But if you know the right sources (like the newsletters I get), you can be in the know concerning the best and most interesting shows. This weekend, in addition to PPOW (reviewed separately), I visited Perrotin to see the otherworldly art of Daniel Arsham. Arsham combines old and new, Greek figures with robotic innards. Beautiful Greek sculptures with complex architectural cities carved inside of them. You have to see it to understand it. So creative, the way it connects architecture, thought, memory, and our mental connections to places. Great gallery to add to your list.

Agora Gallery exhibited the 40th Chelsea Fine Art Competition recently. The art works here were…read morevaried and interesting. Out of all, three were particularly fascinating. "Fault Line" was a face that to me resembled a Russian ballet dancer. Composed with fine bone structure. I couldn't help looking at this painting. "Immersion 3" shows a woman with her slim damp arm and evening wear. "Beauty is the Beads" shows an African man presumably a Masai with a spear and a multitude of necklaces with beautifully colored beads. Sculptors and paintings were all here and I enjoyed this show.

The fee was only revealed at the final step after I had already invested significant time completing the submission. This created the impression of a bait-and-switch or drip pricing structure, where material cost information was not clearly presented upfront, resulting in applicants proceeding through a lengthy submission process without full awareness of the financial requirement. I spent a significant amount of time completing the application under the assumption that all key participation requirements, including fees, would be clearly disclosed at the outset. This lack of upfront transparency led to unnecessary time expenditure and confusion regarding the true cost of participation. I am requesting improved disclosure practices so that all mandatory fees are clearly and prominently stated at the beginning of the application process before users are required to invest time or submit materials. I am also requesting deletion of my submitted materials and personal information from their system and confirmation that this has been completed.

These are some of the exhibitions that were formerly on display: Mantua Nangala & Yukultji Napangati: The artists' abstract works of art represent a description of the the' homeland and indigenous life. The appearance of these portraits kind of reminds me of a persian rug, but it's still pretty neat. Matthew Krishanu: Falling Into Place: The setting of these paintings is in South Asia. There is a variety of banyan trees and religious figures. Jaiik Lee: Still In Flux: The vessels are painted in a variety of porcelain colors. The physical appearance of these jars are identical to hot air balloons and the vessel at Hudson Yards. Soull & Dynasty Ogun: KODE: Yes I Do: As you enter this parlor, immerse yourself in a unique clothing line, furniture, and a table aligned with glittering jewelry. Each exhibit is assigned a QR code. Simply scan the code to acquire more information about these exhibitions. They give you a pair of socks to go into the bead pit, string to make a beaded necklace, a brochure of the beads and a bucket to hold your beads. Each bead is $1. There are lots and lots of beads. Never ending. Difficult to find the bottom. There are different colored ones as well. People are very kind and was helping each other out if someone was looking for something specific. There is a set of stairs to lead up to some art work above. Basically pictures of what was in the bead pit below. The back of the exhibit is the cashier. It was a good experience. The space is very nice for hosting events.

Love her message, love her vibe, and love her voice. I love people who are unapologetically themselves. I look up to that. I really have to just walk around downtown more. I forget how many hidden gems there are. When I remembered the gallery was in SoHo, I stopped in my tracks, searched the address for the gallery and realized I was a block away. I almost ran when I found out and was blown away upon my arrival. All this rambling is to say, don't walk, run here. Ashley's staff is friendly, knowledgeable and so fun to talk to. All of her pieces are incredible and if I didn't have to still buy diapers for the kid, I would be investing in one of her pieces. Until then, I got her book "You don't look fat, you look crazy". There are ways you can support her by buying her card games, books or smaller pieces. I can't wait to dive into this book though. She also has one that focuses on prominent women in history and pop culture called Roar!. Yay, women! It's such a great gift for the strong women in your life. I previously bought this for my sister as a Christmas gift and she loves it. Also, I signed up for the email list, even though I was already on it. Ashley has a thing called a Saturday series. I came to Andrew Kreps with great expectations as a fan of Darren Bader's work but this show--or…read morethree shows, he says it is--left me sighing with a tinge of melancholy. Bader is a sculptor, I would say, and what I've liked about his work in the past was the feeling of an organic synthesis forging a deeply resonant and closeknit connections among disparate objects, while employing unexpected materials such as animals, living plants, dead vegetables among images and products and the other usual elements of sculpture today. It's a really thrilling sculpture that electrified the space around it, making all the environment alive and me excited to be in it. Or it was.. now, in this show at Andrew Kreps, the materials are atomized, disconnected, and the space of the gallery is just ordinary gallery white space that's there to separate objects and set them apart from my life and life outside. The walls, floor, and air were there between things to isolate them from each other, and isolate me from them. It was a show of photographs and objects--photos on the wall, objects on the floor. (Already a significant separation, a categorization keeping everything apart in its own conceptual cubbyhole.) For the most part the photographs don't have a lot going on in them, or at least not anything that really caught my interest. They look like fashion shots or ads or stills from movies I wouldn't want to watch in full. And they are framed in black on white walls, very isolatory. The objects, as I said, are all on the floor, some of them are plain like a can of beans whereas a limited number are big and crazy--a panel printed with a weird text about celebrities along with collaged images, which appeared to be a full-fledged work of art in its own right, and a big plexiglass box with black rubber gloves reaching inward, perhaps a kinky torture chamber of some sort? These were interesting to look at but looking at them only reminded me of the plainness of all the rest of the objects, how little there was to link any of them together, just this analytical picking and choosing that just repeats what any gallery in Chelsea does instead of transforming it and making it a worthwhile space to be in.
