The preacher had a great message, and overall, I really liked him. The worship team was very talented, although I didn't think the song choices were the best. There wasn't much interaction between the members of the church. It didn't really appear that people knew each other or talked to one another, which made the environment feel less inviting. Nothing bad happened, and everyone was friendly enough, but I just didn't get the sense of community I was looking for. Overall, it was a decent church, but I'll continue looking to find one that feels like a better fit for me.

I have been attending services at St. Joseph Cathedral for years and years…read more I first became acquainted with the Cathedral while working as an assistant to a very famous man downtown. On an almost daily basis, he made a habit of attending the noontime masses during the week. I would walk with him, and, wishing to give him some space during the service, and also because I am not Catholic, I would sit some distance away. I became very comfortable with my visits to the Cathedral, and the messages delivered with those I found to be quite meaningful. I made known from time to time that I was Baptist, but this didn't seem to matter, and I was always welcomed at each visit. Saint Joseph and the community there are as much a home church to me now all these years later as my "normal" home Baptist Church. I feel welcome and enjoy the services and music immensely. There are special services for major holidays and days of obligation. The mass on Christmas Eve is wonderful and I certainly recommend attending church on that day. Parking can be found to the rear of the cathedral and in several flat lots and garages nearby, as well as on the street. During Christmas season, beginning prior to Thanksgiving, a large full-size nativity display can be found outdoors. This is the same display that for years was in place during the holiday. Season at the State Auto Insurance Headquarters further down Broad Street. The mass schedule can be found online at the cathedral website address. If you were looking for a quiet respectful place that is welcoming to all people of faith, as well as those who want to learn more and perhaps make a decision toward Christianity, Saint Joseph Cathedral is an excellent place to start.

Having a background in art history I was absolutely thrilled to find the place open. The architecture was gorgeous, and while I didn't take too many pictures to be respectful of those praying, I highly recommend stopping to take a look at this beautiful and unexpected building. I attended an Episcopal church in Michigan even though I am a Quaker. Only Quaker Meeting House in Columbus is a silent meeting and I prefer a program meeting. So I found the closest Episcopal church. From the time I walked up to the church, I was welcomed by all. Enjoyed hearing the songs I heard before. The sermon was wonderful with a humor included. The coffee hour after I talked to many people and even given a welcoming gift. As long as I am in Columbus, I will come back. One thing I have learned is that the Episcopalians welcome those from different faiths to join them. In my travels in life, many churches I have attended judged you if you believed different. Since I or EBS didn't, this is a deal breaker for me.

Love what they're doing to get young people back in the church…read more This was my first time attending this location, although I'm actually here all the time since they're attached to The Dream Center, a nonprofit that serves the homeless, lower income, and people in human trafficking. The lobby area is tighter than the UA campus, but it's good because greeters are more apt to see you and talk to you. They seem to be much nicer here. They were selling apparel in the lobby, so I had to take a look. Got myself a windbreaker to rep the church. I recognize a lot more faces at this campus. It was nice. Service was great. The singers on stage were also good. Seems like more undergrads tend to be at this campus since it's close by. You can sit upstairs in the balcony or downstairs. The space is smaller than UA, but it's a good size since UA has more people. They have Wednesday and Sunday night services too. We were at the 10:45am service and it was still filled with lots of people. I saw a few families, older people, and definitely some students. Parking is tricky. Since I volunteer here on occasion, I know to drive through into the second spot. Otherwise, wait a while before leaving. Would love to come back again though! I enjoyed the energy on stage. The high ceilings also made the space feel a bit more open. They're made of wood. I felt close to nature. Lol.

I was glad I took the trip here, the members were very friendly, knowledgeable in their studies, the atmosphere very inviting and shrine room magnificent. I plan on returning for further studies. Although big, the church has various small groups that meet during the week and weekends in homes or sometimes at the church. These groups are Bible study groups. Some groups are social groups as well. There is always a way to get connected with others even though the church is big. Attendance declined a little bit after COVID but many people still come to Vineyard Columbus or the other smaller campus locations. The lead Pastor for a long time was Rich Nathan. In 2021, Eric and Julia Pickerill became the lead Pastors but stepped down in winter 2026. Currently, Vineyard Columbus is searching for a new full time main Pastor. I attended Vineyard Columbus when I lived in Columbus during my University/College years. I loved the sermons and the optional small group meetings. Back then, there used to be a young adults group called Joshua House that had various social outings and praise and worship nights. I enjoyed attending a retreat once with Joshua's House which was fun. Church is welcoming/inviting and they offer complimentary tea and coffee in an open gathering area. They also offer free used and new books in this open area. They have Spanish services available too which is nice. It didn't get overly packed. A lot of people came late and even while Rich started preaching. Lol. It's known for being culturally diverse which is cool! I'll bet it's easier to find more of these types of churches in larger cities. Worship is always good. Longer than I'm used to. They sing a good mix of gospel, some older contemporary, and newer contemporary. The singers are so talented! They have such powerful voices! They are so aware of culture that they also sang one part of a song in Spanish. Awesome! The sermon is academic. Rich Nathan used to teach at OSU, so it makes sense that he'll bring in all kinds of knowledge into his sermon. They're long. It may've been an hour long sermon, I think? They speak openly about social issues and are aware of things that the city is failing to do. But they don't say this to point fingers, they say it to show that churches can do more to help the community. They even help out with ESL! They guide you through communion which I think is fantastic! Not sure why some church plants don't do this... they even read the scripture in another language! On Sunday, the guy read it in Farsi! Very cool! It's a nice church! I've never had trouble with parking or anything. There are two lots on either side of the building. There's also a cafe in here that serves food! It always smells good and I would love to try it if I'm ever back here again. A lady greeted us at the door which was nice. They don't have greeters into the sanctuary. I'm so used to it that it was different that they don't do this. But it's only because they have the pamphlets and communion stuff prepacked on a table before you take a seat.
