We didn't want a "Me Too" spray-on cool-deck with plastic dec-o-drains like everyone else. We wanted something really special and finally decided on a Turkish Travertine deck. We quickly found out there is very little travertine expertise in the Austin area. We feel very lucky that we were able to find TJ because as you can see in the pictures he is a true artist! He did all of everything you see except the pool shell and pump equipment. He did all the base-work, concrete, coping and laid over 1000ft of "Autumn" travertine stone in a Versailles pattern. He also engineered the awesome drain systems in the concrete to work with the slotted travertine drain tiles. No plastic deck-o drains here! We couldn't be more happy with the results. We get raving compliments from all our friends and everyone that sees it. The guy with the pool company that came to turn-up the pool and give us pool school said "I absolutely love your deck! I turn up over 300 pools a year and this is my hands down favorite!" Now that's quite a compliment TJ! TJ was a really great guy to work with on this project. He takes great pride in his workmanship and doesn't cut corners. His prices are very reasonable and we are so happy with everything he did for us. Our concern was someone would simply spray it and call it good and charge us a lot of money. We simply couldn't be any happier with the work that Fernando did. I'll go through the steps he took and include my thoughts. 1. During his estimate he made sure to learn how the original paint had been applied so he would know what to fix before he started prepping and painting. 2. He made sure the paint was an exact match to what was already on the island. He went to the same company and got the same paint color. It is a perfect match. 3. He was on time and for the day and a half he took to finish the work he focused on the job. 4. He set up a paint station in the garage where he sanded, primed and painted the doors. Inside, he created a tent over the island so no paint would escape and end up on other parts of the kitchen. None did. 5. On the second day, he checked to see how the paint had dried and ended up doing more sanding and painting to ensure a smooth, covered coating on all surfaces. This job could have been done in a day, maybe less, but Fernando wanted to do it right so he planned enough time so he could do it right. 6. We were satisfied with the quote we got from Fernando. More important was that even though he had to take a few more steps and do some rework to get it just right there was never any mention of charging more. 7. Okay, here's the most important part of my review. I researched different painters and selected Just Pros Painting while my wife was out of town. She was still gone when Fernando completed the work. I know, I was working without a net and if the job wasn't done right it might have gotten ugly. Just kidding... kind of. Upon returning, my wife gave the entire job a thumbs up. Phew! Just Pros Painting has my highest recommendation. Note: Fernando is a super nice guy. I thoroughly enjoyed hanging around while he worked.
