I have to agree with Lisa S. I received the same poor treatment as she did,can't tell you how disappointed I am in the whole process, Signed a contract in May of 2014 and never got into it until last of Oct. and it still was not finished still had to wait for deck to be finished sometime in February 2015 , the deck that has washed out twice. I am still finding chunks of concrete in my yard. The meter is installed upside down so I have to stand on my head to read it. David very rarely answered my phone calls. We signed our contract with Home Paradise Pools in July of 2014 for a pool and spa/ hot tub attached with the understanding that they couldn't begin the project until mid September and that the pool would be completed in no more than 3 months (which is twice as long has his competitors). LIE. This was fine with us because our son was coming home for Christmas before being deployed with the Marines in January and we thought how great it would be that he would get to enjoy the hot tub before he left. Fast forward to December 17th - the 3 month mark and it still was not finished! My husband sent an email regarding the progress and received no response from David Blackerby (owner). When he finally got up with us (to receive a payment) we asked about the email and he stated he never received one. LIE. We know this because he answered a later email where my husband stated we were very frustrated with the progress because it was taking longer to build the pool than it did to build the house we were living in!!! Our pool was completed in 6 1/2 months. I wish I had made him add it into the contract that he would be finished with the pool in 3 months or would have to pay $100 a day. This would have been satisfactory to us since we paid him almost $50K to build the pool. I wish we would have paid the extra money to have Cox Pools install the pool in 6 weeks. Also in the paperwork David gives you at the end, it states that you MUST take a water sample in each month to test the PH balance of the pool to his company. If you don't this could affect your warranty. This is bull because each time we've taken a sample in, of course it's not correct and we have to purchase MORE chemicals to get it right. I believe this is a gimmick to sell products from his store. The pool is beautiful but it's beauty is tainted by the experience of getting the thing built. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and I predict that by this time next year he will be out of business because of his blatant lies about how long it takes to complete the job. In Bay County, you are only as good as your word and his word is CRAP! read more

Do not use this pool company! They took over 7 months to build our small pool. Once the owner gets your deposit you will never see him again and only hear from him when he wants more money. They damaged the ledge of our pool during the build and promised to return to fix it but never did. Now in addition to the initial damage thier workmen caused, there are several cracks along the decking and despite repeated efforts they refuse to even contact us much less fix the problem. It was a truely horrible experience working with David BlackBerry. I urge you to go e elsewhere. They did not deserve our business, they didn't deserve yours. read more

Do not use this pool company. It took over 6 months to build our small pool and hot tub and we were delayed over a week getting our COO to move into our new home until the pool was completed. Then it was over 3 months before we saw them again to give us the computer app to turn our pool on and off. Thank goodness my husband was smart enough to learn how to turn things on and off until PP decided they wanted the last $2000 that we owed them, so they came and completed the contract to get paid. Of recent, the 'under warranty' thermostat went out and after we called several times over a month and even my husband went by the business , we never heard from these 'in business by luck' pool people. We finally contacted a competitor that handled Pentair for our warranty thermostat, and the owner said he is always fixing their mistakes and warranty defaults. Our pool and hot tub are working fine now but do yourself a favor, DO NOT USE PARADISE POOLS AND SPAS! David is a smooth talker but never follows through. YOU WILL REGRET IT IN THE END! read more

We signed the contract on a $40,000 dollar pool in January of 2018 with approx 9K at signing. David, the owner, was cordial at our first meeting. From then on the entire pool construction was a fiasco. We started construction on a new home in PCB and opted to go out of the contractor's recommendation, which was a mistake in my opinion. I should have listened to him. First of all David will NOT work or even talk to a contractor and he will not coordinate anything regarding the pool with a builder. My contractor attempted many times to contact him with no avail, but that was the case with us too, he does not respond to calls or texts as you would think someone in this business would. The only time you hear from him is when he wants money!! The people at the shop and the crews doing the work have no clue what he does all day. You can call the shop and ask for him and you get a chuckle and they will tell you he doesn't come here and we have no idea where he is. I can tell you where he is not, he is not checking on your pool, he has no clue what his guys are doing or what the progress of your pool looks like or the schedule of your pool. I paid for two bubblers up front at the time of signing the contract and they forgot to install them so they had to come back and drill holes in the concrete to install them and they are weak, not only are they weak they can not be operated by the 1000 dollar wi fi system I paid for to operate the pool from inside the house or remotely. He left his machinery in our yard for long periods of time his crews will leave trash and large pieces of concrete extra rebar etc....on the job site for you to clean up, again he has no clue what's going on with your pool because he is never around and does not check behind his employees. You can research his permits of the pools he is doing and everyone of the customers are in the same boat ....sit and wait on David, oh ya he can't give you anything because he has no clue of the progress of your pool. This was my experience. Every person I have spoken to since I signed the contract from customers to contractors to business owners told me I made a mistake and that I would regret it, and boy have I regretted it. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They offered lower than Cox Pools to get my business. Trust me, if I knew then what I know now, I would of gladly spent the extra money. I regret signing a contract w/ HP Pools. The employees are fine, Management is not. Constantly calling to get an update on when my pool will be finished after it's been sitting untouched for 5 plus weeks. Hardly ever receive a callback. I've been told my pool will be finished 3 different times. It's absolutely ridiculous. I want people to know what they are possibly getting into if they sign a contract w/ HP Pools. read more
