Our health care provider gave us a list so I hopped on Yelp and took a look at some reviews. This one had such a high rating I had to read through the other reviews to be sure, but this was our first choice and we got it! This is not what I am used to in larger healthcare settings, but I am so glad that they aren't some super excessively large entity because the personal service we received was out of this world! Literally could not have asked for anything better in caring for our family. It started with our provider reaching out to their offices, shortly after that calls started coming in to deliver the bed and supplies (they use Hospice Source for equipment delivery - will pen another review for them specifically). Once we figured out what they do and don't provide we hopped on Amazon for anything else we didn't already have so we could be thoroughly prepared for our loved ones care. Intake Nurse was at our home shortly after our family member came home from the hospital. They hand you and informational booklet (handy way to keep everything organized and sorted) with homework assignments already inside for the funeral arrangements, general definitions, even a spot to write your entire care teams name and number so everyone in the home has access, etc. We even received a blue card to place on the fridge for contact information for our care team! Our private team was 2 nurses, an aide, social worker, chaplain and even a couple on-call/after hours nurses as needed too. Every one of these staff members we were assigned were absolutely phenomenal! Supreme service all around, if I had my own company I would extend each and every person that came in a job offer. They were THAT good. Hospice work is very tough to continuously be with people at often their lowest point or right before they pass away. With all the heightened emotions of the patient, family and their own personal lives.. you can imagine this is often a thankless job. We expressed our gratitude thoroughly to every one of our staff and I am writing this review to tell anyone reading to have some patience, compassion, and grace. I am updating the review, because of the misunderstanding that they also contract with Honors Home Health ..who provides the staffing. Cheryl will go above and beyond when situations happen, and I felt bad because she works hard and does a great job with setting up her clients. Our unfortunate incident, hopefully will help any future families to not have to go through with what happened to us. It doesn't solve our problem, and now I will have to start the process all over again. 12/4/2021 I really, really wanted this to work out.. My two son's needed some caregiver relief, and was really counting on the care... Unfortunately, we set up a schedule for coverage, of Friday-Sunday... The previous weekend of Saturday and Sunday was covered... (they couldn't find anyone for Friday's shift) ... Yesterday, received a text an hour before the shift saying the caregiver would not be coming... Ughhhhhh...so my son's had to rearrange their schedule to come back and watch their dad who has brain cancer-GBM... We questioned if we were going to have coverage for today, and they said they were working on it. Later in the evening, received a text that we do have coverage.. My oldest had plans to travel to the Bay Area for a birthday celebration, while the youngest was scheduled to work.. An hour before we received another text saying no caregiver!!.... I cancelled the contract as of today, and now my son's are changing their plans again because of this mishap... Cheryl was great in helping us with the intake papers, and also mentioned that if we committed, we would have a better chance of getting the same caregiver.. Obviously this caregiver was never trained properly on how to get an elder patient into the car. She fully did not safely put my mom in the car before she pulled her safety walker away in the trunk to turn around and let my mom fall under her car in the garage on hard concrete. She suffered from an open fracture in her ankle that was nearly twisted off her body along with a fractured femur, all of this leading up to a slow and extremely painful passing on hospice. I loose my mother but Chaimer still has a job just because she wanted to get in the car 30 minutes faster. Absolutely unacceptable.
