Turns out they inactivated her because she hasn't been in for a while (keep in mind these were the years of lockdowns.) In the meantime, I have been in contact with questions through the patient portal had virtual sick visits with my other kids and had even been seen in office with my other two..My daughter has been perfectly healthy, there was no need to bring her in. Now when I actually need a doctors help they refuse to see her. No warning, no heads up. I'm told they're not taking new patients so she can no longer be seen even though she's been going there since birth. I'm sure they are well aware how difficult it is to get a new doctor nowadays. Absolutely no compassion for my sick child.

As such he does not accept health insurance and his office visits can be rather expensive when one has to pay out of pocket for the entire visit. He does spend a good amount of time listening to his clients, as compared to traditional medical doctors. Since he cannot prescribe medication, he will sell you his own private label vitamins and supplements as well as a "healthy" diet. Because he cannot prescribe FDA approved medicines, my results are mixed using supplements and diet. Overall I feel better, but the specific issue I went to him for remains unresolved. I have reccomend others to him.

Typically, doctors treat the symptoms of the problem but Dr. Castanho looks for the root cause of the health concern(s). I'm excited to continue working with a doctor as phenomenal as him! I jump through hoops to get these medical records over to them which probably took about a month and a half maybe longer. Once they finally got them, I was told to call and set up an appt. I tried doing that but was told by the receptionist that Dr. Johanson would review the records and someone would be in touch to set up an appt. I NEVER HEARD FROM THIS OFFICE AGAIN! I called and asked for a note for my son to join me in the gym saying he was cleared for physical activity and received it, but a year later they denied the same for my daughter. I was blown away that they would refuse to do so because according to the Dr it would be unsafe for a 9 year old- even though I am a CPT and I know my daughters capabilities and limits. Welcome to the new age of western medicine. Pills and needles for everyone, but don't train your children in how to take of their bodies autonomously. Finding a new provider now.
