What a pathetically run store first thing I would like to mention…read more I landed up here on a Sunday afternoon it was crowded but not a mad house. My observation and reason for one star. There was barely any staff willing to assist customers I saw a couple of ladies busy doing they job moving stuff etc and another lady behind the registers department that was pretty much it.Most product have no pricing on them and how the heck are we suppose to shop without knowing the price unless BBB gives you access to their unlimited purchase gift card.So so annoying. I liked a tiny container and was hoping to find its price but no luck finally when I was about to check out I took it along with me for a price check turns out it was almost $9 I passed on it and guess what I bought a mini grilling baking brushing thinking it was $1.99 according to the sign and it turns out to be almost $6.CHECK MY PHOTO PLS. Where is the manager to the store where is the staff what aren't things placed correctly and why aren't there any pricing??Could anyone please answer my question-A very unhappy customer.

This is a great store when you have a long list of really random items you need to get but I…read morewouldn't suggest stepping in unless you have the 20% off coupon on deck. In my experience that coupon brings all the items back down to a realistic prize zone (just barely though). I really like the wide variety of products, especially the ones that make you go "Yeah I mean I GUESS I could use that". Another thing is they have some good travel products, quick and cheap tech products and seasonal items. The bedding items are all super overpriced unless discounted and I'm on the fence about the curtains. I like the tech section too because you can get a lot of things, mostly fitbit, and apply the 20% discount. I really liked the return policy circa 2017 but, they recently changed it up to be less lenient (which I definitely understand was necessary considering how many people were being downright ridiculous and taking advantage) but, it's still a bummer. To me, I see this store as a one off visit because they have this uber specific product that I can grab and go or for dorm shopping because it's such an "all-in-one-place" situation and they have a good sale during that time (August-Sept). I would usually opt for a winners/marshalls/home sense situation.

We had an invitation for 10% discount from the company which was confusing. Seems the company does not sufficently empower their front line personnel to close the sale. Hopefully we will receive high quality goods in timely manner? Thank you

We received our first delivery this week and were very disappointed. The sofa that was delivered…read morewas another customer's returned damaged item. There was a cut on one of the arm rest as if someone used an exacto knife. When the delivery man opened up the wrapping he pointed it out to us right away. What was worse was when I found a return form from the original customer on the sofa cushion. It noted that the customer returned it back in February because there was a rip on the arm rest. I called Urban Barn customer service support immediately and was told to send in photos. The CSR did contact me back after a few hours offering a 10% refund and a new sofa will be delivered to the warehouse the following week. When we originally purchased the sofa, the sales rep stated the bed frame would be delivered at the same time. When the delivery men came they said the bed frame wasn't at the warehouse. I found out through the CSR that it wasn't ready and it's estimated delivery time would be next week. In the future I'll spend my hard earned money somewhere else.

HomeSense is a large department store with brand name products at very decent prices…read more It's part of parent TJX Companies holding that also includes Winners & Marshalls so you might notice some similarities in how all these stores is layed out. HomeSense stores have brand name merchandise for any room in your home including art, furniture, lighting and rugs. The consumer target market is drop-in customers as you can't shop on-line (...which is currently the case). On any given week they can stock a product you may never see stocked again. Other HomeSense stores may not have the same product on hand. If you like it, then I suggest you buy as you can always return it if you change your mind. Staff are helpful and checkouts are fairly quick.

Had some time to kill before a showing, so I stopped off at this tucked away Homesense in Clarkson…read moreVillage, re: home of the old White, sometimes rich, people! Size-wise, this Homesense was not as impressive as the ones that I've been to at Bathurst/Centre (Thornhill) or even Vaughan Mills. It's on the smaller size, HOWEVER, the benefit is that it's waaay quieter than those other locations. Actually, it's probably even quieter than any Winners that I've been to! The location definitely has a part to play in that "been transported back in time" feeling. There's no sense of urgency or rush, just relaxation. I had a question about what was included in a package of bedding - it wasn't stated on the label - and the sales associate, who was doing something else at the time, actually went to another associate to find out for me. Who does that nowadays? If I were in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to stop here 'cause I don't like shopping in crowded places.

The TJ Maxx line of stores have always fascinated me…read more The three brands - WInners, Homesense and Marshall's - have made their trade in being a glorified clearance store for many low and mid-range brands, and this location in Clarkson is no exception. I'd argue that it's the perfect fit for the Clarkson community, as it accurately sums the sleepy, docile nature of the community. I ended up coming here to kill a few hours and get in on some late Boxing Day shopping after the New Year, and was extremely surprised to find that half the store was on clearance. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that a good 40-50% of the goods on sale were either marked with tags or set up on "Clearance" endcaps, which was extremely amusing considering there was SO MUCH of it still on display. $2 packs of PUR gum, dirt-cheap Christmas and designer decorations, all sorts of weird food items for pennies on the dollar... makes the mind boggle with how much product is back there that they struggle to sell it all even with 80-90% discounts. One thing I'll definitely give the store credit for is that it's generally very quiet, the service is prompt, and you're generally bound to find something you want, whether it's a weird knick-knack or a book that interests you. In the end, we ended up buying a bunch of themed Christmas foods (including peppermint bark coffee liqueur and chocolate candy-cane shaped shortbread cookies), along with some odds and ends. I find I like visiting here every time in the area. Despite it's similar layout and product offerings as Winners (take out the men's/women's fashion and you have Homesense), the service and selection put it a cut above. Definitely a worthwhile anchor store in Clarkson Village Plaza.
