But after five years, I feel it's important to finally share this publicly for the sake of others seeking care. When I experienced high blood pressure late in pregnancy, we were advised to go to the hospital--but the promised support in emergency transitions never came. My partner and I had to navigate the ER and hospital system alone while I was in and out of consciousness from a magnesium drip. The only outreach was a call asking whether we'd be returning for aftercare--not a check-in, not a gesture of compassion, not even a follow-up to acknowledge what had happened. We later discovered documentation of a hypertension diagnosis that was never discussed with us transparently. No safety plan was made. The most guidance we received came from our hypnobirthing coach--not our midwifery team. We were also exposed to COVID-19 due to lax policies around symptomatic individuals, compounding our stress and vulnerability. While a partial refund was eventually issued, the emotional impact of being left unsupported in one of the most critical moments of our lives still lingers. I truly hope Nativiti has grown and changed. But for us, what was promised and what was lived were very different.

You can tell the love and compaction they all have for pregnant and birthing mama's. I came with my Boyfriend who was terrified of a birth happening anywhere outside of a hospital and my midwife happily answered every question he had with clarity and without judgment. My boyfriend had lost a child years back with his Ex-wife and his concerns were valid and these ladies respected his worries and helped him feel more secure in the choice of a more natural birth. The entire establishment is well kept and clean. The customer service is impeccable and as you go through your "journey" of pregnancy they are sure to have you meet everyone so when the time comes you are familiar with the lovely women that are there to assist you in birth. I can't give enough compliment to the wonderful people that work here and I highly recommend giving The journey Birth Center a try for your next pregnancy as I am!! So I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best when I first booked an appointment to 1st Choice Obstetrics and Gynecology. It's a very calming office, generally always quiet when I come in. They are quick to get you checked in and even more so quick to get the ball rolling. The nurses (I've had 4 different ones) have all been super friendly and personable, even when I'm not so much of either but more so half dead, it's gotten worse as months progressed. Pretty sure it's a fascinating thing to watch a person's energy and life being sucked out of them, haha (kids start that routine even before they are around!). Doctor Turner has by far exceeded my expectations; as though I can have any given this is my first pregnancy and I don't know what really to expect other than it takes a daunting, long, drawn out, 9 months of being a human vessel. She is thorough with answering all questions and giving out additional informative information every step of the way. Very personable and friendly, you almost forget you're in the doctor's office, until you think about the idea that you can see the entire morning traffic racing down 45 and the blinds are all open wide and they tell you bottoms off today. We had such a great experience at SGF with Dr. Shah and his team. We had our initial consultation…read moreat the end of April 2024. We welcomed our little blessing in June of 2025! It took me a very long time to write a review because I have terrible anxiety but I would like to share my experience in case someone else is thinking about going to SGF for treatment. We had visited a different fertility clinic in the Houston area but it seemed to me that all they wanted was our money and did not care about the outcome. The experience at SFG was much more personal. We filled out the online form on a Wednesday and had our consultation two days later on Friday. From our first consultation with Dr. Shah we felt safe and comfortable. We felt like Dr. Shah really listened to our needs. Once we went into the office to get diagnosed Dr. Shah wanted to make sure we had the best possible chance at getting pregnant. During a scan he was able to see that I had a polyp in my uterus and wanted to remove it to give us a higher chance at pregnancy. Dr. Shah performed the surgery and found another abnormality when he did. Once a biopsy was performed, it was discovered I had cervical cancer. Dr. Shah connected me with several oncologist so that we could begin treatment/surgery whatever needed to be done to make sure I was ok. With in a week I was able to get an MRI and CAT SCAN. I was still able to get my egg retrieval done despite the diagnosis. I had a conization to remove the cancerous cells and once I was cleared we continued with implantation. In September 2024, we implanted an embryo and we were able to get a positive pregnancy test. Throughout my pregnancy Dr. Shah checked on me. During my treatment at SGF, Rachel also made sure to answer any questions and was very responsive. I am so glad we came to SGF, I didn't see myself getting anywhere with the other fertility clinic we had visited prior to SFG. The only downside we did experience was with Elizabeth in billing. We had asked about a military discount which she said we would qualify for and then later redacted her statement saying we did not qualify because we did the Shared Risk Program. She also declined to bill our insurance when we asked her to. Either way, Dr. Shah made a huge impact on our life and we are very grateful for him and his team.
