I've been to the YMCA 2 times now. I enjoyed the Sunday yoga class that I joined. I was pleasantly surprised at how busy the gym was over the weekend. I did some laps around the track and had no trouble finding a treadmill or bike. Over the years, I've frequented LA fitness gyms but I like the pace of YMCA as well. Birthday party used the gym. It was wonderful. The party room was large and spacious and immaculate. The kids had a wonderful time.

It doesn't smell (that's the Sockport Family YMCA), nobody will shame you or make illegal videos of you for the way you lift weights like they do at my Williamsville location (aka the Mockport Family YMCA), and you can't take out your equipment here and start doing windmills with it (Cockport Family YMCA). Despite all that, it's a great gym. Not a bad little gym at all - and has really excellent Management. In fact I think the management is superior to a lot of the other locations in this area. The employees are delighted with the way things are run here. The one main problem is they don't have the equipment that they need. They don't have even half of the excellent weight lifting equipment that my own location has which is a shame because if they did I would come here a lot more often. It's still possible to do a pretty good workout but not having a cable machine, and the pull down, and others, make things pretty challenging. Still it is brand new and there's lots of room for expansion and hopefully that happens sooner rather than later. I'll give it a 4 for now, but if they get the extra stuff they need, I'll raise it up they can stand on mountains just like the late Josh Groban would have done. read more

I've really enjoyed visiting this place over the last month! The staff is always super friendly and ready to great you with a smile. The pool area is always super clean and it's fairly larger with a toddler splash pad pool, a family activity pool and a lap swimming pool. The water temperature is always very comfortable. I love the steam and sauna rooms especially when they add aromatherapy! It's so comforting after working out. The upstairs fitness center seems sort of small but it has enough to suit my needs. I really enjoy walking around the track and watching the swimmers or the basketball players. They also have a super cool bike that you can log into a play fitness games on! I haven't personally used the gym or the rock wall so I can't report on that. I've gone to a number of classes Including aquafit,yoga and Zumba. All three have been super fun! The instructors are very welcoming and make you feel comfortable at any fitness level. I've yet to try any of the activity nights but I'm looking forward to soon! I have noticed that the pool closes a lot and rock climbing is never opened when we are there but other than that I'm very happy with the Y. My children enjoy going there and there is always equipment available to use. The Lockport Y offers lots of programs that interest my children. Overall recommend! read more

The gym equipment includes instructions on how to utilize it properly. They have showers that you can utilize after an intense work out. They do watch your child while you work out. They offer swimming classes and they have a swim team. They also have a rock wall, basketball court, classes, etc. Overall this is a great facility. Tips for improvement: they should have cleaning spray bottles that can be used to clean the equipment after use. When a swim class was cancelled we weren't notified. They should have emailed us or called us before we made the trip to the Y. read more

Huge step up from the old place. Love coming here! Lots of equipment and classes to choose from as well as very spacious!

i would give zero stars if possible!!!! staff constantly leaves early !!!! family pool is often closed !!!! rock climbing wall is only available 3 days a week for less than 4 hours !!!!! today for the security time i went at 11:45 45 minutes before it was supposed to close as my granddaughter had a dentist appointment prior to that !!!! once again the rock wall was closed early !!! not due to a problem !!! but because the staff took it upon themselves to close it early !!!! once my granddaughter was disappointed!!!! what a waste of a monthly fee !!!! save your money !!!!! take your kids to other places that offer kids activities!!!!the lockport y sucks impo !!!! i will be now cancelling my membership & taking my granddaughter to ither places that offer swimming/ rock climbing etc & actually provide the services i pay for. im paying for something thats newer yet barely opened to use !!!!! read more
