Really tired of this american company gauging Canadians the way they do. Even with our Canadian dollar fluctuating 20-30% less than the american dollar these prices they are gauging us with is insulting. Sometimes the prices are more than double and i have seen triple for the same bloody thing. Compare the pics and see what I mean. $2.36 a sqft vs $1.01 (or $1.22 canadian with exchange) More than double for the same crap. read more

We moved to a new area Oct 2021 and decided to go to Home Depot for our flooring and have them install it. They advised us that it would be a 4-6 week wait for the install which we expected due to the staff shortages from Covid. When we reached out to them around the 4 week mark as we had not heard back, they advised us that it would be best to contact the installers to confirm the date. When we spoke to them they were only offering a date of Dec 20th or the week after New Years. We confirmed after New Years and it was delayed another week before they actually came out. They also charged us for a huge amount of floor levelling product at the add'l cost of $450 on our bill, which was not used and we had to go back to the store for the refund. The work was done good but it was a hassle trying to live around their time frame. Fast forward to this weekend, we found some toilets on Black Friday in store that had a sign for $148 from $218. We wanted 2 of them so we went to customer service as we needed them delivered. Firstly, no one knew of the price reduction, it came up on the computer at $218 and they had to start over with the order as the computer wasnt giving us the right price. They advised us they could deliver them on Monday and they would only give us a call to advise us they are on their way about a half hour prior. My husband stayed home all day for the delivery & called them around 11 and they said the toilets were on the truck. 3:00 came and no toilets delivered, he called again and they said the toilets were returned to the store because the order was cancelled! It was not cancelled, so they are trying again today to deliver them for no delivery fee. Again we do have to go to the store, which is about a 20 min drive away to get our delivery fee refunded! I will say they have a good selection of products, but make sure you do cash and carry and dont use their installation services! read more

We came here to buy a variety of goodies to fix Mum's house and were overwhelmed by how the staff was knowledgeable, nice and ready-to-help. I say overwhelmed because not one moment went by, from the second we entered the store, where there wasn't someone there helping us find what we needed. A special kudos to the boys in the plumbing department! We had a couple of tough issues and they were amazing! They found all of our tough items, made suggestions to help our home task be a bit easier, directed us to a rental tool that we didn't know was necessary and made our shopping trip super successful! That doesn't mean the rest of the shop wasn't spot-on too because it was. I'm a big fan of Home Depot in the states and they've made me a fan of HD Canada!! read more

They listen patiently, genuinely want to help, and often go above and beyond selflessly! Low level customer service, fairly unhelpful staff (ie 'yes the website says we have 5 in stock but I don't see them so it must be wrong' turns out they were there after calling in the order), misleading displays/items not properly marked (hardwood flooring misquoting dimensions on box and display), I can't recommend anywhere over this place more. I gave them so many chances too. By default I have to go to Lowe's and even pay a little more. read more

There was an an amazing helping person, Cathy, in Appliance Sales, who tried very hard to solve my problems with an on-line order. The whole thing was a total nightmare!. Wrong name on my order which made any questions impossible!. Then they had 2 dishwashers listed, but no fridge!!.. I was given 3 dates for delivery and once one date had been confirmed, theyn"lost" that order, so delivery was a day late. Fridge installation consisted of plugging it in, but no water connection was done!! Dishwasher installation did happen, but no packaging was removed. ":We don't do that" So I was left with mountains on polystyrene, wood struts etc. RUBBISH, RUBBISH SERVICE. DO NOT ORDER ON LINE, Customer Care is a laugh, my long-distance bill is ENORMOUS trying to solve all of this. read more

Went to buy new stove, service staff was great and very knowledgeable but follow up after stove was delivered with minor damage was a nightmare. We needed the stove and as the defect did not affect the operation we kept it and received a promise that some compensation was due for the defect. While the amount was not huge, getting it from the company was impossible. Calling the Home Depot customer line was infuriating - they put me on hold multiple times and several minutes per stretch while they 'investigated' my claim. Kept promising to call back but never ever did. The reason why I have tagged the store, is that I went back to customer service at the location and they were entirely not helpful and referred me back to the 1-800 number. If you get an appliance and it's damaged, send it back. Better still, buy from a company that has better customer service. read more

I went in recently to buy a part for a minor household repair. I knew the exact piece I needed and where it was, so I didn't need any assistance. This one older store clerk came up to me and asked if he could help me. I politely told him that I knew where and what I needed, and thanked him for the offer. But he stayed beside me the entire time. (I suspect that he had decided from my torn jeans and T-shirt that I must be a shoplifter. And therefore it was his purpose in life to stare at me the entire time I am shopping.) He watched as I looked at the part to check that it was the right one, as I looked at other parts to see if anything else would fit, and as I decided to put it back because I really didn't want to make a purchase at that point. In future I will do my hardware shopping at Canadian Tire instead! read more

I just had a horrific customer experience with Home Depot. Found a deck storage box that I want. Online inventory shows that the store has 5 in stock, so I went to the store. I had 2 different junior assistant's each verify on their computer that their local stock was showing 5 in stock at the store. However, none of use could find any of the actual articles anywhere on the floor or shelf. Eventually another associate checked the computer and shelves - still not found. I had my 8 year old son waiting for me for which was now 30 minutes. I offered to provide my phone number and the "senior" staff member told me she was too busy to call me. She told me to try another store because their computer was showing it in stock 40 minutes away at another store. I told her that it's the same computer system showing inventory and asked how I could trust the count if they were unable to find the items in their own store? Eventually, I had no choice but to leave the store without purchasing the item. Later that day I called and left my number. No call back now 2 days later. Unbelievable. read more
