James Jones's did my inspection 3 year ago on my first home that was built in 1955. While he did discover some issues which were communicated, there have been MANY more issues discovered over the last few years that should have been flagged/reported. He did the inspection IMO too quickly (his young son was with him) and while sharing his findings kicked a hole in the paneling of my garage to indicate that they shouldn't have paneled it and evidence of mice. I found this very unprofessional to damage a home during an inspection. I would not recommend or use this firm again. read more

I knew it was going to be a thorough inspection when I pulled up early and the ladder was already in place outside and we walked inside and a 2nd ladder was in place. Our inspector was prompt, uniformed & courteous. He did a complete home inspection, as promised. However, we felt there were some areas that he didn't inform us about, or at least, didn't comment on. Overall, he was thorough and DID provide us a very complete list. We just wished he was a little more communicative. Good company, though. read more

I will first like to say there are Pros and Cons to working with this company. Pros: On time. Very detailed report. Easy booking. Quick response time. User friendly website. The inspector answered questions when asked. Provided suggestions for upgrades or need to things for new home buyers. Cons: The inspector was very dismissive, immature, and rude towards the end of the inspection. He was also rude to the flooring guy we had come to the house during the inspection. The inspector made inappropriate comments. Did not honor the free termite inspection by booking online. Never responded to emails once the inspection was done. Poor in person customer service. There were a number of other things that were said that were unprofessional. I am big on customer service and this company needs to work on that. UPDATE: A few days after the inspection I received a phone call from the owner about our service. He provided me with the termite inspection and promised to correct any mishaps that may have happened during our inspection. read more

I found this company through a google search and read all the reviews and stalked the website for the business credentials to ensure I was making the best decision when selecting them as my home inspectors. Building my house was thee biggest thing I have ever done in my life and I wanted it to be as close to perfect as it could get. I'm beyond pleased I chose them. James was phenomenal and I truly appreciated his expertise, patience, industry knowledge and thoroughness.Purchasing a new construction home the timelines/deadlines can be veryyyyy unpredictable; not only did he allow me to reschedule my pre-drywall inspection once or twice but 3 times due to the home not being done with certain phases. His turn around time on providing a detailed report was speedy which in turn allowed my Construction Manager adequate time to remedy the findings before proceeding to the next phase. Once again for the final inspection timeline it was scheduled but of course changed, so I had to reschedule twice and he was able to work around my schedule. This final inspection he found a major issue and based on his report I got the issue properly fixed and 30 year warranty to back it up. I enjoyed the professionalism he displayed both times but also his ability to explain construction jargon to me, so that I understand what is going on. Note: I wrote this review back in July 2016 but never get a chance to post it, sorry James. ----------------------------------------------- We hired James from Home inspections LLC to inspect our future home (Update 7/1/2021: it is our home now.) We were desperate when I searched Google and found out about Home inspections LLC, it was a late Saturday afternoon around 4 PM after we canceled our inspection appointment with another inspector. (I'll explain that whole story after the separation line). While most inspection companies close the office on Saturday evening, I was surprised Home inspections LLC open until 7 PM that afternoon. We read so many praising reviews everywhere about James and his company Home inspections LLC (Yelp, Google+, Facebook, HomeAdvisor, Angie's List), we thought to give the company a call. James picked up the phone after two rings, and everything was set up right over the phone call. James sounds very professional, he wanted us to be there with him for the inspection, or he would set up another day with us so one of us will show up and inspect the house with him. I was impressed, that is exactly what I was looking for. James was very polite and professional, and anybody who knows my husband, he usually never use words like "awesome" to describe someone, but that's how much he felt after he walked every step of the way with James during the inspection, and my husband said he learned so much about our home, and what to look for if something goes wrong. ---------------------------------------------------------- So here's the side story. Before we used Home inspections LLC to do a truly professional job on our future home, we were about to get our home inspected by a clown, it was a close call. I was asking our realtor if she knows some good house inspectors, she said we could use her husband, and she's not joking! (I find it morally wrong when she even suggests that!) However she still sends my husband 3 inspectors on her list, and before I could warn him "don't call the first guy on the list" (her husband), my husband already left a message. Her husband is the classic example of someone truly unprofessional: 1. He told my husband he prefers his client not to show up during the inspection because he needs to concentrate on his job! But he wouldn't mind meeting up afterward to go over the report and charge a little overtime! This is unbelievable! 2. He's only available that Saturday evening between 5-7 pm, not hours earlier or any other days in the week, which we felt he's being sleazy! We felt very uncomfortable to let him to do the inspection, so we cancel the appointment at the very last minute (around 4 PM), and of course the clown was super upset! He said he's going to charge us for the gas money! It's so pathetic but we agreed! So this is why we decided to change our house inspector at the very last minute! This was the best decision I could have possibly made. Not only are they reasonably priced but they have outstanding service! My inspector was Brandon Miller and he did an impeccable job. You can tell he has done this a while and was very knowledgeable. My realtor and I tagged along for the inspection. Brandon was pointing out very important details to us. Not only was he able to explain exactly what was wrong but he was also able to educate me on how to go about fixing it. He sent me a very detailed report that had everything I needed to know about the property. He also sent me helpful educational videos on the issues. We hired James last May to inspect the home we bought. He did a fantastic job and was very thorough. He brought several tools to inspect our house from top to bottom. He uncovered a few problems with our home, which in turn, allowed us to request seller remedies on. If we had not been made aware of them we would have been stuck paying the bill for those repairs. During the inspection he took his time and also spent time answering my numerous questions. He also explained things in detail. The gentleman (not the owner of the company) who did our Home Inspection did a thorough job. Thank you. However, with all the stresses of buying a house you never expect the head of an inspection company to call and yell at you on the phone acting totally unprofessional over something very minor that could have been communicated better on his behalf. I purchased a radon test along with my home inspection. Dates/deadlines were shoved at us quickly and because they did not do the radon test at the same time of the inspection (to which I had no clue when the radon test would be completed). My realtor advised me to ask if I could cancel/or reschedule the radon test since we decided this would be done in the future but we would try to hold off for now since it would miss the deadline. I had full intentions of rescheduling if they allowed because we were pleased with the inspection. For a couple of weeks I had called 3 times total to find out where the radon test was at because the first person told me they would look to see where the radon test was and if we could cancel before it would be placed. Nobody called me back, and nobody called back again like they said after the 2nd call. The 3rd time I called, I dialed the main 800 number as I had before, and the lady told me someone would call me back shortly. This is when the head of the company called me and brought personal matters into my face as if the personal matters were my fault and yelled at me accusing me of calling his cell phone which was untrue, I called the main office and NOT his cell phone he called me on. He said, "and people like you are taking away my money." (I already paid, he had my money!) He let me know not so nicely that I can not cancel the radon test after purchasing it, and how he sent me an email after purchasing stating this, how his website has changed so many times and that he put this on his website so people know they can't cancel. This was not true whatsoever, I never did get that email he was talking about, nor did I see it on the website either. He could have kindly told me no, that I could not cancel after purchasing and leave it at that and not throw in all the personal matters. He could have even had his secretary let me know the info if he was having personal matters rather than calling me himself. After letting him know I would tell my realtor who recommended me to them what he did to me, he said some more choice words that were not appropriate for a business owner. Did I mention he called me back not once but two more times after ending the first conversation? The last time he called me, I let him know that everything was done and to stop harassing me and to never call me again. He could have left it with the first call kindly stating I could not cancel the radon test and then everything would have been fine from there. I am an understanding rational person, but this was not needed and not professional by any means. I will definitely not recommend this company. This was the worse and most stressful part out of buying our house! Everyone else we dealt with were all very helpful in the whole process. He was Very unprofessional with huge disrespect to the customer who was waiting on a response for a few weeks. Nobody deserves the phone call he made to me, I can only hope that he will rethink making calls like that to customers in the future. read more

After reading reviews of previous home inspection customers of James, I decided to hire him to inspect a new construction condo I am purchasing. Pricing was lower than area competitors and scheduling was made easy through their website. Little did I know however that was just the beginning of the positive experience I have had with Home Inspections LLC. As usual, the timeline for new construction did not stay on schedule and James accommodated my every request to reschedule on multiple occasions and sent me new confirmation emails each time! It is nice when a company is so understanding and flexible to meet the needs of it's customers. On the day of my appointment James arrived early and promptly called me at my scheduled appointment time to begin the inspection. He has a very friendly demeanor and is clearly very knowledgeable about his field. While walking through the home James was very thorough. He took numerous pictures throughout the inspection and especially of the living room floor that needed to be repaired by the builder to include in his report. He pointed out the major things that still needed to be completed as well as pointed out cosmetic imperfections that I wouldn't have even noticed without his expert eye for the builder to fix. I wouldn't even consider buying another home in the Columbus area without having James come to inspect it first. You absolutely will not regret hiring him to perform your inspection and he truly is a pleasure to work with! read more
