Highly recommend making a reservation! Our reservation was at 9pm on a Saturday night and the entire restaurant was PACKED! I was really surprised that even at that hour the whole restaurant was busy. The interior was stunning!! I loved the lighting fixtures and drappy curtains. I would say that I didn't like that they dimmed the lights sooo low that I could barely see my food or my friend across the table. There's mood lighting and then there's "I can't see lighting" and it was definitely the latter, which I didn't care for. The food was absolutely amazing!!!! 10 out of 10, the staff was also incredible! Can't wait to come back for more! My favorite was the Pork & Chive Shumai (dumplings with caviar) it was my first time trying caviar and I loved it. I didn't like the seafood dumplings as much as I expected. They were really good. Cantonese cuisine is well-executed at this restaurant. My husband and I ordered the curry chicken baos, tofu skin cold noodles, and Generals Tso chicken. The curry chicken baos were my husband's favorite. They were soft and bouncy baos filled with a spiced curry. I enjoyed the bouncy cold noodles as a palate cleanser between my favorite dish, General Tso's chicken. It was a delicate batter with juicy, flavorful dark meat chicken. I also ordered a pot of jasmine tea, which elevated the overall dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful with lots of natural light. Though I do think service could use some help. Our server was not very attentive. Wow, I was so surprised after trying Brewery Bhavana when we first moved here. When you arrive parking can be difficult in this area as the restaurant backs up to Moore Square. I'd recommend parking a few blocks away and walking if you are unable to find parking nearby. Walking into the restaurant you'll be transported to a modern brewery, bookstore, and flower shop. It feels chic, Belgian inspired, and upscale. To start I ordered a Vase IPA which was excellent. I then switched to cocktails and ordered the Black Sesame Old Fashioned (bourbon, black sesame, black walnut bitters), the Dionysus (pinot noir, raspberry lemon shrub, chambord, amaretto, lemon, rhubarb bitters), and an aviation (hendricks, luxardo, creme de violette, lemon). By far the Black Sesame Old Fashioned was my favorite and what a nice touch with cracker on top of the dish. For food we ordered the Gai Lan (Stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic and oyster sauce), the Peking Duck (Whole, barbecued, free-range duck served with steamed bao buns, cucumber, scallions, and hoisin-honey sauce), Sweet Soy Chicken (Scallions, bell peppers, and caramelized in our ginger soy sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Lo Mein Noodles (Stir-fried noodles with julienned shiitake mushrooms, choy sum greens, soy sauce, and shrimp), seafood dumplings (Lobster, shrimp, and scallop dumplings served in garlic and black mushroom sauce with fried Youtiao doughnuts), Chicken Curry Bao (Steamed buns filled with spicy yellow chicken and vegetable curry), the Beef with Longhorn Peopers (Sautéed beef, ginger, and longhorn peppers with Shaoxing wine sauce. Served with jasmine rice), the Xiao Long Bao (Steamed crab and ground pork soup dumplings), Nasi Goreng Crab Fried Rice (Traditional Indonesian Chinese fried rice with blue crab meat, Nam Pla fish sauce, house made Nasi Goreng sauce, served in an egg crêpe), and the General Tso's Chicken (Crunchy, sweet, and tangy, Bhavana's General Tso comes with your choice of chicken or tofu tossed in our house-made General sauce and topped with sesame seeds. Served with jasmine rice). By far our favorite food items were the seafood dumplings (excellent flavor, Chinese donuts were so good, along with the flavor from the broth), and the shrimp lo mein noodles (cooked perfectly and the sauce was perfectly distributed). I love the concept Brewery Bhavana! They have a wide variety menu options with dim sum, main courses, unique cocktails, and house beers. It typically gets pretty full on the weekends, but we were able to walk right in on a weekday and sit at the bar for dinner. The interior is sleek and modern, with a beautiful large marble bar. Wow! This was one of the best meals I've ever had! My husband dined here several years ago, and every time Raleigh comes up in conversation, he hyped this local gem up to me and said it was a must-visit whenever we had the chance. Well, I finally got to try Brewery Bhavana and it was indeed incredible. Definitely worth the hype. We met my coworker and her partner here for dinner, and I was grateful we had a reservation because this spot was poppin' on a Monday night! The dining room is huge, but the decor breaks things up a bit and makes your meal feel intimate. Everything is shareable, so I highly recommend visiting with fellow foodies who want to try a little bit of everything. Honestly the entire menu sounded amazing, and it was hard to choose! Thankfully our servers provided some excellent recommendations. The Pork Bao was probably my favorite bite of the night, and may very well have been the best Bao I've ever had. The Lap Cheung Fried Rice was also delicious, and I'm usually not a fried rice person! Also worth mentioning is the Lo Mein, which we ordered with chicken. We didn't stay for dessert, but all of their sweet offerings sounded incredible as well. I did try one of the beers they brew on-site, the Sow. This restaurant pleasantly surprised me. I'm honestly not a huge Chinese food person, and when picking restaurants, it's usually not something I naturally gravitate toward. I was actually a little nervous going in because certain Chinese dishes tend to upset my stomach, so I tried to avoid some of the heavier noodle and chicken dishes that normally do that to me. Honestly, I think that was the best decision because I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and felt completely fine afterwards. I started with the crab rangoons, which were perfectly creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside -- absolutely delicious. Then I tried the pork-filled bao buns, which was my first time ever having them, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed them too. Everyone else at our table seemed to really enjoy their food as well. I genuinely didn't hear a single complaint. We also ordered some drinks that were delicious, and both our server and the rest of the staff were absolutely fantastic and very welcoming throughout the night. The atmosphere and vibes inside are honestly one of the coolest parts of the experience. It somehow feels like a mix between a brewery, a florist, a bookstore, and a Chinese restaurant all at once. Highly recommend! First of all make a reservation ahead of time! They occasionally have spots at the bar but reservations go quick and they are very busy. I stopped in just a they were opening on a Friday and thank goodness I showed up when I did, this place gets packed quick and you should book a reservation to be on the safe side. I was most excited about the duck egg rolls but ended up being my least favorite not because they were slightly on the dry side. Flavor was good, and the hoisin honey sauce really helped! The seafood dumplings were second best, stuffed full. The soup based was amazing and it also came with some bread for dipping in the leftover sauce. The pork and chive shumai were my favorite! A little bit bigger than bit sized but worth the mouth full! Absolutely would recommend. I'll 100% be back for more food. The bar side looked to be more casual, the dinning room was full of high tea attire so I did feel a little under dressed, thought it would be slightly more casual. Brewery Bhavana was a very cool spot - food, drinks, and beer, but you can also buy books and flowers! They have dim sum that can easily be made vegetarian friendly, which is usually so hard to find. We got the Edamame Ginger Dumplings, Sichuan Cucumber Salad, General Tso's Tofu, and Eggplant Pagoda (with added tofu). They also served some delicious chili oil with it. Everything was tasty. My favorite was the Eggplant Pagoda and I was glad our waitress had recommended adding tofu to it to make it more of an entree! It did not disappoint and we can completely see why the place was as busy as it was. The entire aesthetic of the place was so high end yet very comfortable. We didn't have a reservation, but as we enjoyed our meal it started to fill up fast even though there is plenty of seating, so make a reservation. The restaurant is expansive with plenty of seating and it has a bar. We didn't try any of their brewed items, but plan to when we return. I loved that the restaurant had books and bookshelves. Been wanting to visit this place for a long time given its sterling reputation, and it was everything I was hoping it would be. Everything we had was delicious, service was impeccable, the look of the restaurant is big and inviting, and it just had that buzz about it while you're there that the best restaurants do. I was fortunate and found street parking, but I could see that being challenging for others in such a popular area (and only getting more so). Since we got there early we were seated right away, but reservations would definitely be recommended for dinner or large groups. Everything on the menu sounded wonderful, so we decided to do a few things family style. We started off with the seafood dumplings and sichuan cucumber salad, and for mains we got the longhorn pepper beef and also an order of chicken lo mein... because noods. The dumplings had a wonderful texture, slightly doughy, superb mouth feel. The contents were an absolute flavor rush once you bit down especially for a seafood lover. I could have consumed order after order of these. The cucumber salad was a nice vinegary, little spicy, flavor change up to these hearty pockets. The beef was rich, tender, and flavorful and made you want to sop up all the sauce with the provided rice. The peppers gave a little spicy and a textural element that was welcome. Parking is sparse so you may have to walk a block or two if you don't Uber. The drinks were really good. The service was ok, it was a busy night not sure if that had anything to do with it. It was m first time here. The dumplings were good. The seafood was my favorite. The broth on them was amazing and the dumplings they give you to dip in the broth are fried crispy and warm and just add a great finishing touch. The crab Rangoon was just ok. The Ginger Salad is a shareable size if it's just 2 of you and you are eating other things. Ask for extra dressing. They don't put enough. Now the not so good. We never send food back but this crab fried rice definitely had to go back. It was so fishy I think the waitress said that they use fish sauce and shrimp paste and something else fishy, but it also had a like scorched taste to it like it had been burnt in the pan but we ordered two orders. I ordered some and my sister also ordered the order and I'm not sure if they cooked it together, but they both tasted the same so we sent both orders back. They did take them off the bill and we just ordered more dumplings. Give them a try and let me know what you think. They have two locations. Reservations are highly recommended, especially if you're planning to visit on the weekend. There's also a lot of street parking in proximity. We ordered the crab fried rice, the seafood dumplings, and shrimp lo mein. The crab fried rice we sadly were not fans of. It wasn't really giving any crab flavor. However, everything else was perfection. Hands down, my favorite dish was the seafood dumplings. The perfect flavor and perfect pairing of Chinese doughnuts. If you can swing it, this is probably the most empty you will ever find this place. For our dim sum, we got Sizchuan cucumber salad - my faves - crab wontons, and seafood dumplings. This was the first time I have have the seafood dumplings and WOW - they are out of this world. Not only are the dumplings good, the sauce they are in is equally delicious. Our server brought us these long sticks of fried bread to dip into the sauce, and I will genuinely never stop thinking about how good that was. I made the reservation online for a birthday of four for 7:00pm. Me and the birthday girl arrived at 6:45, unbeknownst to her that other people were joining us. When we walked in I informed the waitress I had a reservation and gave my name. She states for four, I said no and gave a shhh with my finger and she must've didn't understand. She then proceeded to ask my name again and I gave it to her with a please be quiet look. That went over her head too because she repeated a reservation for four, by this time the birthday girl heard her and looked surprised. I tell the hostess, yea it was a surprise but she knows now. She just laughs. We were promptly seated, the place is beautiful but it was very hot inside. We started off duck rolls, ginger salad, chicken dumplings, seafood dumplings and crab Rangoon. We really enjoyed the chicken and seafood dumplings, we probably could've shared the ginger salad it was enough for two. We then ordered the crab fried rice, and neither of my friends enjoyed it. It had a burnt smell and taste to it. The waitress was kind enough to take it back and stated that the fish sauce may have been the culprit of the smell. The environment of this restaurant is so inviting - it feels intimate as multiple tables share the food amongst the table and the books and flowers just ground you. Brewery Bhavana has absolutely gorgeous interior and some of the best moody lighting for an intimate meal which I enjoyed with my very best friend on my last night visiting Raleigh! Parking is pretty much street parking only so be sure to factor that time into your reservation! Once inside, we were seated almost immediately and introduced to our server for the night. Although service was amazing and ambiance was there, I didn't have the very best dining experience for a couple of reasons: 1. A few things I tried ordering were sold out but it happened multiple times across cocktails and food that I would put the order in, server says great and leaves, then comes back to tell me they don't have it. This happened with 2 cocktails my friend tried ordering (one due to not having the syrup and the other for not having the garnish) and two of the apps I wanted to try (cabbage rolls and one more I can't recall). It's a bit frustrating when the kitchen or bar hasn't informed the server of what's 86'd to avoid that, but after 4 separate occasions of thinking we are getting something than finding out we aren't, it felt like I was taking a chance and settling for anything else. 2. A couple items were very room temp which was basically cold. The weather dropped to a freezing point that night which the restaurant cannot control so I believe it was cooler inside and that just caused the food to cool down very quickly once on the table. Now to the review of what we did get to try: Drinks: * Flame Blossom 8/10: very light in flavor, lends to more of a spritz vibe which was tasty & refreshing * Smoke & Nectar 10/10: loved this cocktail! Such a nice sweetness without tasting like syrup or pure fruit Food: * Lo Mein 10/10: my favorite bite of the night! Noodles had a great chew and this dish came out hot temp wise * Green Beans 10/10: very tasty & crispy! Love that char flavor you can taste * Chicken Dumplings 5/10: dough was a bit thick for me! Wish their dumpling sauce had more black vinegar or acidity to help with the dryness * Chicken Curry Bao 8/10: a punch of curry flavor that I wasn't expecting! Airy Bao bun! Wish it was hotter when we got it but they warmed up nicely the next day! * Crab Rangoon 10/10: so crispy & delicious! We went for Peking duck on Christmas Eve as a family. Few things to note- not the best place for kids, the larger dishes are fairly small, and make a reservation to get in. The crab rangoons were made with real crab and super flavorful. Easily the best I've ever had. The salad was delicious, fresh and decent sized. Bao buns are amazing, only four per dish, Peking duck was not what I expected. I have been to places where a family could share it and it's more made for one person. It was delicious though. Location: Located in downtown Raleigh near the bus station, the Brewery Bhavana provides something for everyone. From beer, a bookstore, floral arrangements, and food. Small but busting with something for anyone to enjoy. Parking: There is no parking specific to the location, it's all based on public parking via the deck or parallel parking. This was a drawback for us, as you had to first figure out what was the location to park and then walk over - if you want to wear heels, make sure they are comfortable. Service: The staff was extremely helpful from the moment we walked in. We had a reservation, as soon as all of us were there - we were seated promptly. The server came over almost immediately to greet us and go over their menu. I really appreciated the way they labeled their food - specifically for those with diet restrictions. On top of asking you before ordering if there were any restrictions to allow them to guide you on what you can order to meet your needs. Ambiance: The location is small, but still comfortable. There is a lot of different types of seating - bar top, regular, etc. So, you don't feel like you are sitting on top of each other within the small space. Everything was nicely lit and clean. The only con was when we were seated, our specific area wasn't very well lit. Food: The food was absolutely amazing! We thought the amount of food and the quality of it matched the menu price. Now, one con the water - its tap and taste GROSS. I didn't see where bottle was offered. Might want to get a filter for the water for a better experience. As one will also think, this is the same water used for the tea and coffee? No thank you. The steak was tender with a little spice. The rice was soft. After enjoying their beers from the grocery store, it was time to go directly to the source. The space is cute and serves as bar, restaurant, and bookshop. There are many beers to choose from, and while they don't serve flights, they'll let you sample as many as you'd like before ordering a 10oz or 16oz. I enjoy lighter beers, and Petal and Sprout were close favorites for me. The Dig stout was also richly flavorful. We ordered the small dim sum dishes, and everything was delicious! 5 dishes provided good portions for 2 adults and a child. The surprise hit was the bamboo shoot salad with tofu skin- maybe not super appealing from the description but flavored with an unexpected mix of chili oil and cumin that played well together. read more

Let's start with the food. It is top notch dim sum and would definitely recommend if you are a fan. We had two types of bao buns as well as some moon cake and some fried rice. All were outstanding and being from Hawaii and having had quality dim sum I was impressed The service was also great. Our server Jib was super friendly and attentive and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. The ambiance also was a very cool vibe with the books and beer wall and drapery throughout. Seems like a place for any type of occasion. The only reason this is 4 stars and not 5 would be for value of cost. Obviously this is downtown and the food was very good but the value for price seemed to have some disparity just based on portion sizes. The dim sum is close to $4 - $5 per piece and though good did make us question a bit based on size. For a date night though or something new to try would still highly recommend as the food was delicious. read more

I've been here a few times. The aesthetic is unmatched! Cozy, intimate, and elevated. The bookstore is very curated and displayed well for a more strolling-type of shopping. Flowers were a bit expensive, but added to the ambiance. The bar was exquisite and great for a stop-in drink. We really came for a dinner this time around. I ordered the matcha San drink. BEST MATCHA MARTINI IVE EVER HAD! Would order again if I can. As for the rest of the dim sum orders--I was super disappointed. My family is native to Hong Kong, so I may be biased but the flavors were totally off and did not taste fresh. I'd say all the dishes we ordered were not authentically made, however presented in a traditional way, which is nice to see especially for a non-Asian area! The service was great. read more

Great service, beautiful ambiance. Cute bar. Friendly workers. Food is absurdly priced. We used to eat real traditional dim sum in Westminster CA for half the price. Luckily it was a beautiful night but I think the price hike is because of Fenton Cary. I do not think this place deserves a Michelin star. For looks, maybe. This place could cut the price of everything on their menu by 50% and it would STILL be a bit higher than the quality. Caviar on Shumai? For real? Why? Made it super salty for no reason. The soup dumpling broth was salty and the meat filling lacked flavor. (Look up Chubby Dumpling Anaheim they have a Michelin star and it was our local spot) The tea was 10$ hahaha and it was just white tea. Every dish is 17$ at least for like 4-6 bites of food. Traditional dim sum is typically served 10am-3pm and is like 3-6$ per dish.. Tyler is so nice, our waiter gave us green beans on the house (even the waitstaff knew when I ordered that it would not be enough) he got a nice tip though. At first we were like oh hey how nice, then realized when the bill came that he was trying to make our experience more worth it. I would say this is probably 3.5/4 stars in Cary, NC. But coming from Southern California, I wouldn't come back. They need to price cut out the door for what you see, we paid 100$ with tip. Tough to come back. Their duck eggrolls were very good I'll give them that. But it's 2negg rolls for 18$ .... Maybe use less duck and fill more with rice/noodle and veg and charge half the price? My absolute favorite restaurant in the triangle. The beers are interesting and so good. The food is INSANE. It's definitely pricey but the quality and taste cannot be beat. Their lo mein noodles and *all* of the dumplings are perfection every single time. Service is great too. The vibe is nice and relaxed, I love sitting at the bar. Great for a nice dinner or for a night of beers. read more

I went yesterday for dinner and this time I was able to make a reservation. Our waiter was so nice! He took his time giving different recommendations on the menu, he checked in on us and didn't make us feel rushed, and he even offered bag hooks to my friend and I! My friend ordered the general tso which she liked and I got the beef with longhorn peppers based on our waiter's recommendation and it was so good! My friend and I both commented how nice the place is inside and that we would return in the future since it was such a pleasant time. read more
