[Note: I've been sitting on this review draft since January 2018. I wanted to make sure I wasn't reacting hastily in drafting this. Now that I've had some time to look back on my draft, I realize I am still upset by my interaction with the manager here and want to make sure other potential customers are at least aware of my experience.] Update to my last review: The manager, Babaina, called me and I didn't have a great experience speaking with him. He was extremely focused on my review and getting me to delete it at any expense. His tone was very accusatory to me as someone who posted a negative (and honest) review, that everything was all about his business and his presence and number of stars on Yelp. He did not seem concerned with satisfying me as a customer, saying sorry for my experience, or asking how they can do better as a business. (To be fair, I did not contact Hollywood Beauty Threading when I realized how bad my extensions were. Babaina says they would have fixed it.) Here is the timeline of events: December 7, 2017 Babaina called me (I suppose he got my phone number from their booking calendar). He was really concerned about my review, saying that it would affect their business, and asked if I would remove it. I did not feel comfortable removing my review (it was, after all, my honest experience). He offered a refund on my extensions, and then added a free threading in exchange for removing my review. I said I would UPDATE my review with my threading experience. I said I would not change or delete my original review unless I had a good extension from them, and I did not want to get an extension from the same person again. He agreed reluctantly with this. Babaina called me back in a few minutes and said he would bring someone from his Stonestown location to do extensions for me. I said if I had a good experience, then I would actually change my review. I also said that he wasn't getting a return customer out of me, as this person from Stonestown cannot normally come to the Mission location (which is near my home), but I supposed he just cared about the review getting removed. Yup, he didn't care about satisfying me as a customer long-term - he just wanted to get rid of that review. So we made an appointment for December 19. December 12, 2017 I called Babaina after looking up eyelash extension Yelp reviews at the Stonestown location (all very negative) and left a message asking to cancel the appointment we made. I wanted to give plenty of notice and didn't want the woman coming all the way from Stonestown to make a trip for nothing. Babaina called back a couple times, but left no message. I assumed if it was important enough, he would leave a message. I didn't have time to deal with this any more at that point as I was leaving the country the next week. January 1, 2018 I return home from the holidays and call Hollywood Beauty Threading asking if I could still get a refund for my extensions. They said they are not giving me any refund or make-up extension. I don't care that I didn't get any refund or make up extensions, but I don't care for the way Babaina spoke to me and treated me as just a transaction. He should have cared more about my experience as a customer and not been so accusational towards me. read more

Clean, reasonable and excellent staff! The girls here really know how to do their job. $10 for perfect eyebrow threading is a steal! It's not a fancy spot with frills but does the job. Highly recommended! read more

Hollywood beauty, I don't think so!!!!! If I could leave something lower than one star I would. Clara who supposedly a lash technician (clearly isn't) did my mothers lashes and actually damaged them by not applying lashes correctly, also product being used is low quality. The lashes they offer look like she purchased them from a local dollar tree store and cut them into individual lashes and attached them to peoples eyes. What a joke. Also she has no customer service at all, very rude and unpleasant. Don't go here, save your money and go to a professional instead. Further more, I can't express how unprofessional this establishment is. Earlier today my mother received various calls by lash tech harassing her and upset about this review that was also removed for this page by request of the establishment. I find this very rude, unprofessional, and frankly all around crazy. I assumed the call was for an apology and refund instead we got a heated rant. I've been coming here for a year and really love getting my eyebrows done by Kamala! Can't beat the speed, service, and price! I used to go to a fancier salon (Amiri) but abandoned it for this place even though it's a farther trip. Kamala does such a great job and the location is pretty convenient since it's a 2 minute walk from the BART station. Highly recommend! read more

Everybody knows how important eyebrows are to a girls face-- and I've been on the hunt for the PERFECT threading salon. Happen to stumble upon this walk from cafe to workout class and I am so glad I did! Threading is cheapest by far in town ($7) and eyelash extensions (half set) were only $40!!!! I got my lashes and brows done by Kala and she did an amazing job! She was very accommodating to my schedule, is punctual and highly responsive. Brows - quick and clean! Nearly painless for me. Lashes - slightly irritating with the glues and application steps necessary, but love the result and irritation goes away quick. Great price. Eyebrow Threading I came here for the first time since I had heard a lot of good things and I needed to find a new brow place. Wherever I go, I always ask for my brows just to be cleaned and above all, to not be thinned out. I never give reviews but I was left with the arch of my right brow threaded off from the top and the bottom and it was made into more of just a curve? I now have to fill it in so that it matches my left, otherwise, the right side of my face looks like its droopy or like I have a weird expression :( read more

After moving here from Chicago, I've been looking for a place that does both eyebrow threading & tinting in San Francisco for a reasonable price for several years. I've spent a maddening amount of time looking on Yelp only to find that the majority of places that offer threading don't offer tinting, and vice versa. Luckily, I came into Hollywood Beauty for threading and as I was about to leave, I double checked and asked if they offered tinting and to my surprise they do (it's not listed anywhere on their website)! While this isn't the most spectacular threading place I've been to, it is decent, affordable, and you can walk in. I will definitely be back (no more spending $50 on an appointment-only thread & tint for me)! read more

I not only went to get my lashes done but also my eyebrows! This was my second time doing lashes and I needed a refill. She was so nice and very quick! I believe we finished in an hour or 45 min which is way faster the other place I went to. Even though she was quick her work was spectacular! I recommend you doing your lashes here as they are quick, and very cheap. Next is my review for my eyebrows being threaded. I always get my brows threaded but I'm always scared to see that mirror after they're done my brows aren't even because of a scar. Most people overcompensate by making the scar too visible or they make my brows too thin to hide the scar completely. Either way, it's rough. BUT NOT HERE! I come here every two weeks for several months now for my eyebrow threading and upper lip and I'm not going to another eyebrow place. In my old eyebrow place, i'm always teary the procedure was painful but here in hollywood beauty threading she always did a great job, and of course my eyebrows on fleek. I don't have to give her instruction everytime, she knows how to shape my brows. They have good customer service and she's very kind and patient. Wow. This place is a hidden gem. In and out in no time. Nabima helped me out this time and took my caterpillar looking eyebrows and shaped them beautifully with precision. I had gone an extra week and a half and even with the additional hairy mess, she whipped me right into shape. She and anyone who has done my eyebrows the past few times are super kind and do a fabulous job. This time I did my upper lip as well and though it is somewhat painful, it is definitely worth it for both the price and the look. I'll never go back to wax after this place. Thank you so much!
