The owner…read moretreats allocated bourbon like museum pieces, slapping outrageous price tags on bottles--often charging ten times the MSRP. In many cases, the prices here exceed even what's seen on the secondary market. It's blatant price gouging, and it's insulting to loyal customers who just want a fair deal. I refuse to support a business that prioritizes greed over integrity. There are plenty of other stores that respect their customers and sell at reasonable prices--this isn't one of them.

The store is very clean, well stocked, and seems much larger from the inside. Randy will take special orders, and will make every attempt to stock them within a reasonable time. Prices are very competitive with larger liquor stores, and I'm happy to support a local business. They offer military discounts. 4/25/23: Been here several times, and customer service is great as usual. I spoke with Randy about getting some additional rum brands, and he said that he'd work on it. I truly enjoy visiting this liquor store. It's very conveniently located. 9/19/24: Stopped by to browse and a young man in a Saints jersey informed me that the store is under new ownership. It shows. The young man wasn't very friendly and seem more engaged with his phone than with the customers. The store looks cluttered, and there were stacks of boxes on the wall, behind the register area, which was not a very appealing look. The prices seemed higher than before, and if a small business intends to operate successfully, it needs to have good customer service and competitive prices. There are several other independent liquor stores on 78 nearby, and Specs is not that far away. The new owners instituted a rewards program and members get 10% off on Tuesdays. I didn't feel welcome, so I didn't ask if they still offered a military discount.

It's never packed so you are in and out in a hurry. I've compared prices to even the new Specs and they are about the same. I like the specials that this place has every week. You probably wouldn't expect such a mecca of craft beer in practically the middle of nowhere Rockwall, TX, but there they were, doing their thing. I was pretty excited to discover the location and super excited to know I could get lots of Dallas craft beers that are not so easy to find in Austin. I guess people in the middle of nowhere Texas aren't such big fans of craft beer. Why, y'all? There is so much more out there than Coors, Miller, and Bud. Either way, what's done is done and I'm going to go be sad about the state of the world and how come truly awesome businesses sometimes have to go out of business. Life isn't fair, I guess. If craft beer is your thing, and it totally should be, they are having awesome sales right now. I got four beer glasses, two four-packs of cider, and two large bottles of beer for less than $40. The sales are even better now, so go stock up on your favorites or, hell, get some new stuff to try because it's cheap.
