Stopped by on my way through and figured I should grab something before the long drive. I like trying chili burgers because not only are they one of my favorites but I get to see how they make their chili and patty at the same time. Is it homemade chili? Homemade patty and seasoned? Soggy bun or toasted? There was a spot in the front to get a carhop so I parked. It didn't take long before a young girl came to ask for my order. Nothing else seemed that appetizing besides the chili burger anyway so I ordered that. "Mexican food" consisted of nachos. Only after the fact did I see onions rings but thought the burger was enough. No prices on the menu which made me suspicious but how much would a sort of fast food/diner cost me? Didn't expect to pay over $8 but yep. Quite a lot. The burger was only okay. Nothing unique. Nothing to write home about at all. The chili was only slightly different from a Sonic chili burger and honestly, Sonic has more flavor in theirs sadly. I wasn't offered any options for the chili burger and none listed on the menu. Chili burger is what the menu says and that's what you get. No option for onions or grilled onions or anything else. It's definitely not worth $8. Maaaaaybe $4-6 and $6 being generous. $8 should come with fries at least. Basic flavor. Basic presentation. Then you're most likely feeling the need to tip on top of that. The parking area was at least clean. People coming and going makes you think it's a popular spot but makes me wonder if there's better places to go even if I had to walk inside. Great place to pick up food for the kids, grandparents or a quick bite but don't expect much if you want flavor. You pay more than what you get. read more

Friday night stopped at Holly's for the first time on our way to Lubbock. Wasn't real sure where to park. Not seeing any other parking, I inadvertently parked in the 'Car Hop' section and quickly got a friendly lady to take our order.We had planned on going in.. but hey maybe this would be faster and get us back on the road. That was not the case. It took a really long time for couple of burgers to come out. I could not see a menu or what selections. So, we asked for the 'standard' cheeseburger and fries. When she did return with burgers, they were hot and the order correct. Not the best burgers with a over toasted bun and fairly dry meat... but it was dinner of sorts. The fries were to the usual fast food pre-cooked frozen fries. Nothing to write home about. The service; the car hop was friendly and pleasant. Ambiance; I did go in to use the restroom and over all, I would say Holly's has not had an upgrade since the 1990's. So, ambiance is leftover American Graffiti. With lots of wear and tear. Still worth a stop for nostalgia. read more

We randomly stopped here during a road-trip and plan on making it a habit on our routes through West Texas. Convenient pull up and fast service. Okay restrooms and nice staff. I've been through Post three times this year already. I've passed Holly's each time. I've been on the lookout for great steak fingers. Reviews were good so I figured why not? Service was friendly and my order was taken right away. Food came out in a reasonably short amount of time. My food was hot and fresh. I was hoping for handmade fingers. They were good but not GREAT. Driven past this place many times on our way to Colorado/New Mexico, but have never stopped. On our recent drive back this holiday season, we were doing alright on gas and made the decision to stop in Post for lunch at Holly's. We didn't do the carhop service and went inside to order to use the restroom. The lady was nice behind the counter and took our cooked to order meal. We got cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, tater tots, and french fries. The burgers were reasonable prices (think In-n-Out and not Five Guys!) and were filling. I would highly recommend the onion rings with your meal, which there are plenty of options to choose from. This is our new stopping point to get something much better than the fast-food options in this desolate area of Texas. read more

On June 27 2025 that evening we stopped at Holly's like we always do coming home in Lubbock from The Dallas area, the food is fantastic but this we noticed that all the workers had an attitude, it seems they were not interested in helping us, we ordered anyway. We will stop again next time either on our way to Dallas or coming back home to Lubbock. If it happens again we are going to by pass Holly's, If they people aren't happy with their jobs they need to find another one. read more

On my way to Lubbock, I came across this place. Had to stop on my way back home. I ordered the Egg and Sausage Sandwich with tater tots. The sandwich was cooked to perfection. The tots were crunchy. The charm of this place is why you stop in. You pull up and they will come out to your car to take the order. Excellent service. read more

So. Very. Disappointed!!! As a kid we would always go to Holly's when we went thru Post. That was one of the highlights of our trip to our grandparents house. I have stopped many times over the years and loved it. However, this is not the case anymore. It has slowly gone downhill the last 2 years, and tonight was probably the last trip. We pulled up to order and it took FOREVER for anyone to come get our order. Our order was a simple one. 1 burger with mayo no lettuce, one chili cheese burger, tots and onion rings. We were told it would be 15 minutes which was no problem- good food takes time. We had an errand to run so we did that while our food was being made. We got back before the 15 minutes was up and waited another 10 minutes. Our order finally arrived only to get cold onion rings and tots, and only 1 burger. When we asked for the other burger, they said we would have to wait for it to be made. Another 10 minutes. The carhop brought us the other burger and said here, and walked off. At least I have the memories of when Holly's was good, because it's a huge disappointment now. read more

We found this little gem on our way back to San Antonio. It was well after lunch, but they still had a constant flow of customers. This is definitely a local's spot! The menu is simple - we got burgers and cheese fries. The server told us burgers are what they are known for and we could see why; the burgers have a fresh flavor. Easy parking and friendly staff. You order at the counter, find a seat, and they call your name when your food is ready. We'll definitely stop by if we have the chance to do so again. read more

Passed Holly's on the way to see family in New Mexico and on the way back we just had to stop. I told my friend that I couldn't remember where that little drive in was, but if we saw it on the way home, we had to stop. Sure enough, right about the time we were starving. There it was! The staff is mostly younger people, teens and 20's. They were super cute and helpful! I got a burger and fries and my friend got a chicken sandwich and fries. It's a typical drive in burger and fries combo. It's the exact kind of thing you need when you're making a long haul from Albuquerque to Austin! Loved Holly's I'll never forget where it is now! It was true Texas spirit from the spot right off the highway, to the cold Dr. Pepper in my cup to the George Strait playing on the radio. A must stop on any road trip! read more

Drove through Post last week with a friend. We stopped at Holly's hoping to find some home cooked burgers but in were served frozen premade food. The fries, burger patty and onion rings were all of the frozen premade variety. The burger was so dry I had to dip it in ketchup. read more

The diner is really close to a high school or junior high, which is cute but also annoying. The food is not great, it's on par with cafeteria food. A lot of the appeal I think is from kids who come here for lunch or after school. If you are on a roadtrip or looking for a lunch spot- would not recommend. For teens though I can see how this would be a fun spot. Diner is run down, and our experience was the staff wasn't super friendly (but they were also preparing for a bunch of kids to come, so they were busy) but the atmosphere was hyper-local. We all know Post has limited options when it comes to food. Holly's is fast food, somewhat comparable to the food at a high-school football game concession stand. The burger was okay. It was quite a thin patty. They recently raised their prices. We got a cheeseburger, a bacon cheeseburger, and a small Dr. Pepper for $17.50... wasn't worth it. I'll probably head to Sonic or even McDonald's next time. I will emphasize that the milkshakes are Holly's best feature. The milkshakes are the reason we stop here when traveling though. Had outside car hop service. We were attended to very quickly. The attendant was very polite. She took our order, 2 cheeseburgers, 2 fries & 2 cokes. The burgers were freshly made & good but a little dry. The fries were good. I guess after I thought about it the bill was a little high. $23. Cheeseburger was $4 ea and fries $2.50 ea and I don't know how much the coke was!! Thats $13. Were the cokes $10?? I guess I should have asked questions!!! Oh well! So be it. We drive through Post, Tx pretty often. Almost always stop for something. My wife swears that they have the best fountain drinks on the South Plains. Whenever we're even close to a meal time, we'll eat here. Their burgers are outstanding; cooked the old fashioned way....soft buns. Nothing fancy, but consistently better than most. The tots are also great! As you might expect, their prices are very fair. It's just a roadside, locally-owned burger joint, but it beats nearly ALL of the chain burgers to death. This is a quaint drive-in, in small town America. They offer great burgers, sides, shakes, and other options. I'm a huge fan of their burgers and salads! Their chicken fajitas salad is amazing. We stopped here on our way to New Mexico. Overall, a pleasant experience. You walk into this joint and order at the counter. Pretty simple menu, burgers, fries, chicken strips, etc. Friendly people behind the counter who work fast to take your order and get you your drinks. I ordered the cheeseburger all the way with mustard. Good tasting burger with a toasted bun. I also opted for the curly fries- it was a no brainer since I'm a sucker for curly fries. I'm not gonna lie, I'd passed by this place driving to the panhandle more than a couple of times before stopping to sample. Once I finally did, I was not disappointed. The burger I had was greasy/delicious and the toppings were fresh, not to mention the crispy onion rings. Unfortunately, later stops were not as good. Old-fashioned Perfection. Right on the main drag as you drive through town, this old school hamburger joint is best experienced in your vehicle. Pull up in one of the Carhop Service spots at the front and order the cheeseburger combo. The fries are cooked perfectly and the burger is the best in the greater Lubbock area. We stopped here on a trip and were not disappointed. It is a good old fashioned drive in. You need to be able to take your time because all food is made to order so don't be in a rush. The food is delicious and takes me back to my childhood stops at a drive in. Malts and milkshakes from scratch! Only negative is the seating inside. If you are "larger" in size you may not be able to fit in their fixed seating. We tried to sit outside but even the picnic table was for skinny folks. Friendly people with fast service and if you dine indoors it's always clean quiet and the people are usually fast and helpful. I order there for work feeding 10 plus most of the time.
