If you've got a flexible schedule and don't care much about bedside manner, Dr. Heyert will do the trick. She made my back feel better. It was the last minute changes to or cancellations of appointments, repeatedly forgetting my name, annoyed reaction when I had questions about my treatment, and pinning blame on me for these slip ups (never took responsibility or apologized) was more than I could deal with. Like Marie, I also went to see Dr. Heyert because of the recommendations I saw on Yelp (before I was a member, too). I'd never been to a chiropractor before, but my insurance covers the visits and last week I was having insane back problems. So I made an appointment to figure this business out. My first visit was just to see what my problems were. Dr. Heyert took pictures of my back, and she spent some time trying to figure out what my biggest issues were. She doesn't do alignments on the first day because she needs to review her notes, but she knew I was in a good amount of pain, so she let me rest for a bit with a heating pad on my back, and then she gave me a five minute massage before putting more heat on my back. The next day I went back and learned I have more problems than I thought. She explained everything to me perfectly so that I was able to understand where my problems areas were and what needed to happen in order to correct my alignment and posture. She explained everything, had me lay down, and then she started aligning. Whoa. I've never heard such weird noises as a result of my own body. I couldn't stop laughing between all the cracking and the pops. I'd never had my neck cracked before, so when she started to go for it I was so scared, but the relief I felt right afterward was incredible. Dr. Heyert is extremely gentle, but she does what she needs to do. You are also her main concern when you are laying on the bed, and she wants to do whatever she can to make you feel better. Another awesome thing about her is that she knows you by name and face right after your second visit. That's pretty awesome for someone who has their own private practice and a lot of different patients. Her assistant is great too. His name is Simon, and he's pretty chill. He's a nice person to greet you when you first arrive, that's for sure. I can't wait to go back today to get re-aligned. I also can't wait to laugh at myself again every time she cracks my back. I went to Holley for a year and a half until I moved away from Boston. Within the first week of treatment, Holley and Dianna knew me by name and would ask me about my studies and activities specifically, which I find to be very impressive considering they have up to twenty people come in each day. They were friendly and welcoming, and I immediately felt at ease in the environment. After taking x-rays, we found out that I had a slight scoliosis, and I started going to treatment three days a week. As a college student, I generally wouldn't be able to afford this kind of care, so let's just say that the service is, well, "affordable". About eight months into treatment, I had a muscle spasm in my back. I emailed Back Bay Chiropractic on Friday morning and was given the first appointment that day. I slowly made my way there, and Holley spent over forty-five minutes treating me with hot packs and massage. What made this particular moment stick out to me, though, was the fact that the next afternoon, I received a call from Holley making sure I was doing better. Despite the fact that she has the weekends off, she took the time to call to see if I was okay. To me, this is a great example of how much she cares about her patients. In my last week of care, I took another x-ray and we found out that my scoliosis had actually been cured. I would recommend Holley to everyone. I've had problems with my back since high school, and now that I'm in my final year at Northeastern I've gone to quite a few chiropractors. I left my last chiropractor because I couldn't afford the $40 co-payments (yipes). I discovered Dr. Heyert through Yelp, and I couldn't be happier. She is incredibly caring and always seems happy to see her patients. The office is peaceful and comfortable, and it's right on Newbury Street, so that's super convenient for me. Dr. Heyert provides special consideration for Berklee students and Northeastern students who have the Northeastern insurance (NUSHIP), and probably other students, too (those are just the ones I know of for sure). Read: very, VERY affordable. No reason not to go if you have any sort of back or neck pain. I went in for my first appointment, and it was a quick and pleasant evaluation. She checked out my back, had me turn my head side to side, etc., and then asked if I wanted to take a picture for a "before and after". I thought that there probably wouldn't be too much of a visual difference, but went ahead with it anyway. She suggested a treatment plan, and set a re-evaluation for 4 weeks later. I began my treatments the next day, and I absolutely love them. It's so relaxing to lie there with heating pads on and to just rest, and then the adjustments give me a big pain relief. I really look forward to my appointments, but even if something comes up suddenly and I have to cancel or switch my appointment, Dr. Heyert is always extremely accomodating. I've called the day of to switch my appointment to the next day and there is no problem at all, unlike with previous chiropractors which would have charged me a fee. One of the most surprising things I have found about working with Dr. Heyert came four weeks after my first appointment when we took another picture for the before and after. My back is very noticeably MUCH straighter! Even without this result I would have kept going for the relaxation and the pain relief, but the before and after shot was just another great thing about Dr. Heyert's practice. I could go on and on about how great Dr. Heyert is, but I'll wrap it up. I have had chronic back pain as long as I can remember, and back issues are hereditary in my family, so I have been seeing chiropractors for many years. Before I moved to this side of the country, I had a great chiropractor back in the Seattle area so I was kind of picky when I moved out to Boston. Dr. Heyert has been absolutely fantastic in the time that I have been seeing her, from the very first visit! She sat me down to discuss what my main problems were, took x-rays, and laid out a plan to help me reach a point where I don't wake up every morning wondering if I'm going to get another headache from neck tension. She is so comfortable to be around, and it really helps a person relax while getting an adjustment, along with well placed heating pads and some light massage to loosen up the muscles around particularly tight joints. All around, she helps me feel great physically, and her office is so welcoming. I absolutely love back bay chiropractic! Holley is the sweetest, most genuine, and caring person I've ever met. I have been a patient for over a year now and the results are absolutely amazing!. I've always had bad posture and neck problems from singing in bad position. Dr. Holley Heyert put me on a treatment plan of three 20 minute appointments a week for four weeks. After the first week, I saw drastic improvements. I still go at least once a week not because I have problem just because I love the appointments. Back bay chiropractic is a block away from my school, Berklee College Of Music, and its always been my favorite way to spend my time in between classes. Every appointment is around twenty minutes and they're very relaxing and extremely effective. You lay face down with a heating pad on your back and then she puts bio-freeze lotion on your back and gives you the best massage of your life and then she adjusts you!! Dr. Heyert was the first Chiropractor I ever saw. I had scoliosis and it was causing severe pain and interfering with my ability to focus and enjoy life. She was referred to me word-of-mouth by a bass guitar student at Berklee, in my first semester there. I'm so glad I complained about my back pain that day! Now, I never have a doctor or bodyworker comment on my scoliosis, and if I bring it up they say it's "very minimal." No one will ever tell you chiropractors can "cure" scoliosis, but Dr. Heyert's treatment saved my life. I am willing to give this place 1 star because at first, Dr. Heyert (I feel weird calling her a Dr. to be honest) gave me OKAY care. My back definitely looked better in the before and after pictures, but I was continuously in a lot of pain throughout the entire treatment process. Even though it looked better, it hurt more & more the more I came to see her. I attributed this to growing pains. Dr. Heyert is very sweet, but she is incredibly unprofessional. Go here if you don't care about feeling like you are walking into a hole in the wall, and having to listen to her gossip with her other patients. Her treatment "rooms" are one big room, beds separated by curtains. It's no surprise to me that she waves copay for students, because otherwise I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up with malpractice suits left & right. On my first visit, I mentioned that she had good reviews, and she proceeded to tell me that she was "shocked" (almost to tears) by the one slightly negative review on Yelp, and told me that the girl that wrote it was making it up, because her waiting room has never been noisy. So I'm sure that if you go in to see Dr. Heyert, and mention this review, she will make up excuses as to why I would give her a negative review, and say that it doesn't reflect at all on her practice. She won't take every patient, and if she doesn't like you personally, she'll send you to someone else. She had me call another patient who was angry at the way Dr. Heyert talked to her, to "sort things out." There are plenty of other chiropractors in Boston, & I'd say with anyone who is doing work on your body - sometimes the value of the care is worth a few extra dollars. All of this being said, I loved Dr. Heyert at first, and was willing to look past all the warning signs (emotional and erratic behavior and conversations) because a lot of people rave about her work, and she is really very kind and loving. This might have to be a see for yourself kind of thing, but I know I won't be sending anyone that I care about to Back Bay Chiropractic. read more

Dr. Holley Heyert has honestly changed my life. I came in with incredibleeck and lower back pain. As a singer, tension in mmy neck due to a car accident in my youth was really inhibiting my ability to excell in my technique. I started going three times a week as suggested for my first round of treatment, and within a month I felt COMPLETELY different! My posture was much better and my neck/shoulders were so much less tense. This was totally evident in my xrays. The other amazing thing that I attribute her treatment to was the progress I was making with mmy signing. Due to a better alignment in my neck and shoulders, I really believe that it helped me with my placement and breath overall. I was finding it easier and easier to see. Along with excellent treatment, I also enjoyed my warm and excited greetings as I cam through the door. It was nice to know that my doctor knew my name, and remembered what I was doing the last time I saw her. She invests herself in her patients and truly cares about seeing them better. Her office is in downtown Boston, so of course you should not expect it to be a mansion with 5 individual rooms. But thats part of the convenience of her practice. It's neat, tidy, and of course clean! I would totally recommend Holley to a friend with 100% confidence that they will enjoy her treatments. Chiropractic care is a health and physical treatment. Not to be mistaken for a gentle/relaxing massage therapy (though I do find it very relaxing). But essentially she is re-aligning your skeleton, so disregard any reviews that seems disappointed. It sounds to me like they should be looking for gentle massage and oil, not true chiropractic help. No to mention, Diana (her receptionist) is LOVELY! I will miss Holley once I'm gone! read more

Dr Heyert is confident and very competent about her work. I first visited her about six months ago when I was having lower back issues. After a few sessions her manipulations and massage quickly stopped the pain. More recently I called her office when I was in severe pain after a hiking accident, I could barely walk. I was given an appointment within the hour, and after treatment I felt enormous relief. I cannot praise her enough, I am so grateful. Dr. Heyert is an outstanding, knowledgeable, kind, and talented chiropractor. I have been to many, and she ranks at the very top. She has a vast understanding of the spine and was able to rid me of my migraine headaches and intense shoulder pain (which had plagued me for years). She also takes a holistic approach, and takes the time to get to the root of the pain, which not all chiropractors do. She is not a "quick adjustment and send you on your way" doctor...she spends ample time with each patient, determines all possible causes of pain and misalignment, and works at solving the problem rather than just offering a quick fix. Before Dr. Heyert, I did not have a lot of respect or trust in chiropractors, as I work in the medical field (which can be quite disparaging of this profession). She quickly taught me that a good chiropractor has as much knowledge (if not more) about the spine than an orthopedic doctor, and a good chiropractor can save you from unnecessary back/spinal surgeries and years of pain medications. Do yourself a favor and visit Dr. Heyert. I will forever be grateful that I came to her rather than sticking with the heavy duty migraine pills my neurosurgeon prescribed.
