It began with bathroom faucets that started leaking shortly after installation due to faulty cartridges. Most recently, I purchased a modern thermostatic shower system, which arrived missing a crucial support bracket. Even more concerning, the cartridge inside the system is also defective--hot water stops after about 15 minutes and doesn't return. Communicating with the store has been extremely difficult. There also seems to be a lack of product knowledge--staff were unfamiliar with what a cartridge was or how to replace one. I eventually had to find a photo online just to explain what I was referring to. After that, I was told a replacement would be ordered from their supplier and to follow up in a couple of weeks. When I followed up (both by phone and text), I was told the store owner would come to my home to inspect the issue--despite not being a licensed plumber. That visit never happened. I was then asked to visit the store in person, where I was offered a replacement shower system that I had already seen lying around the store weeks prior. It had no packaging and visible scratches, yet I was told it was brand new. After driving twice from Pickering to Markham, I was still left without the missing support bracket. Despite multiple follow-ups, I was eventually told the part was no longer available--even though the same shower system is still being sold in-store. This business has been unreliable, unhelpful, and difficult to work with. The customer service is lacking, and the quality of products is questionable. It was pricey to have the shower unit installed by a contractor and now, I will have to pay hundreds more to have a plumber install the replacement, which I'm not certain if it will work any better than the first. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for bathroom fixtures and supplies.

Typically we like to walk around unbothered and only ask for service if we had any questions or needed help so his attention was a bit concerning for us at first. This feeling only lasted a few minutes because he then walked us around the store explaining each product we were interested which included if the company was Canadian owned and where the product was made. He made reasonable recommendations both in price point and quality and offered amazing discounts where he could. We bought a shower system and then went back for a new tub and toilets on a second visit. And the elderly gentleman? He is the owner. So down to earth and approachable. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is doing renovations and in need of fixtures or a new toilet or tub.

Why NEVER to buy an appliance from Home Depot !!…read more We recently purchased an LG washer and dryer set from the Home Depot on Ellesmere Road in Toronto. We wanted an GE profile which has features such as "deep fill" for the water level, but were told that this model is not available in Canada due to the trade war. Fine. we were sold an LG set washer model WT6105CM as being it's equivalent. It certainly is NOT ! The settings include "deep fill" but only allows a corresponding setting of "deep wash" (not normal or delicate, etc.). there is no soaking feature... After we ruined, a large load of delicate items turned into rags, we were explained to never use deep wash as this setting is very abrasive and intended for the washing of construction clothing and the like. Returning to the Home Depot with the damaged clothing, we were told that we only had 24 hours to return the appliances (never previously alerted to...) An LG technician who was dispatched several weeks later after we had made a half dozen visits to Home Depot to get the issue resolved, explained that the "deep wash" on this model is a "never to be used setting other than for construction level dirt cleaning" he also disclosed that he buys all his appliances from Costco, which has a 90 day return policy (including for appliances) versus Home Depot's ridiculous 24 hours. The technician was very sympathetic to the issue. We had with these enforced settings and took photos of the ruined clothes. We continue to turn our towels and sheets into shreds when setting a deeper water level. The LG dryer DLE 6100 M also has default settings likely designed by a man... At dry level "normal" say for bath towels, it restricts the temperature to "medium heat" and won't allow the "high heat" setting so you have to run it TWICE! !A Home Depot supervisor suggested [after the fact) to only buy machines with basic settings that are all owner controlled . After months of frustration, wasted time and effort trying to deal with different departments and "managers" at both Home Depot and LG we have received ZERO satisfaction, nor compensation for damages caused by 1. the failure to disclose that it is not compatible with the GE profile model and 2. A policy requiring the consumer to return major appliances within 24 hours of purchase in contrast to 90 day return policies at stores such as Costco . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !

Then I returned a few days later to return a tap because my plumber needed another style set up, and he remembered me and offered to exchange to another item, as the refund policy is strict here. They have a house brand called Royal, which syle looks like another premier brand but for way less, and it feels really solid, full of metal not plastic parts like you get at a big box store. Lots of high end bathroom plumbing parts, free standing, bath tubs, toilets, bowl sinks and vanities on sale over the winter. My work colleague did warn me, she also bought from them at this sale, and a small piece was missing from her shower set in the sealed box. When she asked for them to help they referred her to the company(Grohe in this example) as they are the ones who packed the boxes and can send the replacement/missing pieces and not this store. I can see why this would upset customers, but Home Depot would do the same. So far so good, happy with my purchases on plumbing hardware.

The faucet is complete garbage, and now I have to buy a new faucet because I didn`t return it, so that`s on me. One thing I liked when I signed up is they have this minimum guaranteed savings (e.g., hardwood flooring could be a minimum 20% cheaper guaranteed than any price available to the public). The problem was the staff in-store refused to honour this guarantee, providing different non-nonsensical excuses. Add to this their completely antiquated e-commerce website where you need to click through to the checkout page before you can see the true cost for an item, and this was all a huge waste of time. Don't bother with the travel side of the company either. I just got another telemarketing call from them and the guy wouldn't tell me what the fees were, at first pretending like my membership was still valid in his system, and kept on just beating around the bush.
