I went today for a pedicure since I live nearby for the convenience . never ever again . the older woman did my pedicure and cut my third toe on my right foot very badly . that was an hour ago and I'm still bleeding and it's burning very bad . she knew she did it but didn't apologize she only thing she said it hurts now but will be better soon . She still charged me full price . i tried to call regarding a refund but they must be closed now . I honestly didn't know how bad it was until I got in the car !My daughter was with me and was shocked when she saw this injury . she also didn't paint my entire nails on either feet . I decided to treat myself to an upgrade sugar scrub and paid $65 for this. I asked for neon yellow with a white base so it would pop. The white was so sloppy and you can see the white lines and the uneven yellow. He kept hitting the lamp with my toes and I mentioned it to him. After I got him I realized he didn't even paint my full pinky toe. I was working from my laptop so I wasn't studying it to too closely until it was time to pick up my kids and I couldn't wait around to have it fixed. Wtf?! Totally ridiculous! Two times in and both times left frustrated during my mani/pedi due to language barriers. Decided to try one more time yesterday and I just about walked out!!! The young man for the pedi was nice but the language barrier was huge and he destroyed my nails. I will now have to my acrylics removed and start all over as he filed them down nearly to my finger after I told him I wanted them kept long. Then he rebuilt them back up and left all thick acrylic build up on the inside of the nail and I've had one already break die to this in less than 24 hrs. My nails look so puny and I'm very unhappy with the results. Not to mention they do not have you wash your hands which makes the Dremel dust that ends up in on the nail during the polish. Such a nice location though so it's a shame. I will not be back for the "third time's a charm". read more

I had the best experience at Hollywood Nails with my future MIL, aunt, and grandma. They have new rules for COVID that an appointment is necessary, and they had as sign a waiver and get our temperature checked upon entry. The salon was very clean, and they had plastic dividers between customers, as well as some chairs blocked off for social distancing. I got a gel manicure, while the ladies I was with got pedicures. The nail technician really took his time, and did a great job on my cuticles, as well as filing down my nails and carefully applying the polish. He also ended my mani with a hand massage and a hot towel. Overall, I was very impressed with the precautions in place, the cleanliness, the service, and attention to detail given to us. read more

I went to this nail salon today with my husband. We both got manis and pedicures. The woman who did my pedicure was very condescending to me and kept talking to the male employee next to her after saying something to me. My toe nail polish wasn't done well. There were air bubbles on my toe nails and the polish was very thick and appeared to be old. I got a gel manicure and again the young woman who did my nails was rude and acted like she didn't want to be a work. My finger nails looked nice and I gave her a 20% tip even though she wasn't nice. This nail place use to be very clean as the owners were on top of things. Now? It isn't clean. The tray at the pedicure state was very dirty. I asked the nail manicurist who the owner was? Her reply was "we all are the owners". I will not go back and I won't refer anyone to this nail salon. read more

Ugh. What a frustrating experience. Went in for a pedicure and a manicure (had to take dip powder off). I chose the rose spa pedicure & there was nothing "rose" about it. I got a citrus scrub and the callous remover was weak. I'm used to getting callus remover applied and wrapped - this was just squirted on and washed off. Not sure how effective that was. In addition, the skin on my cuticle on my big toe was scraped with the buffer, making it uncomfortable. My manicure was an epic fail. . I was sat with a gentleman wearing latex gloves. I advised him that I'm allergic to latex and he reached for me with his gloves on & said they are powder free. I don't think nail salons understand the severity of some latex allergies. I asked him to change his gloves and he started speaking another language to the woman next to him and walked away. Didn't say anything else to me. I was just left sitting there. The woman working here stopped doing her customer's nails and started coming at my nails with a drill. I told her these are my natural nails with dip powder and she looked like she didn't believe me. She started trying to lift a fake nail off my nails that didn't exist!! She started drilling on high speed and burned my nail. I should have walked out at this point. She used the drill to remove all the polish, then soaked my nails in acetone anyway. After all that, she continued doing her original customer's nails. After my nails were soaked, another guy did my manicure. The polish was going on funky - streaky and watery. He kept getting cotton and debris on my nails and painting over it. I had to keep pointing out the bumps and dust (this is a first for me). He put on four coats on all my nails except for my pinkie nails, which had three coats plus top coat. It was beyond thick! He put me at the drying table and the polish started bubbling up and pouring to one side of my nail. He came to check on me and told me to be more careful! I was literally just sitting there. Then he sprayed it with the "fast dry" stuff and the polish wrinkled on several nails. He again told me to be careful! I finally told him I'm just sitting here trying to dry and the polish was too thick. He repaired my pointer finger with another layer of polish and now they just looked redic. After lots of going back and forth, I asked him to remove the polish. He insisted that I pick out another color, which I did and the application was better but again, the cotton and debris was an issue! My cuticles are raw, my nails are bumpy, and the polish looks rough. Never again. It's too bad because this place is close to home and appears clean. There were also signs all over the salon & I mean ALL OVER - to please pay cash because of the high credit card fees. There is also a sign to email the owners (Dan and Sarah I think) if an employee does a bad job or service isn't good. I'm thinking the sign is there for a reason. Perhaps I should have taken a photo so I could email them. A woman was trying to use their ATM to pay cash (signs say the salon will pay for ATM fees). I felt bad for her because she kept trying to take out $80 on several transactions and it wouldn't work. One of the employees told her that the ATM Won't work if the phone rings, which was happening often. I don't know about everyone else, but I just don't trust those no-name ATMs. If the fees are that much of an issue with the credit cards, give cash paying customers a discount instead of posting those signs everywhere. This spa is under new ownership and the experience was anything but pleasant. The pedicure was ok but NO attention paid to the ball of either foot. While my toes were drying the technician started on my nails and covered me with dust from taking off the gel. Got that straight and another person took over for my nails. He put the acetone on that removes the gel polish and left me for close to 25 minutes. I asked what happened and was told he was in the back but looked around and saw him doing a pedicure. I know help is short and they're doing what they can but all he had to do was tell me and not just let me sit. This is a luxury I afford myself and rest assured I will go someplace else. read more

Let me first preface this by saying that I came in with the worst my nails have ever looked. I recently moved to Wilmington 9 months ago. I have been the three salons. The latest was the best thus far. I have been going to get my nails done for 20 years so I consider myself someone who has an eye for good salons. I came across this salon on my way home from work. This Salon has changed ownership since my earlier review. It is still clean and attractive and the service is good. They are usually very busy and I recommend making an appointment. They frequently have to come back in an hour or two. Prices are still good and Seniors get a discount Mondays and Tuesdays. Just a little less friendly and personal as the service plave used to be. Horrible customer service. Two people came in an hour after us without an appointment. One lady asked if they were next and they said yes. Meanwhile my mom and sister had been waiting an hour. When confronted it turned out that they had thrown the first sign in sheet away. The woman who my mom complained to was extremely rude about the situation and didn't offer anyway to fix it and then threw the sheet back in the trash! She said there's nothing she could do because the two girls said they were first. The least they could do is follow the sign in sheet! I come here bc it's convenient but I will never be back. I was recommended to this place, and while the service was fine, I was a but dismayed that when I presented the Yelp Check-In $10 discount, it wasn't honored. The gentleman politely stated "this promotion wasn't for his store-he has called Yelp and they won't take it down." I showed the offer was to the address listed, but he refused to honor it. I will never give them another dime of my money. I didn't use them the last time I went for a pedicure because they were closed. Another lady walked in about 15 seconds before I entered and she must have been immediately seated. No one was seated in the waiting area. When I walked in I was greeted with, "good morning, how can I help you?" I responded with, "pedicure please." She looked at me and said, "we don't have time for you." There were some pedi chairs occupied and there was some vacant. She never gave me the opportunity to wait as a walk-in customer. If you offer walk-ins, then the professional thing to do is give the customer the opportunity to decide if they want to wait or not. As I was walking out, two other women were walking in. I found this place on Yelp and decided to check it out as I needed a manicure and pedicure . The atmosphere was very welcoming . The man who did my pedicure was very thorough although I did ask for gel and he did regular . My gel manicure was done beautifully. My only complaint here is that there was a yelp coupon for $10 off your first service which I presented to ( I think the owner) on my phone. He said they wouldn't honor it because it is a mistake and people keep bringing it in and he was trying to fix the problem. I feel he should have honored it for a first time customer. I can't even give this place a star rating !!! The only reason why I am giving this place one star is I can't post this review without giving a star rating!!!!! I went into the salon at 7:00pm and was told they were closing at 7:15pm although the sign clearly stated that closing time was 7:30pm. I just wanted a nail fill in you would think that they could and would accommodate me even if it ran over the closing time by a few minutes. my fill in for a manicure...Needless to say they did a horrible job and I'm never one to complain and a very easy customer in the nail world....after telling the guy I wanted two of my nails fixed( which he charged $10 for the nails I wanted fix) before he even finished drilling or filing or start the paint job he become very rude and offended that I asked him to correct it. He said you didn't come here for the first set I said I know that and I informed him of what nail shape I wanted and he went to far down with the drill and I had 2 gift certificates to use here worth $65. I personally feel that I shouldn't had to pay because he rushed through and nail service was awful and it's not like I was going to leave with acrylic nails halfway drilled on and he kept saying it's not my fault I didn't put the original set on and causing a scene. This business is clearly about making money and absolutely do not care about the customers. Inclusion they may be a good business and people but for a first experience it was TERRIBLE! I have been going to this salon regularly- even before the new management change. Today, I went in to get a pedicure and made an appointment beforehand to come in. An APPOINTMENT. The gentleman sits me and I am patiently waiting, for about 30 minutes, I was told I was next, because I had an appointment. The guy doing the lady's nails next to me finishes.. looks around, and a new lady walks in, with no appointment and tells me that I will have to wait longer. I had already been waiting patiently- nobody asked me how the water was, no interaction, nothing. He tells me another lady will do my pedicure, and she's just starting to trim another woman's toenails?? There was no one in line before me or after me, and he just takes someone else. So I literally just calmly gathered my stuff and left. I enjoyed coming here, but I will take my business elsewhere from now on, or at least until management can get it together, or their booking process is different. Don't advertise appointments when it doesn't matter, or you take whoever at whatever time, and certainly don't look over your customers that have chose to come here to spend their hard earned money at your salon. read more
