Baked goods are tasty, but expensive. When I had cakes made for a party, I was told I could choose balloons or flowers - that was it. Nothing else. They cakes were attractive and tasted good, but even grocery store bakeries offer a broader selection. The balloon "smash" cakes were really cute, and the children enjoyed them. They close early on Saturday and are closed on Sunday. That makes getting cakes for Monday difficult, or you are getting day-old cakes. That's a bit of a hassle if you have an event scheduled for Monday. I was very disappointed when they tricked a customer into staying longer to wait for the birthday cake she ordered. They made it seem as though they had to finish it, but it was ready to go. The real reason they asked her stay was so an attorney could serve her with divorce papers. I wouldn't even give them one star, but I had to do at least that to leave this review. I attended a lovely wedding on Saturday that went off with a hitch except for the wedding cake: it arrived 4 hours late, ruining the reception. They took the cake to the wrong church, and instead of bringing it to the right church, the lady went back to the bakery and decorated another cake, stating that she'd drop our late cake off when she dropped the other cake off. Besides the fact that this is ignorant behavior, the betrothed couple were the last ones who deserve a reception with no cake. Most of the guest had to leave before it arrived. My friend paid for her cake on time; it should have been delivered on time. Are they under new management? I had recommended this bakery to my niece for her gender reveal cake. Guess what? When her husband cut the cake and they held up the slice: yellow cake. Thank God they already knew they were having a boy. Home Bake forgot the blue dye, but then they iced a yellow cake... for a gender reveal. Do they have a renegade baker too? My friend has tried to call them to take about the four hour delay on her wedding cake, and they dodge her call. Oh, wait, she did get one answer and the lady laughed. They sold me a sour carrot cake the Friday before the Fourth of July, then refused to give me a refund, instead offering me a $5.00 off coupon for a future purchase. I told them to keep it. They accused me of leaving the cake outside in the heat so it would sour. I live two blocks away from the bakery, and went straight home after I bought the cake. If you're thinking of buying a cake from here, DON'T. They have shitty management, and shitty cake. read more

I attended the same wedding as Tara F. and Jennifer S. Our experience with this bakery falls under the heading of, "You can't make this stuff up!" The entire reception was overshadowed by this egregious lapse on the part of this bakery. Hours late, too late for the reception, no heads-up, no apology, no follow-up! The bride was so crushed over this experience that friends actually went to a grocery store to buy a birthday cake as a stand-in. Yes, that's how bad it was! The only rationale I can surmise is that the owners have no respect for their customers and are doing a kamikaze nose-dive right into bankruptcy! never use this bakery under any circumstance!!!!!!!!! I ordered and paid for my daughter's wedding cakes months in advance. I double checked the status of the order on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 for her wedding which was Saturday, October 10th, 2015. We ordered a wedding cake, 4 additional 8x8 two layer cakes, cupcakes, brownie bites, and sugar cookies. everything was to arrive by 3pm the wedding started at 5:30. All the cakes and above stated treats, arrived between 6:30p and 6:50pm. The wedding ceremony was over, and we did everything we could to stall, but to no avail. the guests were eating when the two delivery people arrived excusing themselves through our guest to place the cakes. I was totally embarrassed and missed family photos with my daughter trying to handle this disaster. upon talking to the owner of home bake on Wednesday 10-14-15 regarding this matter, I was pretty much called a liar and the response I received was " well did you get your photos with the bride and groom cutting the cake or not?" seriously? that is the response I got from the owner who was as rude and nonchalant about the entire incident, I was told by the owner that his deliver personnel stated there wasn't any problem with the delivery and that is what he was going by. I spent 8 months meticulously planning my wedding to a wonderful man. Everything was beautiful, until I showed up to the reception and there was NO CAKE. I'd been told that morning that the cake was running a little late, but the baker assured me that it would be set up "before you even walk down the aisle." I walked down the aisle at 2:00. The cake FINALLY arrived at 4:00, after many guests had already left this church reception. It's worth mentioning that when the cake was finally brought in, there was not one attempt to apologize to anyone about the delay. I began attempting to call and speak with an owner/manager on Monday. It would appear that owners/managers are rarely there, because it's now Wednesday, and I've received no call back. Oh, but the girl who answered the phone today was kind enough to LAUGH when I gave my name and say, "Oh, yeah, I heard about you from this weekend." I'm appalled that this establishment not only offers no remorse for ruining my wedding reception, but actually finds it amusing. After leaving this review, and a few others, I intend to turn this entire matter over to the courts and enjoy marriage far more than I was able to enjoy my reception, thanks to the incompetence and lack of professionalism from this "bakery." read more

November 1, 2014 I was afforded the wonderful opportunity to pick up my sister's baby shower cake for her first baby! Upon entering the store I was greeted and given the cake that I ordered that was picked from a design that they had in a book at the shop. When I looked at the cake, which is a baby shower cake, it had skeleton faces on the cake. The skeleton faces were not clearly visible on the picture displayed in the book from the shop. I quickly told the employees that the cake should not have skeletons on it and that I would like to have it corrected. I immediately called my sister who the cake was for and she came to the shop. They told us that it was the decorators fault and that it was nothing they could do about it. I was also told that because they were about to close it was too late to have it fixed. They said that all they could do was scratch off the skeleton faces then pay an additional design fee. During this time employees were snickering, rolling eyes and making unnecessary comments, which I found to be no less helpful in the situation. A particular employee, Jasmine, laughed the most all while my pregnant sister was crying about her "skeleton" baby shower cake. I found this situation to be uncalled for and the cake should have been fixed. We also asked about the sign behind the register which states that if the customer is unhappy with the cake that it can be fixed before the cake leaves the shop and free of charge. When we asked for the manager's number we were carelessly told to call back Tuesday. The employees there today were very rude, unprofessional, and all in a rush to leave.
