I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the services provided by your company Detroit Concrete Leveling and the lack of resolution regarding my project. I hired your company on May 2nd for concrete leveling and caulking work. Since then, your crews have been to my home twice, and the work remains incomplete despite repeated assurances that these issues would be addressed. My project manager, Lawrence, has failed to properly manage this project. Aside from coming to my home to sell the job, he has never returned to inspect the work, review the damages, or ensure the project was completed as promised. Despite being notified immediately of the issues, he has not provided a resolution. The issues include: * Damage to my egress window well caused by your mudjacking crew, resulting in approximately $3,000 in repair costs that I will have to pay out of pocket. * Damage to my garden hose caused by your crew. They threw it on the ground! * Failed holes on the leveling work that was completed. * Poor-quality caulking work that was left incomplete. * Debris, materials, and a mess left behind by your crew. * A second service visit that still failed to complete the work, with the crew leaving without resolving the outstanding issues or having anyone from the home review the project. What is most concerning is the complete lack of project oversight. Lawrence has never come to inspect the workmanship, review the damage caused to my property, or verify that the work was completed correctly. At this point, I have paid for services that were not delivered as promised and have been left to deal with property damage and additional expenses caused by your company. I have been more than patient throughout this process. I hired Detroit Concrete Leveling expecting professional workmanship, accountability, and communication. Instead, I have received incomplete work, property damage, and little effort toward resolution. EDIT to reply to owners comment: It's important to note that multiple attempts were not made to rectify this issue, and seemingly my issues have and continue to be ignored. If this was the case, on visit #2 (June 15 2026) my caulking would have been completed, my failed holes filled, and the MESS left by your crew would have been cleaned. But no, after a 2nd visit i was left with all of the above not being completed. I now am expected to schedule a THIRD visit to my home, to complete a job that should've been done 7 weeks ago. I selected DCL to complete some mudjacking in both the front and backside of our home. The chosen work date (make-up date) conflicted with my work availability. DCL staff said no issue, happens all the time. When I returned that night, I noticed some damage was done to a brick paver walk when the equipment was moved. Got 5 estimates from local companies for mud jacking. Not only was DCL the lease expensive, they were professional, friendly and fast. DCL could fit me in within a week, whereas the other 4 companies I got estimates from were 3-4 weeks. I had several areas that needed leveling, front sidewalk, all up my driveway, the walk to my front porch, and my back porch. They did everything under 2 hours. The crew that came were very polite, professional, and efficient. They cleaned up very well after themselves, and kept me well-informed throughout the whole process. Before calling Detroit Concrete Leveling, we called a competitor of theirs and they came out, looked at what we wanted done and gave us a pretty high estimate, but tried to explain why their service was worth what we thought was too steep of a price. After that 'no thank you' sky high estimate, we found Detroit Concrete Leveling. Please forgive me for not remembering names, but the gentleman who gave us the estimate arrived 15 minutes early, which was nice. Who wants to wait around for someone if they're late, right? After walking him through (no pun intended) on what we needed done, he presented us with a very reasonable quote. We accepted the pricing and he said they were about 3 weeks out for appointments, which was fine for us since it's prime season for outdoor work to be done. After a week though, we received a call saying they could come that day if we wanted it done early. Yes, of course! They two guys were very friendly and professional from start to finish. We had our front door steps raised, a few slabs raised near the front porch, a couple more on the main sidewalk and a section of our garage floor raised too. The entire interaction from initial phone call, to the estimate, to the work being done was A-1. The estimator arrived precisely on schedule, and provided us with a comprehensive and reasonable written quote, with no pressure. We had leveling done to some sidewalk squares, the garage floor, the patio and a concrete pad on the side of the house. They also sealed along the edge of the house where the concrete met the foundation. We have had a lot of rain since they did the work in May and there has been no water in the basement since they completed their work. My neighbors' sidewalk still has puddles long after my sidewalk puddles have drained away. It definitely made a difference. My sidewalk and concrete are all old (30 to 50 years, I believe) so I was not expecting it look perfectly level when done. However, everything that was leveled is working much better than before and the price was very reasonable to me. Cody came out on time to give me a free estimate to level the sidewalk from my driveway to my patio. Cody and his staff arrived at the scheduled date/time, which can vary due to weather. When it rains, they aren't able to do their job and it pushes their schedules back. Cody and his staff came and he talked me through the whole process, answering any questions my Husband and I had. He also cleaned and caulked the area where the concrete and house meet, to ensure no water seepage. I had a couple other quotes that were cheaper, but after researching the products used, DCL had the most worthwhile product. They use limestone, which will harden underneath the concrete, rather than dirt/topsoil/sand which can wash away. To caulk, which is extra, they use a material that attaches well to the concrete and the side of my house which bends easily, instead of tar, which is not recommended. Overall, I'm truly satisfied with their work, how quick and efficient the staff was. They cleaned up after their work and made sure to go over what they just did and any suggestions they had to keep our sidewalk clean. read more
