This bistro local restaurant iran by mennonites, everything is HOMEMADE and absolutely amazing!! They are only open at night on Thursdays and they serve have pizza, wings, breadsticks on the menu. I've only been on a Thursday but they serve soup, salads sandwiches for lunch M-F. The cake and cheesecake are amazing so I'd suggest to same room for a slice. The servers walk around with all the cake sliced on a tray which makes it even more tempting. It's a definite stop if your passing through!! Although the place was clean and the staff friendly, the food was flavorless and extremely overpriced for what it was. I am beyond disappointed in the quality of even a simple grilled cheese. First visit here. It lived up to the other reviews!! We hit it right at the lunch rush and the place was packed. Service was quick and efficient. Food was well presented and delicious. I had the daily special and it was all good. My wife had a club sandwich and pasta salad. Bread appeared homemade and soft. Pasta salad was perfectly cooked pasta with a very flavorful dressing. We have been traveling through Louisville, Ga going to Hazlehurst, Ga for over 35 years but today is the first time we have eaten at Home Fresh Bistro. I'm so glad we stopped in for lunch. The food is delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is of a small Savannah restaurant with the historic charm of brick walls. Very clean restaurant. Service was so-so. Upon arriving, we were seated and given menus. Waitress came back to get drink orders. While we were waiting, another couple came in, was seated, given menus and brought drinks before us. We had already been waiting for nearly 10 minutes. I don't know maybe the other couple was "special". Waitress finally comes and asks for our order and drink order...I told her she had already got our drink order...when she brought our food she kind of dropped it on the table and slapped our ticket down. The philly was incredible, as was the soup of the day, it was just a baked potato soup but man was it good. And then the cake! I'm not inherently a cake person but I was told by the guy who brought me here that I had to get some. So I got the strawberry cake and boy was that a good decision! The Home Fresh Bistro is worth turning off of the highway to the business district of Louisville, Ga. This restaurant offers a good variety of menu items fresh hot and cold sandwiches, soups, burgers, and salads. Their BLT with a side of fresh pasta salad was delicious. The bacon cheeseburger was perfect. We could not resist their fresh desserts. The salted caramel cheesecake and hand scooped milk shake were both wonderful. My wife and I stopped at Home Fresh Bistro for lunch on our way through Georgia. The restaurant is a family run business that was clean and the food was great. The service was friendly and fast also. Our orders were taken quickly, the food was brought out soon after, and our drinks were kept full. I ordered the Grilled Cheese (and added ham to it). The bread on the sandwich was delicious. It really complimented the cheese and ham. My wife ordered the smoked turkey sandwich. She said her sandwich was good as well. It's worth mentioning again how clean it was in the restaurant (including the bathrooms). It definitely was not a "dive" style diner. read more
