Home Goods is addicting. I can spend hours just cruising each aisle. I actually have to control myself; the deals are so good, I just dump whatever I see in the cart. If you have never been to a Home Goods, just imagine a Marshall's without the clothes, but just loads of furniture, dishes, glassware, garden items, gifts, etc. If you have never been to a Marshall's, what the hell is wrong with you? Get your ass to one right now so you can get sucked into the world of deals and beautiful stuff. I suggest the Natomas Marshall's; more quiet and less clutter. Lakecrest Marshall's is my second option; more turnover, but very busy. The staff here isn't the friendliest. I passed by a handful of them as I was shopping around when they first opened. They all did not greet me and all they were doing was arranging items on shelves. Even the cashiers had zero personality; they were just going through the motions. But you know what, who gives a shit. I'm here for the deals! I recently discovered a kid's section at Home Goods full of discounted toys, books and furniture. If you have the time and dedication to hunt, do it. You can find bargains here on plenty of name brands like Melissa and Doug wooden toys, OXO toddlers and Janod (from France) wooden toys for half the price or more. They also have very beautiful, unique furniture pieces. I asked about large furniture pieces like cabinets and tables. The worker said they can hold pieces for you up to 7 days. If you need more time, just let them know and they will hold it for you. read more

When I am shopping at Trader Joe's I'll pop in this store and snoop around!! It's a SUPER cool store. They have everything from kitchen stuff, home decor, pet stuff, to holiday stuff!! This place kinda reminds me of a Tuesday Morning store. They sell cool things at a discount! If you really like it....BUY it! Chances are that if you walk away and come back another time that it'll be SOLD and GONE!! I believe they buy close-out deals for resale. Every time I come in the store is beautiful and well stocked. Employees are SUPER nice. I seem to want more than I actually know where to put the pretty stuff I see!! Come check it out for yourself! Wow, where the heck have I been all these years?! I knew this place existed but never bothered to stop in and browse through. This store is comparable to Ross, Marshalls and TJMaxx - except they don't sell clothes and they're also 10x better. They have an array of items to choose from at fairly low prices! I love that the shelves are fully stocked with multiple selections to choose from for any item you're looking for! They have a huge selection to choose from in different areas such as kitchen, bathroom, bedding, outdoor, kids, bedroom, pet, etc. etc. etc.! I love this place as it has everything you may need to decorate your home. You can easily spend an hour here even if you're not even needing to buy anything. They have so much stuff that at times the shelves could look a bit clustered. There are many one piece decorative items which you can't find anywhere. Pricing is a little more than Ross but you will find what you need here. I love it that when you walk in there's always some unique item right in the front, like this mosaic mirror horse (please see picture). Also on the left when you walk in they have a huge sections of decorative vases, plates with different color themes. They also have furniture, one piece items but the pricing is a bit expensive. All night I have been tossing and turning about my experience here yesterday evening. Maybe cause I am not used to being followed around a store like a thief. I just moved to Elk Grove a couple of months ago after my wedding. Last night I went to this store to just relax. See what's on clearance and/or maybe consider using a gift card or two I received from my wedding. I didn't grab a cart cause I didnt expect to find anything. I wandered around the store looking for something nice that I could afford. I went to the back of the store looking for clearance and found some really cute super cheap things. My hands are getting full at this point so (I guess this is when things start to take a turn) I walk to the front of the store with everything in my hand, looking for a cart. I don't see one. I noticed another gentleman looking for one too. He walked outside to get one. So I turn around put my stuff down IN THE STORE and as I do, there is a gentleman standing by me looking like Loss Prevention. I realized I probably looked like I was about to run out the store, but proceeded to put my things down anyway. He is doing his job. Got a cart put my things in it and continued shopping. Next, Looking for full size sheets for a long time, THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NONE! Asked a employee if they were some where else, implying I needed help, she walks away rudely, like oh well ‍. Find a rug I like, then i think about how much all of this stuff is going to cost me. Take my purse off my back. It has been on my BACK the entire time and starting look for the other gift cards I will use. Another man walks by and DAMN NEAR LOOKS ALL THE WAY IN MY PURSE AS HE WALKS BY. I'm LIKE WHAT THE HELL BRO! I don't know if he is LP or not. Any way I start thinking I should just checkout now. These guys are making me uncomfortable, I can't even think straight. I pay for my stuff. Walk out the door. Then see a beautiful biiiig rug! And I am thinking how much is that. Is it defective? I might be able to do something with it. Tag said $0 so I walked back In the store to inquire about it. LP is in front the store with his lp shirt on pretending like he is doing something while just watching me. And I'm like damn dude I just paid, what else could I be doing right now. I don't know if I will ever be going back here again. I really like HomeGoods but feel like my experience here is my fault even though I didn't do anything wrong. I don't know if I looked like someone or something but I know I am not a thief so this treatment has me losing sleep for real. I could just be making all this up in my head but I think they were following me around the whole time. I don't know. I guess I am just writing this review for LP to see. HomeGoods is the TJ Maxx of all things home. You'll find an array of kitchen needs, bedding, bathroom, and home decor. You definitely have to look through a LOT, so if you don't have the patience, this might not be the place for you. I tend to come here with my husband when we want to see what's new or if we're looking for something for the house and we don't want to spend too much money. Most of the time we can't really find anything, but when there are times that we do, the prices are pretty fair. The store most of the time is hit or miss, so don't expect to always find what you want, but it's always fun to browse! :) read more

I'm not sure what to say about this store. It has lots of stuff. It reminds me of the back of Ross. Unorganized treasures as described by some. If you are looking for a kitchen gadget this is the place to go. They have tons of different one of a kind items. I found an olive oil sprayer once when I needed it. This isn't like bed bath and beyond where you go to the section for measuring spoons and you have 3 kinds to choose from and you grab one. Here you go to the kitchen section and you dig around and if you like something you buy it. Do not come with a list. This can be a great place to shop for gifts. My mom had fun using her gift card that she won. This gets a star Staff are nice. I stopped one of the staff and he went out of his way to ask his manager if they could help us figure out how much was on the gift card we just won. That was wonderful as the line was 10 people deep. Just moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area, and was sooooo excited to find this location is open during the shutdowns. I've been trying to find open stores to start decorating our new home, but hadn't had much luck. Was mostly interested in finding baby girl bedroom decor for my daughter's nursery, but unfortunately didn't find much. The children's section was a lot smaller than what I'm used to seeing at other locations. However, this location is very organized and stocked with tons of other really nice items. Bought 1 thing for my daughter, and ended up leaving with about 5 other items for the rest of our home. Overall, I enjoyed visiting. The staff was friendly, and the store was very clean. Just wish the children's area had more to offer. Would definitely visit again though. Especially being that it's so close to where we live. read more

Their current fall collection is full of variety! I got this cute shell office file and a super soft blanket. Their blanket section is awesome, just wish they had more duvet cover options. 4 stars instead of 5 because a frame I wanted was very broken and a very very small discount was given lol, so I didn't get it. I paid quite some items today around 12:38 and had a bad experience with a front desk young lady. I do not know her name because she is not wearing the her name tag. She has white skin color, black hoodie, dark hair and white bleached on the front. All I know is that she works in the Photography department. The issue was that I had found two photo frames of 4x6 on the clearance aisle. I kindly asked if a photo frame of 10.99 could be priced match to another one that had 7.99 price. The reason is that it was very similar and that the 10.99 had a crack on the front. I waited a while to hear her response, " Someone put a different tag on it and the item should have cost more." She offered another one which was 12.99. I was unhappy to hear from her that if I wanted the clearance frames they would cost me more. I told her its not my problem that someone put a wrong price. I found it as how it is on the clearance aisle. I end up buying the one that was 7.99, but she was still fighting. She then, said, "You could take it but I was bot able to return item." I do not know why The HomeGoods store has an employee alike her. No one should give you a higher price nor tell you that you can keep it with one condition and which is final sale. I really wanted to speak with a manager about this incident but was on a hurry. It is very disappointed to see employees with an attitude alike hers. She should have said, "I cannot do anything because that is the right price." Instead she gave me a hard time. read more

Be careful when the cashiers scan your items! One girl charged me TWICE for the same item when I only bought one. I can't go back and argue over a $4.99 item because I did not realize it until I got home and looked at the receipt!!! Lesson learned. Always check receipt or watch them carefully when at the checkout!!!!!! All I bought was a lamp and a squeeze ball toy for my son. The toy came in a pack of four little balls. I opened the pack and let him hold onto one ball and gave the opened package for the cashier to scan and apparently she scanned it twice ASSUMING he had an extra one with him. My first time actually coming in this store and I simply love it. Came with my friend today and I was not expecting to get this excited. They have so much to choose from. Some of the cutest little items for your home. They have a lot of stuff in this store. I like the fact that no matter how much stuff they have, I found the store to be pretty clean. They have some beautiful kitchen stuff, it makes me want to redo my whole kitchen. This place is amazing! The prices are great. Defiantly no complaints there. The store is pretty busy and truly I understand why. They have a lot of nice items here, great if someone is just starting out with their first place. A lot to decorate your home with. The store itself is fine - they could be better about putting abandoned carts away and make it less cluttered.(same for parking lot). The customer service and lines are sub-par. Whoever is managing this store should learn that speedy checkouts and not letting your employees chit chat and gossip about their personal lives is pretty key to good experience. It took forever to get through the line, once I did get up front I wasn't greeted or looked at, the 4 girls just talked to each other, moved slowly and getting distracted by one another. The only words muttered to me was my total, which could have gotten lost in their chatter amongst themselves. If you go to this location just be prepared to wait for a long time and be ignored by young cashiers with no care in the world. read more

I am getting addicted to this place. I sometimes venture in when I'm around the area, but now I am finding myself going out of my way to go see what new things they may have. I came here a few weeks ago looking for a ceramic mermaid that TJ Maxx had supposedly had, and since they are related wanted to see if they did. Didn't end up finding one, but I did walk out with some huge and awesome coffee mugs! They look like mugs you'd find on Etsy. So naturally once I realized that I really truly loved these mugs, I came back to buy more haha. I love their selection, and the variety. The prices are always very fair and the quality good. I love that they always seem to have the fish, fish bowls (if you're confused they're fish bowls in the shape of a fish, so cute!). I do wish that their "clearance" section wasn't just broken items though. I'm sorry, but even though it costs less I don't wan't a wooden giraffe that's missing an ear or coffee mug with no handle. An excellent place to shop for home decor and kitchen accessories. Think Ross or TJMaxx but everything inside is for your home. They carry several brand name kitchen gadgets and accessories at discounted prices...OXO salad spinners, Kitchenaid cookware, Cuisinart accessories. If you're not looking for anything specific you can easily lose track of time as there are so many things to look at. They also have decorative pillows that are stuffed w/ down, plenty of bathroom accessories, tons of wall art, and a good assortment of lamps and mirrors. You'll also find some furniture pieces but if you find something you like, you better grab it quick! The aisles carrying frames have paper tape measures hanging on the sides so you can confirm the fit for your home. I felt like such a dork when I noticed this because I was walking around w/ my own bulky tape measure. I didn't give them all 5 stars because there always seems to be a line at the register. I even come early in the mornings during the week only to find myself waiting in a crowd. I think they should hire more people. read more

Random boxes of cookies, bags of coffee and tins of tea. Nope, I don't need any of that. I do need that black truffle salt though..... Great selection of cookware, dining ware, glassware, flatware, etc. I love the selection of Le Creuset items. Sure, it's all "factory" stuff, but who cares! Love it! I visited the Elk Grove HomeGoods and the Stockton HomeGoods stores on back-to-back days, which greatly influenced my review of the Elk Grove store. A quick survey after walking into the Elk Grove store... the store is a cluttered mess. The store doesn't feel very clean, there is merchandise sitting in the aisles that should be hanging up or on a shelf, and staff seem frazzled. I went into HomeGoods to look for a couple of specific things: A cookbook which I'd seen there before and kitchen hand towels. Here is what I experienced... I searched the store where I had seen the cookbooks at my last visit but they were no where to be found. No biggie, I know their turnover of merchandise is quick so I figured they'd been moved. I looked for a sales associate to ask, but there was no one on the sales floor that I could see and the cashiers were busy checking people out. I did another sweep through the store but never did see any cookbooks. Bummer. As for the kitchen towels... the aisle was a mess! The aisle contained kitchen hand towels, pot holders, microfiber cloths... half of them were off their hooks sitting at the bottom of the display, the other half were hanging in no particular order, they seemed to just be thrown up onto their hooks. In comparison, when I visited the Stockton store the very next day, their towels were grouped by color, where well organized, neat and tidy. What a huge difference! This HomeGoods is lacking in a lot of things: Cleanliness, organization and staff. Not ideal shopping conditions. read more

HomeGoods reminds me of a nicer version of Ross stores, just without clothing. It's all home goods (go fig!) at discounted prices. The stock is assorted, by which I mean there's no regular stock of the items- so if you find an item you like, it may be the only one they have. They sell home accents, furniture, lighting, kitchenware, barware and assorted decor. It's definitely cleaner and a slightly nicer atmosphere than other aforementioned discount department stores, but even HomeGoods is not immune to a clearance section and certain aisles in complete disarray. Would it be considered ironic that their storage/organization section is one of most cluttered areas I saw in the store? Haha But HomeGoods does have some very cool items for sale. I love large coffee mugs and I found a super awesome HUGE mug that I use at work for coffee, oatmeal, soup, just about anything. I get compliments on it all the time. Plus HomeGood's seasonal holiday items are to die for... it's my current favorite store to shop for Halloween decorations. read more

People's opinions are so unique and different so it's hard to base this store off some of the reviews. I am giving it four stars because I truly enjoy taking my time shopping for home stuff and I feel Homegoods has a lot of random items to browse for. I don't own a home - not yet anyway but hopefully soon! I'm in the process of house hunting and I love coming to places like Homegoods so I can get an idea of what my house needs and how I should decorate. I am a sucker for cooking utensils, pots and pans and cutting boards! Homegoods has it all and some more! They have pretty looking cups, sheets, containers, specialty food/bake items, and stuff for your pets, candles, picture frames, kids' stuff, bath towels and random furniture. I love coming here during the holidays because I can find some really nice holiday decorations for really cheap! The store is not that well organized. It's organized in the sense where all the containers are on one aisle and all the cups are on another but everything is pretty much just tossed on top of one another. You have to be real patience when you come here. Luckily I like to dig so I don't mind carefully going through items that spark my interest. I do agree with some of the other reviews that this place is a hit or miss. I was here a few months ago and came across an array of cutting boards. I didn't need a new board at the time. Fast forward many months and preparing meals almost on the daily, the time has come to replace my cutting boards. I was at Homegoods a few days ago and there were barely any boards to choose from! Can you imagine my frustration?! Anyway, I wasn't too mad because I walked out with some really cute holiday pasta shells for my famous mac and cheese I'll be making for xmas dinner! Score! This is one of my favorite stores! It's always clean, staff are always helpful and friendly. I like the new layout for the check out line so there's no confusion on where to get in line anymore. There's always a good selection of home decor and accessories. I like the selection of decorative pillows and soaps as they're unique and reasonably priced. The pet section has lots of things for your furry kids. There's always a big selection of pet beds and equipment (poop bags, leashes, etc.) for good prices. The one thing I've found here and no where else are the stand alone pet gates. They're tall enough where larger dogs can't step over; they're heavy enough so they can't be easily be bumped and knocked over; and they're decorative enough so they don't look like a pet gate. I'm a frequent shopper of World Market and Trader Joe's, so occasionally I'll make a stop and browse in HomeGoods. I have to say that this store isn't bad! They have quite a big selection of home furniture and decorations at an affordable price. My mom and I will come in here (especially around Christmas and the holidays) to see what they have to offer. The Christmas decorations that we've seen have been quite unique and even some of them are funny - which makes the shopping trip more enjoyable. We've bought a Christmas wreath from here as well as a cute snowman to put in our house. I like HomeGoods because everything they have is fairly cheap and it's a good store for those people who don't have a huge chunk of change to spend on expensive decorations. The quality of their decorations is decent and will make anyone's home cozy for the holidays. They have a good selection of dishes too! I LOVE to look at dishes! I have to say that the prices are great and the dishes look like they will hold up after prolonged use. HomeGoods is a great store if you're looking for things for your home that you can find all in one place (furniture, decorations, toys, dishes, etc.). Hello, I'm new to the area and found this store back in Feb. Go here at least 5 times a month to check out what's new. I have to say this store is always so messy. You can not even get through the isles. This store has random beautiful items that could truly finish a room but it is quite frustrating getting through the mess. BEST HOMES GOODS STORE EVER! Okay so this is like the Kmart of home furnishing and department stores BUT it's really awesome. There is so much stuff to go through that every time i walk in I walk out having bought something. This is one really well organized. It's not messy and grotesque as some other Home Goods stores I've seen. I mean it's a little big cluttered on the shelves in the kitchen department but it's not like a toddler came in running through throwing things everywhere. I love how this store has really great stuff for cheap. I definitely recommend if you just bought a new place or you are going to a house warming and you need to bring something. Had a wonderful experience today. I had to get gifts for birthdays. I found everything l wanted without having to go store to store! I even found things for myself! But the best thing was checking out! The clerk Branden was so wonderful & cordial. I asked him to please keep my items packed lightly, as l have back issues. I admit it. I am addicted. Home Goods stores are the champions of hi quality clearance -meeting- lo consumer capital. In other words, super great pricing on the ever changing clearance selections through out the store. I find i almost never leave the store sans a purchase and because of the severe reductions, no regrets. This may be because the original pricing in these stores is straight on reasonable to begin with. Recently having purchased a new home, i fpund myself here quite a bitand have found many an item that i could not live without. Happy camper here. read more
