Such a neat concept! Tried to sell an item on consignment, but we never received a response to a web form inquiry. When I tried to call and follow up to gain more insight, their team seemed uninterested in helping. Really just needed some basic information on fee structure and timeline but no one really wanted to help. Multiple folks I talked with told me they don't work with consignment and to call at some different time to try to connect with the right person. Called another time and was told someone would get back with me. Never did. Maybe the shopping experience is better than the selling. read more

This used to be my 'go to" furniture store in Tucson. I have consigned there and purchased many things. But now that their consignment fee is 50 or 60% or more, I'm not consigning there any longer. They rarely will come down on a piece of furniture as well. read more

I'm giving "0" stars specifically in regards to the manager. We ordered a mattress and it was suppose to be delivered 1 week later and then brought to our home 2 days after it was delivered to the store. So, we paid for the mattress on Monday (12/28) and the mattress was to be delivered (Friday) 1/8/21. We called at 10:08am on 1/8 to verify what time the delivery is planned. The older woman told us that we will be getting a call "this morning" to notify us what time our delivery is scheduled. By 2pm, we had not received a call. We called at 2pm and the "manager" said that he was told 48hrs earlier (Wednesday) that our mattress would not arrive and he even said "I was supposed to call you"... he never did. He dropped the ball completely. He kept asking who we spoke with, as if it even matters, I told him we spoke with an older lady & told him I thought she was the owner, as he kept asking over & over again, who I spoke with. There doesn't seem to be a lot of ppl that work there, so I would think he could figure out the actual person I spoke to, since he was insistent on knowing who I spoke with. That alone rubbed me the wrong way, as it implied that I was lying. Who gives a sh$& who I spoke with. The fact that he knew our bed never arrived and he was told to call us three days ago to let us know & he never did, it falls on him. He has zero business being a manager, as he obviously can't manage himself out of a paper bag. He alone lost a sale of over $1,000. On a positive note, Greg (the associate that works there) is awesome and should be promoted to manager. read more

Service was hard to get he was busy only one person on staff to help. The manager is a real interesting person he rattled off his email address as fast as he could after finding I had pictures before of my couch. Their moving staff got the couch dirty and manager was mad at me saying the spots were my fault or they were already there when I bought it. Not true. The delivery men did it. They never paid me a dime for the mishap. And like I said the manager was a real work of art read more

We went in looking for a chair and ottoman. After spending 20 minutes walking around the store no one even so much as greeted us let alone offered assistance. When trying to access the back part of the store an employee was blocking the hall. I said "excuse me" and she didn't even say a word but moved slightly out of the way. We then saw a beat up table and chair set priced for $699 that we know for a fact was $475 at Ashley brand new. Poor service, awful prices and rude employees. This place is awesome! They are always improving on what they have on the floor. Some is consignment some is new and some items are from model homes. Great selection and always friendly. Artwork, lamps, Faux plants and all types of furniture. Even dishes. I'm always taking a little something home with me. At least 90% of the time. read more

Went in and saw a sofa we liked, they claimed it was a $2200 sofa on sale for $1500. We put it on layaway for $500 down. After we got home and looked online we found out it was a $1200 sofa that everyone else is selling for $900 online. Went back and told them we wanted our money back and they refused to give us a refund. Now we have to go file in Small Claims Court to get our money back from this VERY unethical fraud of a business!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE- THEY LIE AND STEAL FROM YOU!!!! read more

We just moved to this area and have been browsing all the nearby stores for furniture for our new place. We stopped in this past weekend just to see what they had. Furniture was definitely nice, but a lot of it seemed over-priced to me. After we looked around for a bit, a sales lady (I unfortunately did not get her name) approached us and asked "do you see anything you like?" To which I said "yes, lots!" And then she responded, somewhat jokingly, "well, do you see anything you can afford?" basically trying to let us know that she thinks we look broke, I guess? We are a young (and pretty young-looking) couple, which is maybe why she said that, but I am a lawyer and make good money, and honestly, we probably would have bought something, but that comment immediately sent us right out the door, empty-handed. We won't be back. I won't ever spend my money at a place where employees openly judge me based on my appearance. read more

A Place I Can Afford" I've seen ads for this place before and never ventured going to either of their places because I thought I would find something like Goodwill but with a better smell. Let me tell you, I was wrong. As my furniture escapade continued after finding a lovely dining set from Cost Plus World Market I knew I needed to find chairs to go along with this table. Because I am lazy, I always shop the Internet first and I found their website (www.homestylegalleries.com) which begged me to stop by. A lady showed me around the place, pointed out some chairs that weren't really my sense of style, but were nice nonetheless. I did find a dining set that reminisced what I saw at Sam Levitz for slightly more than the sale price. Then we went around the corner and she showed me four chairs with some character. They were French Provincial with a Southwest style. I thought "hmmm... umm. welll... yeah". The chairs had real leather seats and were an eye catcher that was previously in a model home. All four chairs for $342. I was hooked but didn't buy immediately. So the next day I went to DeWitt. Amazed by the glamor and prices, I was in a hurry to leave DeWitt and head straight back to Home Style because the chairs there looked almost as expensive as anything I would have found at DeWitt, but was like way cheap. You tell me one $900 chair versus four $80 chairs, who wins? Of course Home Style does! However it took my visit to DeWitt to appreciate the find at Home Styles. I am still trying to find something wrong with the chairs I bought from Home Style because they were super cheap. I would have given Home Styles 5 stars except for their no refund and no exchange policy. Not to mention their lay-way policy is a nightmare too. They have great gently used second hand stuff. And if you've bought something there you want to have replaced in your home, they will consign it for you if its worth anything (no particle board allowed, only real wood). Once sold they get 50% of the profit. This is another place I would most likely visit over and over again if I find that these chairs I bought last longer than 10 years:-) read more

Absolutely awful! I stopped in to show them a picture of our couch. Set up to have someone pick it up and when he showed the amount was low so I said no. He proceeded to charge me a fee! I will never use them again to consign furniture. I live on the northwest side very close to the Ina location. I talked with them about consigning and they gave me a price for each piece, which I felt was low, but acceptable. There was an $80 charge to pick up & I was given a list of the items and sales prices. They had changed the net proceeds to the seller to 45% (the store keeps 55%) which I understood. What I didn't expect was that they sold in less than 60 days for 25% less than the contract showed as a sales price, so a $1000 item netted me $349.50! To receive your check, you must call on the 15th of each month to see if anything sold and either drive to the Wilmot location, or expect a "2 week wait " for receipt of the check. I was scheduled a mattress delivery today between 4-7. It's 7 o'clock and no one ever showed up. I got no courtesy call or anything. I've retried contacting them 6 times today and have gotten no response- just straight to voicemail. Also, you can't leave a voicemail because their inbox is full. That's sketchy if you ask me. I've been at home all morning waiting for their call to schedule a delivery time and then I stayed home all afternoon/evening waiting and got not so much as a phone call. I have a hungry son and father I need to feed, and I needed to go grocery shopping tonight but that didn't get done because I've been waiting around. I'm extremely upset. This is so wildly unprofessional and i can guarantee I will NOT purchase from this store ever again. So not satisfied. 1/10, go somewhere else. read more

Liked many of the things in this store. Yet, I can't seem to give my money to folks who don't care. Did not get a hello when I came in, but did listen to the ladies talk about how to take photos on the new phone. As I walked to the back I could here the employees in the back swearing and making jokes that made me glad I did not have my kids with me. Never did get asked by anyone if I needed help with anything. As I left the ladies up front were now more interested if another employee got his bagel or not. read more

Usually I'm afraid of second hand stores because you never know if you are going to find someone's old homework in the item you're buying but this store does a good job filtering their merchandise and the prices are down to earth. You can literally walk away with a really cool White Stripes ice cream bowl set at the same time you're buying a sectional sofa for the family room. It's nice to have one stop shopping. read more

Love this place, always great customer service and awesome furniture finds. I look forward to never knowing what I might go home with. I highly recommend Omar as your salesman. He's very approachable, great conversationalist and will not follow you around store. He always helps carry out my purchases himself, which I think is a nice touch!! It's funny because I always thought Home Style Galleries was an Art Store. I live nearby and have visited Casas Adobes Shopping Plaza many times just never would've thought HG was a Furniture Store! I consigned a picture here in February. In April, I started asking about when this picture sold. I was told, "Our computers are down. We will check and see when it sold." The computers were down in May and June and most of July. On July 15 I took my contract into the store. They could not find out any information. The manager told me he would request that a check for half the consignment price be cut on Friday, July 17, and they would pay me the following week. I went in on July 31 to get my check. At first, he did not remember me. Then he started making excuses why the check was not cut. What kind of a business goes without a computer for at least 3 months? He said I was not the only consignor not getting paid. read more

I have bought two or three pieces of furniture from HomeStyle on Ina in the past couple of years . I would give them four stars for selection of furniture however am subtracting two stars for customer service based on my experience today: Two days ago I bought two items in a set of furniture. When I got home that day I realized I could use the third piece after all and called the store back the same day. The salesperson indicated she would hold it for me and, I understood, was going to label the item and take it off the floor. When I went in today however I learned that someone in management had allowed it to be sold to someone else. The excuse was that they could only "hold" pieces for 24 hours and that they didn't have a number to call me (it should have been on file from prior sales). In the end not a big deal perhaps, and the salesperson was very apologetic but the incident seemed sloppy and not very customer centered. Just one customer's experience. read more

I love Home Style Galleries. Since my mom has been renovating her house, we've both been spending a lot of time at both locations looking for just the right piece for whatever room we're working on at that time. Because the furniture comes from different places, there is a broad range of styles from which to choose. We've purchased a couch, several chairs and lamps, and a gorgeous Crate & Barrel dining table that originally sold for $1600 that we purchased for $425. It looked like it had never been used. The staff is knowledgeable and beyond helpful. The delivery drivers have always been happy to go the extra mile and set up the piece exactly where you want it. I recently purchased a pair of rather unusual danish modern chairs for $49 each and took them to be reupholstered. I had been searching for a few years for two chairs to fit a rather tight space and these were perfect. I can't wait to pick them up this week! read more

Welcome to the snake pit. I was instantly treated like garbage from the moment I walked in. I was desperate to buy a couch and put up with it, my mistake. I found a couch and started negotiating on a price with the owner of the store, John (I believe that's his name). We finally met at a reasonable price and told me to stop by the next day to pay for it and delivery as they were closing soon. They decided delivery of my couch was not going to happen due to "a much larger sale" according to Greg, the floor salesman. I asked when they could deliver it and I could not get a straight answer. I was told to speak with Matt, the receptionist. Matt has a very bad attitude problem and has no understanding for what customer service means. Nor does he know how to communicate. He's like talking to a brick. When I kept pushing for an answer he literally told me to "go f**k myself", "what are you going to do about it", and proceeded to hang up on me. I called them back and asked to speak to John. Matt said John did not want to talk to me and we don't want to do business with you. Home Style Galleries is a garbage place filled with garbage people. We're found several "just right" pieces at the HomeStyle on Ina Road. The south store is more funky with more of a flea market style. The inventory changes often, so it pays to check in every now and then. We've never had any experiences there like that the ones that are reflected in the negative reviews. read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Rude, unhelpful. They follow you around the store in case you plan on sneaking out with some overpriced worn-out couch, and have no sales skills/manners or social skills for that matter. Save some money and go to Lazyboy where prices are cheaper for new! They do have one or two nice pieces but that's about it. The place smells like a dusty old museum. read more

HOMESTYLE GALLERIES ON INA ROAD TUCSON I saw an ad on Craigslist last night 3/12/18 in Tucson for a Thomasville Sofa and Loveseat listing for $1200.00. I emailed the owner ( who was posting under owner and not business) and asked what time tomorrow would be appropriate to view these items. He gave me a time of 10 am and the address. I asked if this was a business. He came back with 2950 W. Ina Road. I went in this morning 3/23/18 and located the Sofa and Loveseat. It had a price tag of $2799.00. As I was inspecting it, one of the sales "men" came up and said " this is a great sofa and I have another person coming in that has offered me $1500.00". He said he was the one that had been emailing me. I stated I would give him $1000.00 for it right now. He said " I would like to give the other person the opportunity to come in as this is a consignment item and we only get half of the money" ( So we are talking about $100 vs. $250 if the other person shows up) On the way home, I stopped and emailed him that I would give him the full $1200 asking price and get my trailer to come pick it up. I got home and still no response. I asked another person to email an offer of $1200 as advertised with a pick up date of this afternoon 3/13/18. That person was emailed back immediately . . . the item has been sold. I still had not heard back from the company. I emailed them again. I got a call back from an associate (that I had purchased from previously) who stated "we just sold the Sofa and Loveseat for $3000.00 to an old couple that were here looking at the sofa next to you when you were here looking at the Sofa and Loveseat. They are snowbirds and they have deep pockets". Better Business Bureau stated this was not right and I could post a bad review of the store on their website. I decided to post on Facebook and Craigslist, and Yelp their website with this information in hopes that all will read this, crosspost it and spread the word to their friends. 1. This business posted as an owner and not a business on Craigslist 2. Craigslist is not an auction 3. I feel I was possibly lied to about there being another person with an offer of $1500.00. 4. I feel bad for that other person, if there was one. 5. This is as close as you can get to a BAIT AND SWITCH 6. It is a shame the older couple with deep pockets got shafted paying more than twice the amount for the Sofa and Loveseat than the asking price on Craigslist. And if you know of the couple that bought a Thomasville Sofa and Loveseat from the company below on Friday April 13, 2018, please let them know how they were treated. Well, this is a fun place to browse, for sure, but be cautious. It is a consignment store & they can be a little strange. You can certainly find some nice furniture, etc. at good prices, but when going to sell your furniture they are a little difficult to work with. For instance, they will take in excess of a month before you can call & ask for your check. And yes, you do have to call & request your check, they will not just automatically send it. Why so long? Have they figured out some way to make money on "the float" Alao, be advised that it is possible to negotiate your consignment ratio. It's worth a try. read more

I had previous buying experiences at Home Style Galleries that were pleasant but unremarkable. This most recent experience matches the negativity I see in other reviews. I bought a bedroom set from them and was promised next day delivery by the store manager although I assured him that wasn't necessary. So the next day my wife and I waited...and waited...and waited until we couldn't wait longer. We had plans for the evening and needed to know if they were delivering the furniture or not. Apparently the delivery crew was sent home for lack of work and the manager was also absent. I explained to the person on the other end that we had waited all day and were wondering what he plan is. She hung up and called the manager who returned to deliver our furniture. Again, I explained it could wait for another day if this was not good but he insisted to get it delivered today as he promised. It took another 90 mins before he got the help he needed to deliver our furniture and they were on the way. After delivery, they were loading up my old bedroom set and shoved some paper under my nose to sign (they said) as a receipt for my old set. I signed and they left promising to call me the next day to discuss the asking price for my furniture. NO PRICES were mentioned or discussed. No came from them and after a month I called to ask what happened. Turns out they already sold my old set for PEANUTS, of which I will get a check for ONE HALF of peanuts! I asked where they got the authorization to sell my furniture at a price not approved by me. Their response was that the figure was on the paperwork I signed (they didn't leave me a copy) and that was all the authorization they needed. I will get my check for my furniture ONLY if I call them after the 15th of the month AFTER the furniture sells. I asked them why I must call back and was given the stupidest response ever: BECAUSE THAT IS HOW WE ARE SET UP TO OPERATE! My guess is that they rely upon people forgetting to call to get what is theirs, then they use the excuse that folks never picked up their money so HSG gets to KEEP IT! These folks are not ethical, honest or forthcoming. If you plan to do business with them you had better expect them to cheat you so keep your eyes open. I failed to get a receipt from them before they left and that is my fault. However, I will not patronize their stores again. read more

They also broke the glass on a gallery painting and still haven't fixed it after FOUR MONTHS, and now can't locate it. They won't return calls, terrible customer service. read more

I had Home Style Gallery come and pick up furniture from our home. The driver was more than RUDE! First, I was told they would call the day prior to schedule pick up. That did not happen!!! I had to call them the day of at 4:00pm to see if they would be showing up. Received a call back at 5:00pm in which they gave me a 3 hour window. There goes our dinner plans..... Second, when I had called to schedule the services I was told by Ashley pick up charge was $50.00. When the driver arrived and had loaded the furniture I was then told $60.00. I made a call to the store, which I was told "THAT IS THE PRICE". Again, customer service HORRIBLE! Being very frustrated at this point I told the driver I was not happy. His exact words, "NO ONE CARES" I really just wanted to have them take my stuff of the truck, but we were moving back east and had no other options. I do not think this company understands you are the customer. They take 50% of the furniture value, so in my case they were making $900 from me. Not to mention paying $60.00 for pick up. You would do better off donating your belonging's to a charitable organization or putting them on Craigslist. No hassle and you would make more money. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! BEWARE they also price your items higher than what is in your contract, but you only get half of the money they put on your contract. read more

I'm not surprised to read these negative reviews, just wish I'd read them earlier. We wanted to consign a Natuzzi leather sofa. The driver gave us a price of $800. My husband went back in the store a week later and found our sofa not well displayed and it was only priced at $400. He tracked the manager down and the basic response was they can change the price any time they choose according to fine print and just decided it wasn't worth the $800 after all. We went back and picked our sofa up. Of course we were originally told the drivers that pick up the furniture are experts and usually price things well. We told the manager we should have been called and informed of the price change especially since they just received it. His only response was "we don't do that". He was extremely uninterested in customer service and that has now cost him another customer. I was looking for several different furniture pieces. Not only will I never set foot in there again, I plan to tell everyone I know. Wonder if that manager thinks now it was worth not making that courtesy call to us? read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! It is not that the wares are bad...it is that the owner and management are dishonest to their employees and customers. On my initial visit I sat on many different couches trying to decide which would work best. I worked with only one salesperson, a woman who was extremely helpful getting me measurements and showing me alternates. I left that day buying a room divider and measurements of the two couches in mind. I went back a couple of weeks later to purchase and my saleslady was not there, they had cut her hours back, however I purchased both sets of couches and made it ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY clear who the sale should go to. I was told it would be given to my saleslady. The dishonest manager John A. and his cohort Elizabeth took the sale away from my original saleslady and gave it to another salesman that did not help me in the slightest! So wrong! I found this out by phoning back to the store to make sure the sale was given to the proper person. My instincts told me John A. was shady. I was right, they had not done right by their employee. Not only did they rip me off, by not honoring the price of one of their couches posted on their website - John A. the manager and his delivery helper asked me for a tip and gas money on top of the ninety dollar delivery charge. I talked with the owner of the store, Catherine and she is just as sleazy as John the manager; it is family run and the sale is going to go to whomever the sleazy owner and sleazy manager favors.
