I want to start this review by saying that I am not the pickiest nail salon person! I go rather infrequently, only receive basic pedicures and manicures, gel polish occasionally. I go to salons that are priced well and that I can get a walk-in appointment. That being said, Hollywood Nails was a perfect fit for me... they took me last minute, the job was done well and quickly. They have taken major COVID precautions with masking and plastic shields everywhere. There is parking in the back which is convenient and lovely. My only negative is that the general cleanliness of the counter tops and area could have been better. Little bits of nails, and other people's skin around- so that made me a bit leery about the tools and whatnot. Even so, between the service, the job done, the price, the parking.. I used to just get my nails done by the owner Kia (awesome tech), but she wasn't keeping the appointments reliably so I moved to whoever was available. I stopped going because of one nasty chick that worked there. Lola or something? Doesn't matter. I called in and she answered when I asked for an appointment for the next day with Kia, she made the appointment. I came in (on time) and Kia wasn't there. I asked and was told she was on her way. After 20 minutes, a tech called her and told her her appointment was waiting and Kia was confused. She told her to tell me she was at her other shop and no one told her of the appt. So of course Lola said she'd do my nails-- but she was defensive and as I explained that I had repairs to nails and wasn't sure if starting over would be best -- she nastily responded "so what do you want me to do?" I asked for another tech. Where's the customer service? So much potential. I brought my family in and recommended them. Now none of us go there. I'm okay with that. Layla did my daughter's mani/pedi! I feel so relaxed! My technician -Julie was thorough and didn't hurt me! I have Runner's feet! They are not pretty! They hurt most days! My pedicure past experiences made it hard to run the next day because the technician way too often wanted to use cuticle cutters on my "long distance miles" callouses. So today I have happy feet! I'll try to keep this short and simple. I came in on a Sunday with my mentee to get her nails done and my feet done. The next day I realized that my polish looked like the pictured below. I went into the nail salon to inform them what happened . The customer service was HORRIBLE. I felt like I was being interrogated one of the employees . I was asked a lot of questions. One lady offered to take $10 off. It was more about the principle not the money ( although that played a factor as well). Why would I accept $10 off when my toes still will look like this? The same employee that was asking me a lot of questions eventually kept saying " I don't know what you want us to do if you can't get it fixed right now and you don't want $10 off ." As if I had to be on her time when I'm a very busy person myself. I came back in on that Friday and they "fixed" my toes , Actually the same lady who was getting smart with me . The manager asked me if they could do my big toes over and this is the result . I honestly wanted to get my feet redone somewhere else but I like to give people chances... never again here . The technicians were friendly and tried to make conversation. The salon seems pretty clean and well maintained. I went a little before 4 PM on a Tuesday and there were no other customers. They had a total of 3 employees. The service was pretty quick, not rushed though. I know I don't have the great nails but I'm not thrilled with the way the French manicure came out. The polish dripped a little onto my skin so it felt like my skin was a little glued to the nail. The cuticle cutter they were using didn't seem sharp and it was tugging at my skin more than normal. I saw that they have cash specials Monday through Wednesday for Mani/Pedi combinations. My gel French manicure was $25.00. read more

They are okay. The women who work there are very accommodating and nice which is why I decided to rate them 3 stars. However, the lady who did my nails seemed very annoyed after I did not like my paint job (the gel looked very melted off, the design I asked for was very off). I nicely asked her to redo it and I'm pretty sure she charged me for it even though it was clearly very messy. They are expensive for the quality. There is another nail girl that seemed overbooked that does a way better job. I wish I would have known. Probably not coming back. They do not accept credit/debit cards but they have an ATM. just warning people now this place is a scam!!!!!!!!!! my cousin has prom this weekend and had went in to get her nails done. she had asked for longer-ish nails and wanted an almost french tip but on the sides kinda style. they said with the design it would be $105! she ended up saying to not to the design and asked for a new price. THEY CHARGED HER $80. this price only included the acrylic and shape w a gel top coat. she didn't even get them painted. the lady had said the length was $40z absolutely ridiculous this place is horrible and not worth the price read more

Unreliable. I've had more than one bad experience at this shop. Terrible customer service besides Tia & Rain. Julie doesn't seem like a seasoned tech. She did my pedicure and it was terrible, I could have done it myself. She won't touch your cuticles. I had to offer to do it myself before another nail tech clipped them with an attitude. I had another bad experience, but I don't remember her name. I still always tipped more than 20%, and give everyone a tip that helped me. More recently, I had an early appointment, and waited 30 minutes for anyone to arrive. I wasn't upset, because I understand things happen. Last week, I had an appointment arrived and no one was there, I waited an hour. All the lights were on, I tried to call but there is no voicemail. I attempted to contact the shop through IG & email. I received an email many hours later, it wasn't very sympathetic, there was no we can do xyz for you, no customer service. The shop was having maintenance issues, that's understandable but let people know beforehand! Inform your booked clients, don't allow people to book appointments, stop the automated reminders, put something on your social media, forward your calls to the manager, something. Nothing proactive was done. What I got in return is being removed as a follower on IG lol. I drive from Philly to support, when I could have been going to somewhere closer. I've brought my family, I've recommended the shop to people who still go, and I've even shared some things on IG to promote them. I try to support minority businesses the best I can. I may not go every week but my time is valuable & so is my money & the people I've recommended who I'll make sure won't return. I've always been kind, but I guess customer service & value doesn't matter when you're black. I'm really disappointed. read more
