Absolutely the best we drive from Racine WI. twice a year. Great food, service and atmosphere.

I was impressed with the burger menu itself - everything from simple, traditional burgers to some more adventurous topped burgers. My wife and I both had the Backyard Burger, some Wisco cheese curds and some fried pickle chips. The burgers were well put together with fresh ingredients and the 1/3 lb burger itself was done well but lacking in a bit of flavor and there was a bit to much bun for the size of the patty. The cheese curds were very tasty as were the pickle chips. Overall, it was a good experience and we will be back for more. read more

Pleasantly surprised with the burgers at this little downtown Bar. The crab Rangoon burger was tastier than expected, considering it's kind of an unusual combo. The angry badger burger was really tasty as well, can't go wrong with curds and jalapeños with a pretzel bun. read more

I really enjoyed the sandwich that I ordered. I had a chicken breast instead of a regular burger and it was perfect. I also had fried cheese curds instead of French fries which were amazing. My husband had the hangover burger which he loved. My teenage son loved the plain cheeseburger he ordered. We will definitely be going back. read more

My husband and I went there for dinner and a drink this past Friday and it was honestly one of the best burgers we have had in a long time. I had the Mac Burger and my husband (who LOVES spicy food) had the Inferno Burger and that is super spicy but he said it was delicious. The bartenders were really nice as well. I had a burger with fried cheese curds, spiral ham, and a dijon mustard sauce. One of the best burgers I have ever had.

Service was seriously BAD! We were there for an early lunch on Saturday when there weren't too many people there. We ordered 2 burgers and an order of onion rings. It took 20 minutes or more. We had trouble getting the waitresses attention since we weren't sitting at the bar even though they knew we were in a hurry-the bar customers seemed to be the only people they were interested in servicing. The onion rings were good and crunchy (the only reason for the 2 stars) but by the time they got to us they were barely warm. The burgers were well done (the only way they serve them) so they were quite dry. They charged $0.50 for 2 slices of pickle to go on my burger and $0.50 for a side of mayo which I think is pretty excessive. We definitely will NOT be returning! read more

I'm not going to talk about the burgers, because I didn't order one, although the burger options looked very intriguing. I came for the fun and ambiance of the Tuesday night trivia contest. It was a lot of fun, and the bar was pretty well packed for the event. I enjoyed some onion rings with some pretty spicy sauce, and was able to go out and do something a little different for a change. The staff was fast and friendly, the food I saw coming out of the kitchen looked and smelled appealing. I will be coming back some night to try one of the burgers as well. read more

Stopped for a quick lunch and wow. What a burger! I had the Hangover, definitely the best burger I've been able to find in a while. The thick cut bacon was a nice touch. The fries were nothing special, but seasoned well. Speed was good as the place was pretty slow at the time. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was the service. The bartender was very attentive but could have been friendlier. Nothing major, and wouldn't prevent me from returning. read more

This is my favorite burger spot in Appleton. There are some crazy options on the menu that you can get all the time (like a burger that's bun is a glazed donut cut in half) and obviously the usual like a bacon burger but then EVERY month they come up with a new creation. My girlfriend and I just finished one of the nicest meals we have ever had in Appleton. A couple of juicy burgers with some scrumptious locally brewed craft beer. Only we had a slight hiccup. My girlfriend ordered a burger called a Wisco inferno. According to the menu it had jalpeños, pepperjack cheese and reaper ranch. After one bite she almost died and asked for a replacement bacon cheese burger. She took one bite and started crying and sweating. I was surprised because she grew up in Tunisia and she eats the spiciest stuff in the world for breakfast and smiles about it. I am usually the one crying when I eat her food. So needless to say I have never seen her react in such a way to any American food, so I took a bite and it was deadly. It was definitely spicier than any food is supposed to be. When I asked the waitress to take it off the bill she rolled her eyes and said, "well you ordered it... so I can't really do that." I tried to level with her and tell her that It shouldn't be this spicy without at least some kind of warning. I mean my mouth went cold and numb for minutes after one bite. And she finally reluctantly gave us half off the deadly burger. She said it is made with chili oil from a reaper chili. She also said two other people had ordered it and just finished their burgers happily. But I don't think those people had the same burger. After taking a bite and almost dying i opened the burger and found a beef patty with pepper jack cheese melted too it, pickled jalapeños, a piece of lettuce covered in red sauce and then a bun saturated in a pink sauce with a tomato stuck to it. I don't think the burger was supposed to have the red sauce on it. I think the red sauce is supposed to be mixed with ranch to create the pink sauce not placed directly on the burger. Anyway after having our mouths burned off, rushing to walgreens for something to soothe my girlfriends stomach, and being overcharged and treated like burdensome customers we will not be returning to this really cool burger place. read more

We went here while bar hopping on a Saturday night. Super friendly bar staff! Met the owner. They had karaoke, which was so much fun to listen to. Ordered truffle fries- they're $3.50 so I didn't have high expectations, but I underestimated them!! The fries were so so tasty. Get your own- at $3.50 for each basket, they're too good to share! I hope this place stays. We will definitely go back for a real burger next time! read more

This is the place to go if you want a local handcrafted fantastic burger without all the bs. Highly recommended. Had the Wisco Inferno on a pretzel bun. The burger was done just right and the sauce used accentuated the jalapeño peppers perfectly. The seasoned french fries were on the right side of crispy. I'll absolutely be coming back. read more

To be fair, I expected a gastropub. What I got was a typical Wisconsin bar that had better than usual burgers. I ordered their spicy burger that had Carolina reaper pepper sauce. It was spicy, but certainly did not cause any physical distress. The fries were also done well. Crispy, but not burnt. I think that the emphasize on burgers was a good choice for this bar. However, the bar part...not so much. They had 4 beers on tap (perhaps 5) and they are barely worth talking about. Mostly domestic coors, bud, shocktop. There was a large beer list at the table and I was thinking that this place had it all. Not so. I recommend sticking to food here and moving along to the rest of downtown in order to enjoy a drink. read more

The frozen patties in my burger resulted in a burger that was not juicy. The quality of the meat was disappointing.

Tried this place because of a write up in a local magazine. They have a great cocktail menu and beer selection. I liked their unique burger selection. The only complaint is the pricing of their sides. While the burgers are appropriately priced the sides are too expensive for what you get. I ordered onion rings, $5, and received 6 onion rings. My friend ordered sweet potato fries, $6.50, and got about 8-10 fries. The staff was friendly. The food took awhile to come out due to only two ladies working a busy night and having to handle bartending, cooking and waiting on the tables. read more

The ol home burger Bar.. Came to Appleton for the NCAA World Series in 2016... Our teams hotel was a 2 minute walk from this place and boy was I thankful. I love a good burger and saw the great reviews so I took my family there tonight. I was not impressed. The burger was over cooked, the fries were not fresh and it took forever to get our burgers. I had to go ask about them twice. Also they don't come to your table to take your order. I have to fight with everyone at the bar to give them my order. On top of that they look for a tip on the bill for no service. We are one and done at this bar/burger place. read more

Myself, my girlfriend and a friend came into Home on Saturday night around 7:30 pm for dinner. The menu and atmosphere was hip and well laid out, but that is the only good aspect of this "restaurant". The staff were all multi tasking, very poorly. The only time out waitress checked in on us is when we asked her to or flagged her down. We were rudely kicked out of our original table by their karaoke guy - then never acknowledged that it happened by any of the staff. By the time 8:30 rolled around we each had one refill and no mention to why the food was taking so long. At 8:45 our food came and 2 out of 3 meals were incorrect. One had to be remade due to dietary restrictions, the other was just left the same due to hunger. While they assured me that the burger was being remade ASAP, at least 3 other burgers were served before mine. All in all, I got my BURGER AND FRIES, in around 2 hours! Absolutely unacceptable. The most frustrating part was the owner sipping beer near the bar, completely ignoring the customers being served so poorly. The one upside to the restaurant was the manager. She comped half the incorrect meals. And seemed like she knew what she was doing - while trying to manage an incompetent staff and owner. I will never visit this place again and highly advise no one else to waste their time. read more

I tried this place on the word-of-mouth recommendation of my cousin and his fiance. I have since been back about 10 times in the last 3 months. The first time we went I wasn't thrilled to find that it is just a bar. I was expecting more of a bar/restaurant. There are just a few high-top tables if you don't want a stool at the bar. But after having my first burger here.......they could have sat me on the floor and I'd still call it my favorite burger place. These are the best burgers I've ever had. The perfect combination of gourmet/creative and juicy/classic/high-quality. My favorite so far was a monthly offering, The Big Dill, with both sliced pickle and fried pickle on it. I dream about it still. I'm begging it be added to the permanent menu! The truffle fries are super addictive too. I also have to mention that the girls we always see working behind the bar are fantastic! If you don't mind a classic WI bar setting and love a truly perfect burger......you have to try this place! read more

Went here for lunch date. Decent beer selection - would love more tap options. My HUGE issue is that ALL burgers are cooked MEDIUM WELL... what a perfectly good waste of meat. I am an adult, I understand food borne illnesses...at least meet us Med-rare lovers half way with a simple Medium. Given that 80% of your menu consists burgers it would be nice to have a little more lee way as to how the burger is cooked. Very disheartening when the selection of burgers appears very yummy ...ugh medium well. read more
