AdJ: Adorable Apparel with Variable Value and Various Variety Babies and kids clothes can get pretty expensive. This Carter store is a long-time establishment in Elk Grove. When my kids were littler, I used to come here a lot. Now that the younger one has finally outgrown the largest size they carry here, I come here for gifts for baby showers. They always carry lots of different sizes from babies through toddlers to big kids, but especially items for babies and tots phases. Carter's clothes are all so cute, the patterns vary and the colors are all very brilliant and vivid no matter the print. From polka dots, to floral prints, to little trains and tracks, to spaceships, to dinosaurs and monsters, if you can think it up, Carter's got in as a print on their adorable apparel. The quality of fabric they use here is good too, mostly cotton b/c that's best for our skin, so especially for little ones' skin, I like to choose cotton. Some items are cotton/poly blends and that's ok for older kids I feel, like active and play wear. Their clothes w/blend fabrics help wick away sweaty wetness and definitely won't wear out as quickly or look as washed compared to cotton. But generally, I get cotton only for babies. They even have socks and little shoes here although the selection for shoes is limited, and that's ok, since they're not a dedicated shoe store. Their retail prices could be kind of high, so I don't choose the full-price items, but they put many items on sale and there's even clearance items for seasonal clothes that are being moved out of the store, so you can find good value there. As for service, I feel they let you browse at your leisure, but if you have questions, there's always someone there to answer, you just have to ask. Overall, I'm very glad that Carter's still in Elk Grove and right next to the Target and Michael's on Laguna so there's a convenient location too. One of my favorite places to shop for baby clothing. I am so glad it's in the laguna plaza next to target, Michael's, Ulta, Bath & Body Works, and so much more. There's plenty of parking. This location is neat and has a great selection of baby clothes. Items are affordable and soft. You can't go wrong with the clothing styles they have. They have a good selection in the clearance racks as well. The workers are nice and greet you at the door. read more

Just left the store won't be coming back, the one and only staff there was so awkward. No greeting, no smile- might wanna check on your employees cause whatever her issue was I won't be coming back. When I left she greeted an incoming person, picking and choosing who you want to greet is unprofessional. read more

Carter's in Laguna Cross Road Shipping Center is one of the best places to shop for kids or babies clothes and shoes. The store is near to Target. Very easy access with lots of parking available in front of the store. The storefront is bright and beautiful. The lady in there gave me a nice greeting when I walked in the front door and offered help. Good customer service. The price is reasonable even compared to Target next to them or Ross in the same shopping center. But Carter's has more choices. read more

Ordered for online pick up. The sandals turned out being dirty on top and bottom!! Look like it's definitely been used. We had drove off and had to turn back. Came inside and let them know and they just said ok do you want to return it? No sorry, no my bad for wasting our time. We asked if there's another pair they said there's not. Then ended up cleaning it and saying oh it was dirty from someone wearing it inside the store and asked if we still want it!! They were definitely really rude for customer service at a children's place. Definitely will not be buying anything from here, returning or recommending this place!! read more

Staff is always pleasant at this location. But today, the employee wearing a red hooded sweater tried to say new shorts I was returning were worn, and used! Fortunately, the employee ringing me up was nice and did the exchange for me. I just needed a size smaller. I had just bought them two days prior. I've recently just had a baby girl who was born at 5lbs 3oz (tiny little love). No one plans to have their baby 3 weeks early therefore I didn't have any clothes to fit her. The newborn clothes I had were wayyyyy to big for her. I went to a few other store but none of them had premie items. When I came into Carters I was greeted right away. I started shopping and my surprise they had a great section of premie items!! Now not every outfit came in premie but I was able to leave with 10 adorable little outfits. When checking out I was asked if I found everything and if I wanted to sign up for their credit card. Besides having great staff the store was neat and organized. Now that my baby girl fits into newborn sizes I find myself coming to Carters because I had such a great experience the first time. I will surly be back again! read more

So upsetting! Went in to shop at carter's a couple days ago, to find out they discontinued their coupons and you now have to spend "$150" to go ONE $10 reward. Never would I have imagined that shopping for baby gifts would be a continuous occurrence in my recent life! Besides relatives, my place of employment currently has 6 coworkers who are pregnant, while two others just had their babies! The joke around work is, that there must be something in the water! We had a baby shower for two of the "pregantees" in which they were either registered at Target or Buy Buy Baby. Fortunately, in Elk Grove, these stores are located in the same convenient shopping center. I printed up the registries and off to shopping I went! Just as I was about to go to the first store, I noticed Carter's Babies & Kids next door to Buy Buy Baby. The 50% off sale was the first thing that caught my eye and drew me in! After all, registries can be so boring and expected! When I entered the store with Joe K, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff. I really wasn't planning to buy baby clothes, but thought it was at least worth taking a look at what was out there. To my surprise, the children's clothing were so cute and stylish, that we ended up taking more time than expected as we searched through the numerous outfits. Deciding on what to purchase became almost a difficult dilemma on what to choose. I noticed that the regular prices on most of the clothes were definitely not cheap, but I couldn't pass up those great sale prices! I just loved going through all the baby stuff and so did Joe! I'd really like to give a higher rating, but there are countless times where the system/store input was wrong. For instance, I wanted to go in to pickup my order. Yelp says it's opened at 10. I have been a regular customer for few years and the past year the service has changed. I have never been approached by any of the employees on staff and really only talked to when I check out. Usually the store is clean but the past couple times I have gone here there have been clothes all over the floor and the tables were a mess and this was early in the morning when I would go. This is one of my new favorite places!!! Such great prices, lots of cute options both for boys and girls. A very organized store and easy to find sizes. The staff are also very friendly and they are very helpful in answering your questions. The great bonus to this store is that they have a bathroom so pregnant moms who have to use the restroom can easily go then continue to shop. The bathroom is very clean me tidy!!! Such cute tiny clothes!!! Ranging from premies to older toddlers, they have clothes for all. Conveniently located in the Target plaza. Plenty of parking. Table with big-o legos for kids to play while the adults shop. My first time at Carter's was a week ago when my cousin-in-law was in town and wanted to do some shopping for her baby. Within a week, I've been to a Carter's 4 times, 3 at this particular one. The employees are nice and helpful. Love the discount and specials they have! They have an e-mail subscription that you can join to get deals announcements. Currently, for every $50 spent, you get $10 store credit that becomes valid the following day. AND there's 20% online coupon that you can obtain on Carter's Yelp mobile page (which you can't combine with the store credit that you get, but the employees are more than happy to assist with that). This is a decent Carter's. It always seems everyone else is shopping for the same size as me though--6 or 7 in boys. There always seems to be a ton of every other size but never enough of those. But I do find some good clearance buys here at the end of season. i just have to be patient on the sizes. It's nice that they give you a coupon pretty much every time you buy something too. read more

This location has a decent selection but it's very crowded and difficult to push a small umbrella stroller through the "aisles." The customer service my husband and I had tonight was incredibly bad. We ended up getting similar items of the same quality next door at Target for cheaper. read more

I absolutely love this location. I love the prices and the fact that there is ALWAYS a coupon you can use (excluding clearance) but who cares it's already a great price. The staff is super friendly especially Esmeralda. My only issue is that they run out of my sons size fairly quickly (12-18 months) It's frustrating sometimes when he picks out a shirt he really loves only to find out they don't have it in his size. I have to say something about this store in particular I have done my regular shopping for my son since before he was born and every time I go in craters in Elk Grove I never had a great service. The employees are never helpful I think they pick and chose who they want to help plus to add every time I see an item I like online they never have it at the store. I always ask them do you have this in a size it's always no I have to order my clothes online or go to another carters. But the reason I am writing this review I wish I got her name but I will never forget the service I asked if she was open so I can check out she said no the other lady can help you I said no worries went to the other line waited patiently then the people behind my wife and I were called up by the lady who said she's not open took the people who just got there in line and we were waiting next in line. I was fed up I had it I was going to get her name and talk to corporate about this incident but I decided to post it on Yelp I left saying I will never shop at the store again.
