One of the best burgers we've ever had! Took a different route on our trip just to be able to go through Post to get to eat there again!

After a day of endurance racing me and my wife were in need of a cheese hamburger and they delivered. We also ordered onion rings and it hit the spot. The staff were awesome and I'll definitely go back when I'm in town. It's a standard small town bar but they had some military stuff on the walls that made me happy. TLDR: Great food, great service, entertaining menu and decor (probably not great if you have littles, it is NSFW with a lot of inuendo), pet friendly and Bartender/cook/waitress Delight was great! Traveling through on Hwy 380 from Ft Worth back to New Mexico on Labor day and this was the first place we found open. Even the DQ was closed! It looks like a hole in the wall and the inside has plywood walls and the floor looked like someone wiped their greasy ketchup fingers all over it. The decor was inappropriate humor and we loved it! My husband and I had a good chuckle over most of the signs and decor. We seriously contemplated buying a tshirt. I ordered the Stripper Chick wrap and my husband got the sleazy Cheesy Moose burger. The chicken in my wrap was seasoned well and juicy and went well with all the fixings. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium and we both had onion rings that were crunchy but not over cooked. The portions were huge and well worth every penny! We had our two mostly well behaved dogs with us and they let us bring them in since there was only one other couple who didn't object. They told us they do a fundraiser every year where the proceeds go to the animal shelter. If you happen to be be near Post TX, this place is a must! read more

I agree that this is not a great place to eat if you are going to a gospel event. McDonald's is just a couple of blocks from there. However, if you are looking for a great place to eat in Northwest Texas this is just the ticket. I had the burger and it was at least a 1/3 pound and extremely tasty. My wife had the hamburger quesadilla. It was more than enough food for her. And was wonderfully enjoyable. My sister-in- law also had a burger and could not stop raving about how good it was. It was juicy and full of flavor. The fries were seasoned and were excellent and the tater tots were the best ones we have ever had. We had great service. Note it is a Bar & Grill, there might be people in there drinking and smoking. People do that when you go to a Bar & Grill. We are from West Texas and will be going back. read more

Stopped by to grab some food in the middle of our road trip due to great previous yelp reviews recommending this place. We fell in love! Unfortunately we did not get the bartender's name but she was the sweetest, most helpful person we've met! She gladly helped us with menu options and the biggest bonus was getting AMAZING recommendations on our destination! Thanks to her we stopped by Roswell which we never knew was known as the "alien town". The food was DELICIOUS! Definitely get the fat ass quesadillas! The food is made on the spot and completely fresh which made it taste more delicious. We were able to play pool while waiting for the food and also got some free photo booth pictures! Hand crafted Pattie's and taters. My wife had the crinkle cut fries and I splurged and went for the buds (tater tots). I picked this spot based on previous reviews and was greatly surprised. Food was excellent and service even better. Went in for lunch and we're the only ones there. Burgers were big and delicious. It's a little bit out in the middle of nowhere, but will be a place I sneak off to for lunch when I'm Lubbock or passing through. If you're a snowflake or sensitive don't go in. Fantastic hole in the wall type of place. Whoever the woman is cooking and serving drinks behind the bar, she works her tail off. Don't forget to tip. About the only place in Post for a cold beer (no beers on tap, just basic choices). Local joint with juke box and pool table. The food is interesting and substantial but not top notch, just big and greasy, but fairly good and would recommend. Amazing Burger! If you happen to be in the vicinity of Post, TX southeast of Lubbock, you need to stop and eat here. It's a hole-in-the-wall dive bar that sits on the side of the highway. I went there based on a recommendation from a oilrig hand. I got there with my buddy around 9 pm. It was just like a movie as everyone in the joint turned around and looked at us when we walked in the door. After trading a few jokes the barflies returned to their beers and we sat down. The menu is on a chalk board and as basic as it gets. Burgers, quesadillas, brats (?!?), and fries, etc. We both ordered cheeseburgers, fries and a beer. The food took a little while, but it was worth it! The burger was thick and juicy. The flavor was great! Maybe it was the griddle (which I guess hasn't been cleaned ever) or a nearby butcher but whatever it was don't change a thing. The fries were just fries, but they complimented the burger well. Cool awesome dive bar with food that will get you by but more importantly, great people and atmosphere! We were driving from Seattle on our way to Austin and we're lured in by the name. It was one of our favorite stops on our journey without a doubt. Outdoor dining is available, indoor smoking (would you expect anything else?), definitely a one-of-a-kind establishment. This is WAY off the beaten path. I have traveled through this area hundreds of times and never knew this place was here. I saw it mentioned by the head basketball coach of Texas Tech University as a great place to get a burger. Well, I was on the way to Lubbock and decided to give it a shot. About 4pm on a Saturday I walked in and about 6 people sitting at a bar (they were the only ones in there) looked back at me. I immediately thought about movies where the person who doesn't belong walks in to the wrong place. I walked on in and said I heard I could get a good burger here and the bartender said yes. Someone at the bar asked who had told me that and I mentioned the coach. He got up off his stool, came over, shook my hand and introduced himself, saying that was great and yes, they had the best burgers here. I ordered the mooseknuckle burger and fries. It is certainly a bar before anything else but I will say the food was good. I would go back, but probably not take my wife and kids - we are non-smokers and it was pretty smokey in there. There was a lot of good banter between the guys and the bartender, it was pretty lighthearted and funny. When I left, the same guy came over to ask how it was, thanked me for coming in and opened the invitation to come back. Really friendly folks, good food and certainly interesting. read more

Stopped here while driving around the area after reading good reviews. It's a small local bar and I love that the bartender cooks the food right in front of you. We saw her chop the tomatoes, onions, lettuce so you know it's fresh. Everyone was super friendly when we walked in but the downside is that you can smoke inside. That's why I'm taking away a star. First thing to do is Google the definition of the name. If you are offended....understand this place is a bar, not a place to eat. Previous reviews looked promising. We opened the door to dark, musty ashtray disguised as a building. I wouldn't recommend unless you are looking to hide from someone in a dark, smelly bar. We wanted to have lunch before attending the Ragtown Gospel Theatre. Totally disgusted by the smell and menu item names which were derogatory and the patrons sitting at the bar were offensive at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday. I would not recommend this place to anyone visiting the quaint little town of Post, Texas. It really left a bad taste in our mouth and horrible smell on our clothes, BUT the Ragtown Gospel Theater was worth the trip. read more

Everybody was friendly. I had my heart set on a burger but the patrons advised me to get a "fat ass" - so I ordered one... The waitress asked what I want on it, since I had no idea what it was, I replied "everything" Turns out the fat ass is a monster quesadilla with juicy hamburger meat, cheese, onions, jalapeños, tomatoes and season salt - everything a growing boy needs! It is a local bar, so smoking is allowed, but the waitress/bartender offered us the patio which was fantastic! The food was amazing! Best burger I've had in a long time. Hunted this afternoon and needed a spot a little later in the evening for dinner. Called in our order and they fired up some burgers and a big ass quesadilla! Wife and I took my 89 year old mother on our way back from Grand Canyon. One of only a couple of places open after 8 in Post, TX. Burgers and fries, and onion rings were great! Atmosphere was an adventure for my mother. Great beer garden and just a nice local watering hole! Don't let the outside fool you as said in previous reviews!
