When I dropped him off, they truly listened to everything I said. They were happy to give him treats (which he loves, and it makes a huge difference), they Dremeled his nails exactly like I asked, and they were careful with his ears--he's sensitive to ear flushes, so I requested just water, and they followed that perfectly. When I dropped her off, I also made it clear that she should not be body-clipped and that I only wanted her feathering trimmed. After the appointment, I called to understand what happened and how this miscommunication occurred. Alison was very apologetic and explained that the receptionist's notes said to do a 1/2" trim all over. If there was any confusion about those notes, I wish the groomer had called me before starting to confirm that I actually wanted my dog shaved. City Dogs did issue a refund, but I'm extremely disappointed, and now there's a real possibility that my dog's coat will not grow back correctly.

She actually was recomnded by our vet. The vet had nothing but the highest praise for Kim and it is well justified. We are often out of town and Kim is kind enough to board our dogs. They love her and accept her home as their second home. I cannot express how grateful we are for our vet recommending Kim years ago. She is the best!!

I have gone to Kim for over 20 yrs, and I'm a person not easily impressed...I have had my dogs when traveling or Kim was to busy to fit them in (my fault) and each time my only thought was "I wish I was back home so Kim could straighten out this mess". Now, no longer traveling ..going to Kim's and my having no concerns about how my dog will look (you can't believe some of the disasters I've seen on grooming my westie :( argggg) I get to drop Sophie off, knowing she's in good hands. My pup gets so excited about going to Kim's that the minute I turn on the road to Kim's place, she starts howling in joy ...she adores Kim. She settles in when she arrives for her "beauty appointment"...and I get a break (just like a mother who drops her child off at school!) and get to go to lunch or shopping without her hitting all the electric windows and door locks as she runs from window to window...once locking me out when I stopped for gas). If you really want not only a great grooming experience for your dog but the confidence that you'll have no worries about their care...then I highly recommend Kim's grooming. My dog is elderly and have very dry skin that irritates him badly; they have him an oatmeal bath and lavender conditioning treatment, trimmed his nails, cleaned his ears. We connected with another awesome groomer in Oak Harbor but then she became unresponsive. We had a very bad experience with grooming at a local vet clinic and I was thinking I'd have to drive to Seattle to find a good cat groomer. So I was elated to find Michelle. I was hesitant to try someone new because I didn't want to put our cat in another compromising situation, but Michelle was fantastic. She's very communicative, she didn't demand that our cat be drugged before grooming, she was unbelievably fast, and her place is super peaceful -- I've never seen more than one fur baby in her studio at a time. Our cat lost part of her jaw after being hit by a car and has trouble keeping her long fur clean. Michelle's expert grooming makes it easy for our kitty to stay clean and be even more adorable than she already is in her special lion cut. Super nice person, loves animals, terrific pricing, easy location. Just WINNING all the way around.

I said explicitly that we have poor cell reception and that email or landline would be best, but on three different occasions she left cell messages. I emailed and texted three or four times and got no reply. I missed an appointment because I could not reach her to say there was flooding; her phone directed me to the website. Really the problem is that she didn't care to adjust to our communication needs. Beyond that, she was less than professional when I talked to her about this. She said (paraphrased) 'do you know how many emails I get every day'? If she cannot be bothered to figure out how to get in touch with clients, or arrange things so that people can reach her, she needs to reconsider her business setup.
