Going back to my roots, I wanted to…read morepurchase a house on the North Fork of the Shenandoah River, where property does not frequently turn over. After a futile internet search, I came across Craig's profile via a web search and decided to give him a try, not expecting to much (I'm fairly cynical). As it turned out, engaging Craig was the smartest thing I could have done. Having grown up in the valley, he knew the entire area far better than anybody I had talked to and helped me come up with a strategy for what areas would match my goals, and quickly built a list of available properties. Importantly, he helped me prepare for each of the properties and accompanied me in reviewing them. After the search yielded no perfect matches, Craig suggested I shift gears and look at property instead of a pre-built house. Shortly after we changed our tack, he told me he had found "the place for me" based upon our multiple interactions. He was 100% correct; within a day of seeing the property, I ended my search and put in a bid. Craig's service didn't stop there, however, as he helped me navigate the counter-bid process, draw up documents, and go through all the recommended steps from survey to inspecting the existing well and septic tank. It's hard for me to articulate how helpful he was, given that I was purchasing this property from a distance. His onsite diligence, friendliness, and thorough approach meant that he was doing most of the heavy lifting and was making sure I was comfortable with each step in the process. And, more importantly, he found me exactly what I wanted! I highly recommend him to anybody who is interested in purchasing in Virginia, and consider myself lucky for randomly stumbling upon him.

Before it could be listed, the house needed numerous renovations including all new carpeting, complete interior painting and cleaning. Since I live in another state, I imagined I would be doing a lot of commuting to find local contractors and painters and to oversee all the work. Much to my surprise and delight, Craig handled everything. He made all the arrangements with reliable and quality contractors who performed a wide variety of tasks to get the house ready for the market. When finished, it looked even better than when it was new. There were quite a few surprises along the way and Craig good-naturedly took them all in stride. At one point, he even brought his own dehumidifier to the house to deal with high humidity in the basement. Craig maintained good communication and frequently updated me on the status of the work being done. Once listed, the house sold quickly. Craig is trustworthy, knowledgeable and hard-working. I greatly appreciate his expertise, time and efforts to make the sad business of selling my parents' home a completely positive experience. In addition to all that, Craig is personable and a pleasure to work with - I highly recommend him!

Jin learned of our quick turn around house hunting trip from a foreign country and graciously without hesitation adjusted her schedule on short notice to meet and conduct an in-depth and relaxed interview of our wish list. Jin dedicated a number of days to meet with us on any potential homes to be viewed and did so in a punctual manner with a positive attitude. We ultimately selected a prebuilt home that checked a number of our personal wishlist boxes and Jin acted as our complete buyer advocate and was incredibly responsive in any questions and issues that needed to be addressed and resolved with both the builder and Mortgage Company. Jin was incredible from the initial introductory meeting and ultimately all the way to closing. We highly and without hesitation recommend Jin to anyone is search of a true Real Estate Professional who is in search of a great home!

While the home-buying process itself was smooth, our move-out experience was the complete opposite. As a family with young children, we were repeatedly questioned and made to feel uncomfortable over normal wear and tear......things like minor drywall nicks that are expected in any home with kids. These were already being addressed on our end with a contractor, as we had communicated. Despite agreeing to cover repairs and forfeit a $3,000 deposit, we were met with unnecessary comments and a level of aggression that felt unprofessional and unwarranted. It was especially disappointing given that we chose to work with her over many other options, expecting a level of trust and respect in return. We believe in accountability and were fully willing to take care of any legitimate damages....but respect and professionalism should go both ways. Based on this experience, we would not recommend doing business with Jin.

From day one, he truly listened to our needs and gave thoughtful recommendations about what would be a good long-term investment versus what might end up being a money pit. He wasn't the type to push for a quick sale--in fact, he pointed out property damage and issues we might've missed on our own, which really built our trust. He stood out among all the other real estate agents we attempted working with. Thanks to his guidance and expertise, we ended up getting our top-choice home in just eight days! The process was seamless from start to finish. Even recently, when we needed to relocate, Peter offered to help us find renters and has continued to be supportive. We'll absolutely be working with him again when it's time to sell. As first time home buyers, we felt we got amazing value for the services provided. Highly recommend Peter and the Red Cedar Real Estate team for anyone looking for a knowledgeable, genuine, and reliable agent.

The best way to describe Peter and Red Cedar is high touch, white glove - concierge service. Peter knew the market and had a powerful team of equally adept realty professionals. Nothing happened without Peter's knowledge and he always focused on what was best for us: Initially meeting through closing. Here's where the professionalism goes to another level - Peter builds relationships with his clients, throws mixers, and checked up on us a couple of times per year. And, he DIDN'T ASK US FOR THE NEXT DEAL each time he subtly checked in on us over 5 years! He and his team cares about you - long term not just to get a sale. After 5 years of relationship building, we called Peter and the Red Cedar team for support. He came over. We completed representation paperwork, his AMAZING 360 degree Ariel and interior video/photography genius turned up and transformed our house into a buyer's beacon that sold our home within 24-48 hours of posting - FULL PRICE OFFER!!!! This is Red Cedar - all day long. After getting an offer, Peter and his team coordinate every document, appointment, and follow-up like a well oiled machine. Obtaining the services of a real estate agent is much more than "finding someone to sell your…read morehome". This is especially true if you are selling an inherited property as I was earlier this year. A good real estate agent will know the area, know the laws and rules and will help assess your home and get it listed and sold for a "good price". A great real estate agent is a counselor, a partner in your effort, someone who "has your back" throughout the process in addition to doing all of the real estate work. Philippa Main is an *outstanding* real estate agent and an even better person. My father passed away leaving a home in Woodbridge, Virginia - the home in which I grew up and which contained almost 50 years of possessions. I contacted Philippa in March of 2026 to discuss its potential sale even as the house was in significant disarray while I engaged in the slow process of cleaning it out and sorting through the many things my parents had accumulated over the years. When she visited the home, I looked around and threw up my hands. Philippa looked around and said, "we can make this happen." I sought her out specifically because she mentioned having expertise in sales of homes that are inherited - a particular niche that involves a delicate dance of handling family dynamics, wills, probate laws and determining what, if any, money should be put into renovations or improvements that will get a reasonable return on the investment. From our first conversation over the phone - which she took time to do in the middle of a busy weekend - Philippa was incredibly personable, easy to talk to and anticipated many of my questions and many of my concerns as we talked. By the end of our conversation, I felt like I was chatting with a friend who had expertise I needed. Over the following three months, she was a (rapidly-responded-to) text or phone call away as I navigated getting the house ready for sale. She helped outline a schedule and a plan to list the home. She connected me with a large network of trusted service providers from junk removers to contractors to painters to flooring experts from whom I obtained estimates and some of whom I contracted to help clear out the house and prepare it for sale. While she always reiterated that she would back any decision I made regarding the house, I always sought her counsel when making major decisions such as whether or not to spend money on renovations and, if so, which ones were most important. Of course, there were obstacles - some amusing, some less-so - but Philippa helped me handle each one with a confidence borne of having "seen it before". That is an incredibly valuable thing when dealing with a stressful situation. In the end, the home was listed in June and had nearly seventy showings in three days. The house sold for well over its asking price and after all of it I know some things: The home could have been sold by another agent. But few, if any, others could have been a partner in the process the way Philippa was for me. She was a trusted resource, a confidant, a person who knew when to inject humor into a situation and when helping me vent was what was needed - she understands people and the process of selling an inherited home in addition to being a brilliant real estate agent who knows the area and who knows how to get the job done. I couldn't recommend her more for ANY real estate work but, especially, if you face the task of preparing and selling an inherited property.
