It's located right behind their Synagogue and a few blocks off Mamaroneck Ave. I'll be straight up, heading down the few steps leading to Back Door seemed sketchy- but I moved past that because I knew there was light at the end of the tunnel. Back Door isn't huge- but to their defense, they have a good handle gathering items by sections. Upscale and lower-end items are all mixed in together, so you're going to have to do a little digging. I've been doing Thrift shopping for ages- but my thing is...there ain't nothing a good dry cleaners won't do. I'm usually on the hunt for something weird and sorting through the aisles to see if I find a treasure or two. Majority of times, I've doctored up my pieces, gotten rid of buttons to replace with funkier ones, replaced lamp shades, bought large wooden pieces of whatever, etc. Then again...there's always Pinterest. Right? This is the place to haggle- and by the way- it's only CA$H. I scored a Rainbow Cuff Bracelet for $3, a few other Bracelets. Plus a bright Red and Fuschia Clutch going for $10- and in the end, got it for $6. Nice experience, wouldn't hurt me to try it again.

The cashier that I had was a really nice man and I think he felt bad that was too afraid to ask the owner for a change in price. Normally, this place is my go to thing for everything. But prices have gone up. It's literally not a dollar store anymore. They actually change the prices when they get to the cashier. Just a note to the dollar zone. I don't mind paying more for something, but I just wanted to let you know the stickers that you put on your items do not come off so it's hard to give them as a gift.

Everything is now $1.19…read more (wouldnt $1.20 be easier) The biggest problem is the staff...they are a large Indian family who yell across the store all the time...any time you ask where something is (since they move items constantly), they act as if you are asking for their first born child! They treat customers like cattle....they know me...i have told them i have had bowel surgery and have urgency which does not allow me to leave to go to the nearest store without a major accident...They responded that they would have me arrested. i told them to please call the cops and they could find me in the staff toilet. Since that time, they have accused me of "breaking things", leaving the BR a mess (trust me...the homeless would be offended by the filth). Oh, BTW, they never called the cops when i used their bathroom nor did they complain when i pulled deodorize, hand soap and paper towels from their shelves to stock their bathroom!! We still shop there for bargains...esp holiday items...but i am as nasty to them as they are to me and others...getting yelled at is normal for them...I remind them we are not in the streets of Calcutta and deoderant and manners are routine in our neck of the woods!! Why still shop there, you ask? Well, my shopping has decreased by at least 50% and i am very clear what i am there for and take NONE of their crap...btw, i can honestly say at least 5 of my friends feel exactly the same way...basically, we use them when it is convenient for us and we dont feel like paying $5.95 for a BD card.....but they manageed to alienate most of the neighborhood! But on a very rare blue moon though, I stop here and get it out of my system to buy those neutral color cloth bins that come in different sizes for my Laundry Room. Or maybe pick up small containers to sort thingamajigs in my drawer- like for Hair Pins, Hair Rubber Bands, etc. I also pick up some of those cute and colorful Paper Clips or Thumb Tacks- I keep in my home office and 5lb Kettle Bells I surprisingly found for $5ea. I mean......where else can you find such a bargain like that??? Modells? I don't think so. But at any rate, Five has an endless amount of stuff- for errbody and almost every room of your home.
