After another half an hour, 1 hour has passed in total; called, picked up after several dial-tones then hung up. This Taxi's Customer Service is very rude and would highly recommend to use any other service (Uber, Lyft, etc.), if possible. I was at the taxi stand at FLL to get a taxi to my hotel. When one of the friendly checker taxis…read morepulled up I told the driver I needed to pay by credit card. He said okay. When I got in, he started driving and he kept pressing buttons on the meter and told me it wasn't working. He said it was only $23 (my hotel is 1.7 mikes away from FLL) So I told him to take me back to the airport so that I could get a different taxi because I needed to pay by credit card. Then the meter magically started working. By the time we got to the hotel the meter said $8.85. I paid with my credit card but he got angry and said it was a $23 minimum. And we argued for a bit. He was getting angrier and more intimidating and I was getting scared so I just added a 13$ tip to make the total charge $23. I would not have expected such a scam from a taxi that I got from the airport stand. Especially since I told him from the beginning that I needed to pay by credit card. I'm sure I'm not The first person to have this happened. Do yourself a favor and get a Lyft!
