We were greeted by a salesman names James who took his time to understand what I was looking for and showed me all of the options I had in store and then took me back to re-review! He even did some homework helping me with measurements and such! He was so kind and patient and very helpful in offering opinions and suggestions. I'm an indecisive person so he helped me narrow things down and asked all the right questions. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything which I appreciated! I plan to bring my husband back! Hom Furniture, Bloomington Mn. mattress update: Boy oh Boy was I wrong about Hom Furniture, and poor Julia. My previous review was basically accurate but way too venomous! I didn't give Julia any credit for eventually helping me which she did indeed! The mattress technician came out yesterday. He listened to my story, didn't give me any idea how it would turn out. Completed a complete inspection which also included several pictures of the hump. it took about a half hour, which was fine as I am retired and had all day. I eagerly awaited for customer service to call, which I expected would take a couple of days, but much to my delight happened this morning. It was not Julia as she is not even in the customer service department! She apparently is in a different department entirely and poor dear was just filling in for a little while. She did a good job but I was irate (but not loud or rude) just pretty demanding. The call came from Paige who gave me the wonderful news that even though the manufacturer wouldn't' warranty the old (almost new) mattress, she explained Hom was going to!!! My new mattress is being delivered next Thursday! They are waiving the $179.00 swap fee and only charging me $100.00 for the delivery. I reserved it a few months ago and they continued to hold it in one of their many warehouses. It is a more expensive and better mattress that I chose from their excellent website. Am I ever thrilled!!! GO Hom furniture! I am very pleased to be a devout customer for life. When in need again I won't shop anywhere else. I eagerly can wait for a few months to acquire the funds (fixed income and don't ever pay interest on loans). Our next purchase will be this fall on a new high quality recliner for my 74 yr. Young wife of 44 years. We can hardly wait! We are looking forward to it with another well trained sales person. HORRIBLE customer service! Purchased a mattress in 2017, a TEMPURPEDIC at that! Our bed is dented and they refuse to file it as defective. We had previously purchased an icloud in 2011, that mattress was defective and was replaced within a month. We decided to go again with HOM furniture because they were great in the past, but now, their new management refuses to supply us with a new mattress that has a clear indentation and is causing us back pains and sleepless nights. If you don't want good rest, buy from them. Ps. Went to store and employee told us to purchase a second mattress, because apparently that's what they tell their customers when they want to resolve problems from past purchases. Cute. I think we are be cohersed into not returning our chairs at any cost. We complained about the quality and feel of the chairs not being the same as the Demo chairs at the store within 24 hrs. A tech was sent and tried to amend a few issues 2 weeks later as scheduled by the service dept. Now 1 chair has a snag in the gliders travel - mechanical failure of some kind from the feel of it. and this is the chair no one sits in normally. Now we are told its past the 7 day return policy and the finger was squarly pointed at the Vendor by mangement. The store has no control? We will likely have to sell these chairs on Marketplace to recover something as we can not even return with the 40 percent restock fee. Shame on this Store Coon Rapids store in Minnesota. read more

I purchased a mattress at HOM Furniture this past weekend. I unfortunately did not check my invoice. When I did look at my invoice on Monday I found that the sales person had put down the wrong SKU code, and the result was I was charged for a king size mattress versus the queen size I intended to purchase. The difference in price was like $538. I called on the 25th and advised them of their error and was told they would correct it however, it would take over a week for me to receive the credit for the overcharge. The charge for the purchas appeared on my American Express card minutes after the transaction was made but I have to wait seven days for the credit to appear. Somethings wrong with that picture I was told it was because the banks processed things that way. No mention of any other compensation for my troubles and inconvenience. Sure they apologize but that doesn't put money back on my account nor does it satisfy me. I am very disappointed in HOM Furniture. I mistakenly thought they would accommodate my request since it was their sales person that made the error. I am not a happy camper. read more

Y'all! Do not let this place fool you! Their customer service is TRASH. We bought 2 couches, a sectional, an ottoman, a dining table and 8 chairs. One of our couches were delivered broken, our sectional was only half delivered and the dining room chairs were wrong! The delivery personnel took the dining room chairs back and said customer service would reach out soon. Customer service reached out and said we could go PICK UP the chairs that we already paid to have delivered! We go to pick them up and they say, sorry, you have to pay for these because we never received the wrong ones back! What?! I mean what a nightmare. They are supposed to send a technician out to fix the one couch and our arm chair to our sectional Will arrive in 2 months. Save yourself y'all! Just bought a couple chairs and a sofa. They only do garage delivery and now I know why. They leave with the items still wrapped up and once we got them in the house and I wrapped them we found a bunch of damage from the delivery. Now I have a brand new couch that's held up by my old college textbooks. We have a service request in I will update my review based on the quality of their service. As far as the store and salespeople go they are nice and I have no complaints there it just peeves me when a store is willing to leave damaged goods. Edit: Bumped up to 3 stars. They replaced the couch with full delivery and haul away no hassle. Also they fixed the squeaking chair (loose bolt). They still only get three stars due to the inconvenience of them dropping off faulty goods. I will continue to shop here their customer service saved the day. read more

He was able to accommodate us with a great price, even matching what was online, and took care of getting delivery to our lake home which is out of town and within the dates that we needed it to happen. He was very personable and knew exactly what to do. We came back to add another item to our order later, and he was able to work it out so it could all be delivered at the same time. Yeah, they do hover! But isn't that what salespeople do? We ordered furniture from HOM as the quality was better than those at other stores. The "lowest price" ended up being an additional hagel with salesperson to get 15% more off. Delivery driver missed the first window and we were out of town for the second delivery. Driver came during one of our snow storms though and carried the items into the house- which was appreciated. They missed a mirror on the dresser but had it delivered to the store which we were able to pick up. And they have fresh cookies which tummy appreciates. read more

I was so upset went I went to them after I told them they're the one whose took the surprise Element about my husband gift this year 2022 they email him the receipt and call him for drop off even when I already told them not to used his email or cell# because going to be a surprise for him . When I show up to schedule the drop off I told them my dilemma the guy just say sorry and rambling about how good the recliner chair my husband is going to have , probably it's not a big deal for them to discarded me under the rug but I'm waiting for 3 year to do something like that to my husband and the only thing they can say was SORRY! I submitted a warranty claim for my Jackson Furniture Everest Sectional I bought in December, 2011. After just a couple years the frame broke, the armrests became dented and the back cushions lost all fluffiness. I had just finished college and this was my first major purchase and $2,000 was a heck of a lot of money for me at the time. Recently I found my old paper work from my purchase and remembered that there was a "Lifetime" Warranty on the product. I submitted a claim through Hom - Bloomington, and they are unwilling to fix the couch. After being very persistent, they finally agreed to pay for the parts and I pay for labor. You and I both know that labor is the expensive part of any repair. Our couch is under reasonable, normal usage. It doesn't sit in the sun, is cleaned regularly, there are not kids jumping on it, and there are only 2 adults in the household. According to Sotheby's, a good quality couch (which I was sold that this was) should last 10-15 years, not 3-5. The warranty covers manufacturer defects, which there obviously was since we have used it normally for the past 5 years. I walked in there a couple weeks ago looking for something else, and the first thing the saleswoman tried to do was sell me the exact same couch! The salespeople and the warranty people at Hom - Bloomington are a bunch of crooks. Don't trust them as far as you can throw them. read more

We ordered a sofa and a recliner from HOM Bloomington. Our order was delivered 'on time' 6 months later which was expected. However, the recliner was the wrong one. HOM wanted us to accept the chair delivered, but we insisted it was the wrong one. A few weeks later, they called and said they 'found' our chair. The chair was delivered but damaged, and HOM said the repair would take some time. As of this writing the chair has not been repaired. Further, payment to our credit card, previously in dispute, is now due, because HOM said the chair was 'delivered'. HOM 'customer care' has been absent during this entire process, with no apologies, or continuous engagement. Needless to say, we will not be ordering furniture from HOM again. read more

The sales rep was awesome. After that it went down hill. We purchased a $4500 bed from the HOM store in Bloomington. Our sales rep was professional, knowledgeable and super friendly. I don't know about anyone else but a $4,500 bed is a big purchase for us. normally we wouldn't pull the trigger on that purchase on the spot but again the sales rep was awesome and sold us on the quality of the bed so we went for it. We were directed to the finance area where the representative that helped us seemed uninterested and ill-informed about what process and price the bed actually was, and what we should pay for upfront. Again when we spend $4,500 for a bed we were kind of expecting the red carpet. she next told us someone would call us in 24 hours to set up a delivery day and time, never happened. We ended up having to call them and they told us the delivery would be the next day in a 2-hour window. Standard procedure. The delivery guys showed up and as they were bringing the bed in they dropped the motor for the bed on the sidewalk. once they installed the bed they were surprised that the motor didn't work, duh! they said they'd call in and someone would call us about getting a new motor it would take a few days, so much for enjoying our bed right away. we also paid an additional $20 for them to take away the old mattress and box spring, they took the box spring but left the mattress in the living room and left. I called them 5 minutes after they left and let them know that they forgot the mattress, oh darn the driver said and hung up. They never came back for it. It's sat in our living room for 2 days while we waited for them to bring the motor back. Finally the big day arrives, we're going to get the motor for the bed and the queen size mattress taken out of our living room hooray! The two drivers that showed up did a great job and seemed generally upset with the original 2 installers. They replaced the motor, took the old queen size mattress out of our living room and we're on their way in a timely manner. Hopefully we'll get a good night sleep on our new motorized $4,500 bed tonight. P. S. We never did see the red carpet we were expecting, they must have been out of stock. read more

I walked into Hom furniture on Memorial Day thinking there would be tons of good deals. I was greeted at the door and directed to the right section. Wandered around for at least 15 to 20 minutes before anyone came to help. We had booked a time slot and i wrongly assumed that meant a person would be there to help us. Unfortunately, this person really did not know the inventory or any good sale items. Dr ended up buying the piece my daughter really wanted and she is very happy with the purchase. read more

My wife and I went to Hom to look for a new sofa. We where escorted to the top floor and the salesman watched us shop from about 25-30 feet away the entire time we were there. After not finding anything close to our needs, we said, "Thank you." As we attempted to leave the salesman quickly closed the distance and scolded us for not asking questions and lectured about furniture buying basics. Over our 21 years of sofa buying, this was the most hostile furniture store we've ever experienced. The store was busy and no other customers had the same level of monitoring (they all were allowed to browse freely). We had been shopping all morning, and it was a jarring contrast to all of the other stores. We appeared to be the only people of color in the store--I'm not sure that was a factor. read more

My husband and I, having just been treated poorly at Crate & Barrel, stopped by Hom in search of a buffet. Jacob F greeted us warmly as soon as we entered the store. He was very helpful, and conducted a brief needs analysis with us. He then escorted us through the store, tape measure in hand. We selected a few pieces, but were concerned that our chargers would not fit. So, Jacob ran upstairs to grab a charger from a dining room table set, and confirmed that our things would fit perfectly inside. Before we purchased, we decided we had better go home to ensure that the piece we chose would fit the space. It did. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a hand-written thank you for visiting card from Jacob a few days later. We purchased the buffet, and it looks beautiful! We so thoroughly enjoyed working with Jacob and Hom, that a month later we returned and purchased another piece of furniture for our living room. The quality of the furniture (delivered a little over a week ago) appears very good. Delivery and customer contact was bad, though. During the purchase process, I told the salesperson (Sara Cayer) that I could accept delivery on Thursday except for a one-hour block for a medical appointment. Even though Sara said they would call, the delivery personnel did not call the night before to discuss the "window" for delivery. In the morning, sure enough, I found out they scheduled the delivery to be inclusive of the one-hour block in the day that I would not be able to be home. I scrambled and got a friend to come over and fill that time. The delivery occurred earlier so I was here but if the delivery window had been correctly stated, my friend would not have had to come over at all. The next day I opened the rugs that were delivered and one was the wrong rug. I contacted them right away and was scheduled to have the correct rug delivered, and the incorrect one picked up, nearly a week later. I told them they should come and get the wrong rug now, as I have cats and won't be held liable for any potential damage. The salesperson emailed back and said "we will not be able to take it back if it is soiled or damaged." Well...not my problem. I responded: "I will not be held liable due to the mistaken delivery and the delay in pickup. If it is a concern, you may drive up today to pick up the rug yourself or have someone else do it. The longer the delay, the more likely it is that an accident could occur." (I used to lease and sell furniture. It is not uncommon for a salesperson to drop off or pick up items.) I never received any type of response to that email. On the day the correct rug was delivered, I was told an early afternoon window. I got a call over two hours in advance of that window that they would be dropping off the rug "in a few minutes." What's up with that scheduling department? Again, the quality appears good so far but their customer service...not so good. If you have the option to use another retailer, I'd say stay away from Hom Furniture. read more
