay in Winnemucca! read more

Stay away. The management charged me $300 a night ( after taxes)for an 80 buck hotel room at best. Said a ' dog show ' left one room vacant so they decided to engage a gouge price policy. They called it ' capitalism', I call it price gouging. And they were rude after I questioned the price. Stupidly, I was too tired to drive to the next town an hour away and didn't want to risk an accident. These are not innkeepers, they are price gougers that took advantage of a weary traveler. read more

Nothing fancy; I would for sure stay here again. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but there's a pride of ownership clearly evident by how the rooms are maintained. The beds were very comfortable. The showers were nice. The curtains appear to be custom made by the owner and add a very nice touch. Good parking for a trailer. Very friendly person welcomed us and got our rooms quickly so we could go next door and grab some food and get a good night's sleep. read more

Seemed clean BUT WRONG was woken up at 6:00 am being eaten by BED BUGS. Got out of there as fast as possible but since we are moving across country all our stuff was in the room. Sadly we are now having to cleaning and Drying all that we can but it's going to make us worried for the rest of the trip east. Hope the Regency Inn cleans this up other wise it will be spreading to everyone who stays there. Please don't stay if you don't want a BED BUG probably being brought everywhere you go or home. To actually find a BED BUG is rare usually you get bit but to actually see it means there are possible 1000s. Worried rooms around could easy have them also. Wish the owners luck the only good thing was they were very nice. One start for that. Other wise wish I could give negative stars because this will negatively effect the trip for weeks to come. read more

I am extremely disopleased with the customer service at this hotel in winnemucca nv. I had booked this room for my fiancée who is traveling with a young child and service animal. When arrived to check in she was met with hostility regarding her service animal. The management was abrupt and unprofessional. This is a violation of federal law and discrimination. A formal complaint has been filed with the booking agency and will be filed on the federal and state levels. If they wish to improve then they need to make themselves privy of the laws protecting service animals and their handlers. read more

The worse, Customer Service EVER... the rooms smelled like BLEACH, the bedding smelled so bleachy , it burned my eyes, we asked for a restroom when we arrived, they told us to use the gas station across the street, but right next door was a casino, Never again, AAA will be hearing about this place they recommended, we asked for ajoining rooms, they were on 2 separate floors, the Noise in the intersection was all night long. read more

The proprieters are service oriented people who seem to care a great deal about their business and are very reasonably priced...about half that of the Best Western down the street. Of course you don't get grass, cupcakes or a pool/jacuzzi, but you do get a room with a TV, fridge, big bathroom, and bathtub (all we really needed). We love that it was right next to the Casino and Garden Cafe inside, open 24 hours. Just steps away from the hotel meant I could play poker machines while my friend went to the room to watch football. Cons...the mattress had seen better days and was floppy, and there was a weird (old smoke?) smell when we entered the room that either disappeared or we got used to. The 4 stars is based on a hotel-motel experience not by "Best Western" standards. It was a good deal for the price and we loved the proprieters. read more

This rating less reflects quality than it does value. Room decor and building exterior are a little dated, but it's a clean room that was safe, warm and functional. If you're a traveler looking for a place to crash after a day on the road, this is as good as it gets. read more

Love this Hotel. I travel with my Disabled mom thru Winnemucca every couple months. We always stay at the Regency Inn. We can park right in front of our room which is a big Plus. The double queen rooms have plenty of space to get around and we Love the fridge, micro, coffee maker and bottled water in our room. BEWARE .... The reason that I had chosen to stay here was their add said "every room has a private balcony". The rooms don't have balconies at all. Also room #120 doesn't have proper electrical wiring. What they have is an extension cord coming from another room running through the wall where the headboards are. I told them that we needed an outlet for each bed for CPAPs. They handed me these two what looked like Dollar store extension cords and told me To run them into the bathroom. The extension cords were not UL tagged and looked like a potential fire hazard to me. I tried to photograph the extension cords and the owner took them and threw them over the railing so that I couldn't photograph them. We walked across the street and checked into a much nicer place for a couple of dollars more then the Regency Inn. The place that we ended up staying in was at least 3 stars better than the Regency Inn. I have to suspect that the good ratings that the Regency has had to have come from the owner's relatives. read more

It was a dark and stormy night... really! I hadn't intended to stop in Winnemucca but the snowstorm was SO terrible I did. And had a very pleasant surprise. The room rate was so reasonable I was worried before I got there that it might be a sketchy kind of a place but could see immediately that it was nice. The room was clean and large with new carpets, tiles and linens. The proprietors were friendly and welcoming. I had been feeling so vulnerable driving in that fierce early-in-the-season storm and it was so comforting to stop in a warm, safe and pleasant spot. I got a good night's sleep and was refreshed and ready to drive onward the next morning even though the weather was still challenging. read more

For 55 dollars what is there really to complain about. Clean, large room, and even a flat screen tv (which is rare for such a low rate). Great value. Clean. Needs some updates. But I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room. My only complaint was that there was not a fitted sheet on the King size bed. There was a mattress pad and flat sheet, but I had to readjust it once during the night. Beware! Online booking sites, Trip Advisor and Booking.com, list this location as "pet friendly" which it is not. All my Google searches began with "pet friendly" and this hotel came up. I would suggest always confirming with the actual hotel before purchasing an on-line reservation, because if they get it wrong, they will not refund your money. Fortunately, the lady behind the desk made an exception for us and allowed me to keep our dog with us in the room. It was late, and we were exhausted and frustrated and she made our day. This place is an excellent find! The owners are wonderful and the room was super clean and cozy. We came off the road after 16 hours of driving and got there after 1:00am, the owner woke up and happily checked us in. He even let us pay an extra fee to bring in our cat, we kept the cat in its kennel but we were happy he didn't have to stay in the car all night by himself. They had the heat on in the room for us, a couple water bottles, and there was a coffee pot, fridge, and microwave. This place was way nicer than a room we stayed in the night before that was double the cost! I highly recommend this little spot, and will stay again if I ever go through Winnemucca again. read more

We stayed here on our way back from California and booked it on Expedia.com. The staff was so friendly and concerned, it was very refreshing. The rooms were Victorian themed and they are very clean and well kept. The bed was very comfy, the TV had good channels, and the wifi was pretty good. Wonderful stay!!! read more

Room had fridge and microwave, 2 comfy reading chairs as well as an excellent king mattress for our old bones. My husband and I stopped here on our way from Salt Lake City to Burning Man. We were dead tired, and needed something affordable and clean. This place did not disappoint! Yes, it's an old motel and not super posh, but our room was very comfortable and clean. It was a great value and we got a good nights sleep. My flight was cancelled and they refused to give a refund. I was flying from Virginia to Reno NV and then driving to Winnemucca for 1 night as part of a road trip. My flight was cancelled so I could not get there and the hotel manager refused to give me a refund. Hotels.com even called him and they told them the same thing. Booked this motel off of Travelocity and the picture was a complete lie. If they have any rooms that look like the photo they aren't renting it out. The wallpaper border was peeling off and the walls were two different colors that did not even coordinate with the "fancy" curtains or the bed covers. Had to ask for towels at 9pm because I just assumed towels would be in the bathroom and there weren't any. I wish I would have chosen the Motel 6 - at least I would have saved $40 and probably had the same type of room. read more

For the price (~$60) it was fine; room was large & fairly clean, & they were quick to confirm the booking. They followed my request in the special instructions for a ground floor room without a problem. I appreciated the 24 hr availability (checked in around 2 am, gentleman was very pleasant & welcoming, check in was quick & painless). There was no fitted sheet on bed (flat sheet used instead) as another reviewer mentioned, but room did come with mini-fridge & microwave, also flat screen TV. Basic linens were provided. Pool was closed despite being height of summer & holiday weekend. The only problem I experienced was as I was loading my car prior to check out, the female property manager came & stood outside the motel room door (which I had cracked so my cat wouldn't run out into the pkg lot as I was loading); she saw him & said very loudly, "You have a cat? You didn't tell us you had a cat. WE DON'T ALLOW PETS!" I said that the website I booked on specifically stated pets were allowed, which was why I booked the room here, rather than the other 2 budget motels in town. Since the listing said pets were allowed, & there was no extra fee, I didn't realize I had to specifically disclose this. She then said it was an extra $10, which was not listed anywhere on the site. I recommended that perhaps they should make that adjustment to the booking sites so that may be updated, as I see I'm not the only reviewer this happened to. I felt she was rude & handled the issue poorly when it seemed to be a simple misunderstanding. Then she claimed I was stealing their stuff. She pushed her way past me into the room, walked through the unit, then told me to put their stuff back. I told her I didn't taking anything; I'd put all the towels in the bathtub as a courtesy (rather than leaving them strewn all over the room), as is common in higher-rate hotels to make it easier for the cleaning staff. She pointed to the plastic ice bucket, which I had in a plastic bag that also held the drinks I'd prev kept in the fridge. I told her I was using the bucket to get ice for my cold items before driving away. She stood right there while I finished loading. Then as I was settling the cat into the backseat, she came over AGAIN & said something to the effect of, 'You know other places, when you steal from them they just charge your CC, they don't even tell you.' I told her again that I didn't steal anything, & that after filling the sack w/ ice I put the stupid ice bucket back in the room. What does an ice bucket cost, $1? Honestly. It was just easier to use the ice bucket to fill the bag than my hands. I didn't care to deal w/ her again so once I'd finished loading, I gave the key to the kind gentleman who'd helped me at check in earlier; I also gave him the additional $10 for the pet fee (despite there being no disclosure of the fee). He looked at me & I said, 'For the cat.' He said thank you & that was that. He made no fuss nor accusation. All in all, I suppose it comes down to you get what you pay for. Sure, the rooms are dated, but the linens are clean & everything seemed to work fine (fridge, wall AC unit, etc.). I agree w/ Monica, the other reviewer RE: pets. I'm unclear on whether they do or do not allow pets, as it seems they do (per multiple booking sites say they do & other reviewer). I even called prior to booking but there was no answer), but after the fact they claim they don't accept pets. Best to call & confirm. I suppose I should have just booked elsewhere when there was no answer, but it was after 1 am & I was exhausted. Guess that was my error there. If allergic to pets, perhaps best to stay elsewhere, as I doubt with the level of cleaning I personally observed they do anything different w/ pet rooms vs. non-pet rooms. If you need a cheap place to crash that is a few mins from I-80, go for it. I wouldn't prefer to stay here for more than a single night, but it's great as a last-minute crash pad. read more

We stayed in a newly remodeled deluxe king room and it was amazing! Great price. Large room with separate tub/toilet/sink and then another sink and counter. Easy check-in, nice front desk woman. We were (after 10 days of travel and sleeping in random, mostly uncomfortable beds) delighted with the comfort of the bed. The best surprise of all was the TWO brand new recliners in the room! We will for sure stay here again whenever we come through. Also, The Griddle restaurant down the street was fabulous for breakfast!! read more

The bed was comfortable enough, and it was quiet enough, but the place was run down. The faucet handle fell off while using it, and the air conditioner controls on the wall did not work, so you had to reach under the grill to control the air conditioner. The owners were nice. Low end. All of the hotels in Winnemucca were full, no other options! This was the only one left. I paid $79 to stay there with kids. They did have 3 queen beds in the room, which was nice, I only asked for 2. The room was very low end, not clean, I was afraid to take my shoes off.
