So I know she has been a challenge to staff but they have been patient, kind and understanding and she loves them. She asks every morning if we can go to daycare. Since attending her manners have improved, she is always singing a new song and has mastered her counting and ABC's. They have offered routine and stability and lots of fun for my wee one. It's nice to get the daily report everyday of what she did and pictures to see what she was doing. The teachers are also always willing to chat and share about her day at pick up time. It's a small program so you know she is getting good individual care and is not lost in the numbers of bigger programs. I love that there are only 2 rooms, and that they interact on special occasions and at the beginning and end of the day. I think getting to be with the "big kids" has been fun and provided a challenge to my daughter. When we arrive and leave, every kid not only knows my daughter but even me. That homey feel is exactly what we needed for our first care experience.

There are three elements to establish such an environment - 1) The teacher acts as a guide for the child - 2) Allowing the child's natural curiosity to direct his/her learning - 3) Promoting respect for all things and all people At the end, its as simple as loving what you do and the team of Toronto Woods Daycare loves their profession, hence making your child's experience a memorable one :)

my son Liam started at Sweet angels when was just under 6 months, he weighed 16 lbs - everyday we…read morepicked him up he was inconsolable and 3/5 days a week he was in different clothing because he would wet and soil through his diaper there. We did not have these issues at home so I began asking questions and would get responses as "it's not the same at home" and frustration so as a new first time mom I started to think maybe I was being too picky. My mom picked him up one day and felt the same way that our little treasure was not himself. So I started to pay more attention. Well one day my husband came to pick my son up at a different than usual time and Liam at 9.5 months was sitting on the floor hysterical and inconsolable the teacher in the room said I don't know why he is like this, he's been like this for almost an hour. Well my husband grabbed his sheet off the counter and seen my son had not been given his bottle in almost 6 hours!!! Now Liam was on 6 ounces every 3 hours! How something like this could happen is beyond me. We immediately pulled him. He went to the doctor for his 9 month check up the following Monday and we learned he only gained 1 lb we spoke with the doctor about why we pulled him and asked about daycare changes and just different questions new parents have. Our pediatrician was concerned about the lack of weight gain and asked is it possible this happened more than just this one incident and that is why he is always upset when we leave because he is hungry. My husband and I started logging when we dropped supplies off in the beginning because it seemed like we were just supplying the entire center with wipes, well I said to my husband lets calculate how many bottle a container of formula makes and see if they had enough. We did the make and they were short 1.5 containers. So they didn't request the formula enough. Now I would not have done this math on a normal basis because I wouldn't find it would be necessary. Our pediatrician setup a follow up appointment for 30 days later to check Liam's weight now that he was not in their care to see if he was gaining appropriately again (I say again because his growth was normal before his stint at sweet angels)- well 30 days later he went in for his weigh after being in what I feel to be the most terrific daycare ever and our sweet little boy gained 2 lbs and was just a happy camper everyday!! His personality was how he was with us on the weekends daily now!! No inconsolable tantrums after daycare...and as far as the diaper soiling accidents the ceased as well! Liam I am proud to say since December has only went through the diaper 3xs at his new daycare!!! Nothing changed diet wise or diaper wise! Always used pampers. Now why would his growth chart be normal and drop for the duration he was at the center and then rebound immediately after changing to a different center. I didn't go public with it until my sister in law just recently removed her son from the infant room because I was worried they would retaliate again him. So I posted a review just like the post I am writing to you both. It was removed saying my review was not on the core product. It was definitely on the core product. They reported it to not look bad so I have been spreading the word now and the owner has called my husband not me and threatened a law suit and said has the money to do it, so why not invest in the center to improve the quality of the children's care!

They said that he refused to participate in class activities and that is why he is "so behind academically." Each day was a battle to drop my son off at this other daycare. He would scream and cry. It literally broke my heart. After hearing the staff talk about my son in such a negative manner, I decided to leave! It was then that I started at Sweet Angels. The staff seemed very warm and welcoming to me and my son. The first day (like I expected) was very rough. He screamed and cried. But to my surprise, when I picked him up, HE WAS PLAYING WITH KIDS AND LAUGHING!! The second day he fussed at drop off and the third day he raced me to the door to get into school. What a difference Sweet Angels has made in our daily lives!! My son is happy to go o school each day, he has friends, the teachers all seem to really care about him and he always participates. Each day he brings home crafts and worksheets!! Thank you Sweet Angels for making each day a happy one!!! (A special thank you to Miss Sara and Miss Lily!!!!---you are truly wonderful!!!! They don't have a fridge in the kitchen. Next comes staff, the staff seems almost seemed like they were just "babysitting". Sitting on there phones, propping babies up with bottles, allowed infants under a year to sleep with blanket in crib. Another thing, the infant teacher was aggressive putting kids to sleep and handling them. Then said "sometimes you gotta be tough". Then came the end of the day, it was 4 and still very warm outside. The center closed at 6. The kids wanted to come back inside and they didn't allow them to come back in because the rooms were closed. Overall, this is defiantly not a place to send you children.

Care A Lot Child Care Center agreed to take my youngest grandchild. I've seen this place for years and never much gave it a second thought other than it would not have been my first choice for child care. I must clarify in that the location does not thrill me and there is not a great deal of literature/advertising for this facility. Lily experienced her first day. Lily is somewhat difficult. Lily is not keen on eating or napping. Lily, after a rough ten minutes or so, LOVED this place!!! She has made friends - for real!!! - and she loves her teachers/care coordinators! She has tried new foods and likes them!!! SHE NOW NAPS!!! By choice!! She is also somewhat upset when she does not get to go to "daycare". I cannot say enough about how well this facility worked out. Clean, well organized and well staffed. Lily comes home happy every day! With a new 'do. Braiding, upsweep, she loves it. Minor point, she will not let anyone do her hair other than her "teachers" at Care A Lot. Again, minor issue however major kudos to the care people! Kindergarten is finishing for my eldest grandchild and she will also be off to Care A Lot for the summer.
