What a great office . Been researching about removing my silver fillings and glad I found Dr. Z . Be careful with online videos when researching. Some are very outdated The process wasn't as bad as I thought. First step is they have you rinse with charcoal water and give you supplements to take . Then they cover you up and put some clear isolating devices in the tooth they are working on . It's was pretty cool cause it vacuumed while he was drilling it out so it doesn't get in my system . I like his emphasis on bite pattern (my translation is teeth alignment to match what's needed to not mess up jaw alignment). It was a new concept to me that previous dentist years ago didn't focus on. I have to spread the procedures over 4 years to do each quadrant, and for insurance caps. But after 3 quadrants so far, my bite pattern (biting down, left to right, front to back, movement) - it actually feels right and natural again. read more

Dentist and dental assistant were very nice and sympathetic. Clean office. Odd, strong, pungent, smell though probably essential oils. Himalayan Salt Crystal lamps in each room. According to the office, Holistically, be prepared to extract any root canals you've had done and get implants. Each implant is very expensive and adds up very quickly. Of course it depends on each patient if your root canals are infected etc. If I'm going to pay out-of-pocket for a regular ol' crown and hope to get reimbursed, then I'd rather go somewhere I know my insurance will cover it. I had a very disappointing experience at Holistic Dental Arts. Minutes before my tooth extraction, Dr. Z entered the room reeking of cigarette smoke. When I asked about it, he casually admitted that smoking has been his vice for decades. It was extremely unsettling--especially from someone claiming to practice holistic, health-focused dentistry. I regret moving forward with this procedure. On top of that, the way questions are handled in this office is disheartening. When I tried to ask about their procedures and techniques, I was met with condescending responses that made me feel dumb for simply wanting to understand what was being done to my body. It felt more fear-based than educational or empowering. Financially, the practice is just as frustrating. They'll quote you a seemingly reasonable estimate at first, but the final invoice is often packed with unexpected add-ons--ballooning the cost by $1,000 to $2,000. While I was given a small student discount, it didn't come close to making up for the experience. I came here expecting care grounded in transparency, compassion, and holistic values. Unfortunately, I left feeling the exact opposite. read more

Within the first 30 seconds of meeting Dr. Z he said "why do you have acne?" and then proceeded to press me with more questions about my skin. After seeing the uncomfortable look on my face, he pointed out that I looked "stressed out" and that I look like I "don't want to talk about my acne". Like really? After that he still didn't drop it and started to talk about an old patient who had acne (I did not ask). This was a consultation about a root canal extraction. I have no idea why he thought it would be appropriate to ask me that. I'm a 20 year old girl who was alone in his office expecting questions related to my appointment. I felt so anxious, unsafe, and insecure when he was questioning me about my acne. He then proceeded to say "but you're still very beautiful". So unprofessional and inappropriate. I don't care if he thinks he knows an underlying cause for my acne or if he thinks skin is connected to my oral health, he's not a dermatologist, acne is not in his scope of practice, and this was not okay. If I wanted his opinion on my skin condition or a derm recommendation from him then I would've asked. The rest of the consultation was fine. By the end of the appointment, I was so shaken that I started crying while a female staff member went over my treatment plan. She was incredibly kind to me, she got me water and really helped calm me down, I'm very grateful that she was there. But no patient should leave a dental consultation in tears. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this dentist, especially to young women. read more

My wife and I have gone to Holistic Dental Arts for our family dentistry for several years now. They do an extremely thorough job with cleanings. Chelsea is incredible as a dental hygienist. I've had mercury metals removed from 30 year old filings, and they do a process that protects from toxins and toxic gases even during the removal. They're ozone treatment is an option at every cleaning and they address overall gum health and healing each time we arrive for anything. I had a cracked tooth and a cap issue from improper work decades ago. They not only resolved the cracking but repaired the tooth without root canal, which was a less than ideal option and the only option other dentistry offered. Dr Z was the most skilled and expert insight into my situation to be able to do a proper repair without use of toxic materials. Couldn't be more grateful. I needed a second opinion on a massive oral surgery (extraction of 3 root canals) and was given his contact information. His office is very busy and it is hard to get an appointment. However it is WORTH IT to protect your teeth, protect your whole body of unnecessary exposure to toxins most dental offices use. Dr provided me with tons of insightful information and had zero financial benefit by doing so. I can see why his patients drive hours and some even fly in I'm told. After learning that our kids had multiple cavities, Dr. Z helped us develop a treatment plan that not only made sense from a financial perspective but also for the wellbeing of our children. The doctor seem okay. He pretty much just tells you the work you need done and the cost. The cost it's off the roof since they don't take any type of insurance , so it's all out of pocket. And you have to pay up front in full for treatment, which it's hundreds to thousands depending on what you need done. I don't understand why they can't at least do payment options since they don't take insurance. The worst part is the assistants/clerks at the front lobby, they are rude when explaining treatment costs and just overall seem to not like their job or annoyed. The dentist over booking causes him to spent minimal time per patient, rushing through patients, which leaves no time to ask questions or explain in detail the treatments he wants to do or is doing. The front desk personnel really should consider practicing good customer service. read more
