If I could give a lower rating than 1 star I would! First I came to this store bc it came highly recommended by very good friends of ours. We live 45 mins away so I decided to take the drive. Prior to arriving I made an appointment a week out and asked the girl who answered the phone how everything works. She explained to me that they take all items and I did NOT have to fold the clothes. I specify asked that question! Also she never mentioned to be about seasonal items they accept. Ok I was no happy driving all this way but decided to leave two bags anyway. I left the store and the owner Jean called me a left a VM telling me I was mistaken and they don't operate like that and no one would of told me that bc her girls are trained and wouldn't say the things I was saying. She accused me of making the mistake and thinking that they were once upon a time store etc... I called back to speak with Jean and asked her if she was calling me a liar bc clearly she thought I was bc they don't operate that way. NOW PLEASE TELL ME WHY I WOULD WASTE MY TIME DRIVING 45 MINS TO A PLACE THAT WOULDN'T TAKE ALL MY ITEMS!?! She called me angry told me to pick up the clothes I left there and hung up on me. She CALLED BACK and left another lengthily VM telling me that I was lying and it probably was once upon a time that I called bc no one would tell me the things I said. I will save both VM forever just to have proof she is the crazy one. Thank you for wasting my time! read more

I have been to this place for my pregnancy and post baby items while pregnant both times. Lots of great baby items but lacking a lot in their maternity options for mom. I would say it's a hit or miss depending on which week you go. But great prices. read more

What a great store. I bought two beautiful sweaters for only 5$ each. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The clothes are almost new. Very nice selection of toys and strollers (they had a almost new Uppababy Vista). We'll definitely come back. read more

This store is a great place to find all sorts of gently used & sometimes new in the box treasures for kids at a great price. They have games, puzzles, books, toys galore, baby items, outdoor toys, strollers of all types, you name it. The stock changes constantly, I stop by here weekly and almost always leave with something. The owners are super friendly. Many people sell on consignment, but I do not so I can't speak to that. read more

Not a place I would visit again. Upon entering the store, the clerk behind the counter didn't acknowledge us and then eventually proceeded to go into the back office to complain with the ladies sitting there. Finally after waiting for about 10 mins to check out, I proceeded to go get someone to check out and the lady seemed annoyed to have to help me. But she didn't help me...she actually came and checked out a different person that wasn't even in line that was still shopping! So three credit card transactions to buy her items and finally she turned to check us out. Then walked off. No joke and told another lady to come check us out. All this time I said nothing and just waited. The new lady that checked us out, was rude, and actually threw my credit card back at me. It was horrible. I would not recommend this place to anyone based on the service we received, or lack of it. read more

I've never had such a horrible experience walking into a children's store. I walked with my family and greeted the cashier and she didn't even acknowledge us, even after we said hello to her. When we said hello the second time she looked up and said hi as if we were bothering her! I will never buy anything from this establishment! read more

Got a jj cole bundle me for $16, 2 halo sleep sacks for around $5 each, baby sized mittens and onesies and socks. Can't wait to go back as he grows into the tops and gadgets. I've gone into this store twice and both times I've left disappointed. The store is tiny and overloaded with merchandise, so much so it is difficult to see what they have. The isles are tiny and over crowded with merchandise stacked on top of merchandise. It's a bit awkward if two people are in the same isle. Worse for me was the fact that both times I had to bring my son with me, and this is a place where you can't fit a stroller. You have to use a carrier or carry the child, and if you are looking for something and having to root through a bunch of stuff to look for something, holding on to a toddler at the same time just doesn't work. Add to that the prices aren't that great, you might as well buy new. I don't know who works there and have NEVER had anyone greet me or ask in anyway if they could help. The first time I was carrying a 3 month old and could not find anyone who could answer a question or help maneuver baby gear out so I could look at it. I would not recommend this store. I would instead go to Baby Chic in Tarrytown (very friendly and helpful) or Once Upon a Child. read more

I have been going to Affordables since before my babies were born and am still dropping off consignments now that my last child is in high school. This a great shop for parents interested in saving some money, and well worth the trip to Dobbs Ferry. They have a great selection of things for baby but also for children and teens. I've gotten leotards, snow boots, ice skates, toys and so many other things. We've sold games, books, telescopes, bikes and baby bjorns through them. You must make an appointment to bring things in for consignment and it must be for the correct season. Their appointment book is always full so you need to call a season ahead! Kodiak is right, there is a rack of maternity wear, but this is really a kids consignment shop. read more
