We were then offered a verbal history of Jell-O, which was entertaining and informative. The displays are very interesting to look at for both kids and adults. There's flavors, artwork from the ads, molds, factory artifacts, a giraffe, and much more! It took us 20 minutes to get through. There's also a small gift shop. When you're done, definitely go downstairs to check out the exhibit by the Le Roy Historical Society. Details: - Admission is $4.50 for adults - Parking: look for the sign at the driveway. Pull in and you'll find parking right next to the building. - The Jell-O museum is part of the Le Roy historical society. That said, a little curating and information goes a long way. I understand that the planes are for the most part not stationary, but placing an informational plaque or sign by each plane, stating what it is, when built, and the significance of its type and that specific plane would be a tremendous help, and make any visit more interesting. I have basic and vague knowledge of the different planes; my wife has none. The downloaded audio tour was way lacking and many of the numbered items in the museum were off. And I'd rather just read a sign near an item then fumble around for the right audio track and then have to listen to it. And so the war at home (sic) exhibit was a little slapdash too. Sometimes less is more. There are exhibits of a period livingroom, kitchen, laundry room, etc. But they cram so many period items into each room, it's very unrealistic in terms of giving you a taste of what life was like then. It was as if a collector - or hoarder - filled each room with stuff. Just have the rooms decorated with the items one may have had, and perhaps some explanations of maybe how long one had to work to buy a radio or phonograph, etc. I get it; they are probably doing the best they can with a limited budget. I respect that. But being there are no docents readily available, and even if there were, informative signs near each plane, and maybe a history of the jeep - besides the audio - would make ones visit so much more fulfilling.

They could also make a smore before the great adventure. We were briefed about walking across the street and given a container for the fire flies as well as a net. Then we walked across the street. Be warned, after you get across to the field the event is self-led and you can walk around the field and find lightning bugs are your leisure. It was a nice evening with my son (he's 7) and my best friend.

The Hull Family Home is truly a gem, and is the only fully restored stone dwelling of the early…read more1800's in Erie county. When's the last time you visited a 200-year-old home? The home and farmstead were built by Warren Hull, a Revolutionary War veteran who moved to Lancaster, NY from New England with his wife Polly and their children. Their home was also used as hotel for people traveling from Batavia to Buffalo, as well as a meeting place. The home has a total of 4 floors, 3 of which were open to the public when we were there. There's also 7 functional fireplaces. It's evident how passionate and knowledgeable the volunteers are. The house was fully restored and is beautiful. The medicinal herb garden was thoughtfully planned and is carefully maintained by their volunteer gardener. The family cemetery is maintained by volunteers from the local chapter of DAR. They have ambitious goals to make this the premier historic destination of Erie County, and have made a lot of progress towards it. They normally host a variety of events, which have been cancelled due to COVID. However they are currently open Sundays in August 2020 from 12-3PM. Admission is free, but there's a recommended donation of $5. The volunteers dress in period clothes and will walk you through the home. I encourage you to checkout their website, which has a virtual tour of the home, as well as their Facebook page, which they've been actively keeping up to date. A note on parking and accessibility. There's a gravel/grass/bumpy parking lot available on the east side of the home. The back entrance into the Lowe level is relatively flat stone, and doesn't have any stairs. There's a wheel chair lift on the outside of the home which goes to the 1st floor in the home. Within the home, there are only stairs between each floor.

The paintings change frequently so every visit may be a different experience. Bill and his wife Linda are helping to put Caledonia on the map as an art destination.
