Our family hired Home Instead to take care of my mother for 4 years. My mother felt like she had a friend visiting. The Caregiver was on time everyday. I can't tell you enough how their service gave my entire family peace of mind. My mother is now in heaven and we know her transition was made easier thanks to Home Instead. They went behind the family backs and set up Care for someone in our opinion that was not appropriate. However if that is what our family member wants we will not oppose it. However we think we should have at the very least been consulted regarding his choices. I hope they take very good care of him read more

I started with a different service and am able to compare as a result. I realized I should have chosen Home Instead first for in home care for my mother. Staff was professional and compassionate. I received phone calls when any staff were going to be more than 5 minutes late and anything more, they made sure an experienced caregiver was there within fifteen minutes. I was apprised of any new behaviors or needs, and the nurse was ready to answer any questions I had. Cost was reasonable given the amount of staff investment in my mother's care - well worth it. Caregivers were attentive, experienced, mature and capable. read more

Warning...... Communication is very very poor. The caregivers are very nice but this business is very manipulative in there contracts and their contracts with there employees are very manipulative. Unbelievably hard to get in contact with the people in charge I cannot believe that this is an operational business with the way this business treats its employees and it's customers. read more

Be very careful when you sign Home Instead's agreement. They will tell you one rate but not make it clear of any stipulations that will drive you to the higher rate. We were told a rate of 16.50 for 24 hour care, the card said the caregiver had to get at least 6 hours sleep. We were shocked to see our bill come in at 20.50 per hour because the caregiver did not get a solid six hour of sleep. They slept longer that that, but were 'interrupted'. What a scam. That was never explained like that, or I would have not agreed. Whereas most of their caregivers were excellent, the loopholes for billing will are very questionable and cost my parents 1632.50 in additional costs that we had not anticipated. Shop around and be careful. read more

In 1997, Steve N. helped bring Home Instead services to seniors throughout Wisconsin by opening his first franchise location in Green Bay. Now with additional offices in Appleton, Cedarburg, Kenosha, Oshkosh, Madison, Racine, Sheboygan and Sturgeon Bay, Steve has personal ties to the senior-care space and is a passionate advocate. In fact, Steve's business is dedicated to the memory of his grandfather, Al DeCleene, who battled dementia, and passed away shortly before the opening of Steve's first Home Instead franchise. When Steve opened Home Instead locally in 1997, he was its only employee. Today, his business employs more than 800 full- and part-time employees, and is among the largest of the 700+ franchise groups for Home Instead worldwide.

Meet the Business Owner: Steve N.

Steve revered his grandfather, Al DeCleene. When Al was relocated to an area assisted living facility for his remaining days, Steve and his family knew it was the best option at the time. Still, the transition was difficult for everyone, including Grandpa Al. It was through this family experience that Steve decided to open Wisconsin's very first Home Instead franchise in 1997. His goal was to provide seniors like his Grandpa Al and their families more options as they cope with the challenges of aging.
