Although we had purchased insurance for the sofas, we were told that material failure was not included under the policy. Berks then suggested that we falsely claim the damage was caused by our pet. This means Berks knowingly sold discontinued merchandise, refused to stand behind the products they sell, and even encouraged us to be dishonest.

My husband and I have been to Hackettstown Trading Post numerous times looking for couches and new appliances. First of all, everything is WAY overpriced. When they have sale or clearance items they mark up the original price to outrageous amounts so that the "sale" price ends up being the original price. Example: a couch marked as 70% off showed an original price of $5,000 with a "sale" price of $1,500. This was for a basic plain love-seat. Now, unless the upholstery is hand stitched by Swedish virgins, there is no way a simple love-seat should start at $5,000. It's a scam. The staff is generally not helpful. While browsing the store, we saw around 10 staff members, only 2 of which acknowledged us, only one offering any assistance. The store currently has large signs in the windows and throughout the store indicating that they are going out of business and everything must go. Signs say that all items are 30% - 70% off, but, as stated previously, that seams to be a ploy to get people to stop in. Unless a 8" tall plain white lamp is really worth $180, then the sale price of $60.00 really is a sale. Overall response- Stay away. Save your money for someplace that won't try to gouge you with fake sales.

When Ricky saw that we were in a predicament (we did not have ratchet straps or rope) he offered to drop the mattress off at our house after the store closed at 8pm. They spot painted it when the did come back and left and it looks like trash. They wanted to just floor paint over the mold in the shed and said that will fix it. I got to the point That I asked for the paint and floor paint and it took them a bit to get back to me but when They finally did they said they will give me the paint( so I can paint it over the summer) but still have not given it to me. I'm sure many people have had a positive experience but mine is straight trash. I get here around 4pm on Thursday evening. I walk in and I was in awe of how big and filled with home decor varieties there were. It's not excellent quality items but nice items to decorate your home. But for lower quality items the prices were a bit high. For example a Wicker chair which isn't really Wicker material was priced at 119.99 but they were selling it at 149.99 . Strange. I walked around the entire store , it's a warehouse style store. It's a new store so everything is nice and organized. The store looks clean. The varieties of items is nice to see. They also have cute toys for children. They do have a big wall of candy too. It's literally all home decor and some Pet items. Some shelves were still a bit empty in the front which should be the opposite, empty shelves in the back so it doesn't look so empty but they have signs saying more to come. No bathroom that I saw. But does have price checkers which is nice. The employees are not friendly at all. No hellos or ask if they could help with finding anything. So this store is on the same strip as Marshalls,Burlington and Walmart. The registers are very different set up. You go through the checkout line but you have to just walk up to a register they don't call you down or anything. Also if you look at the registers it looks like the area where the employees should be so I got a bit thrown off. I politely asked Nicole who seemed to be a manager if i should wait to be called to a register. She didn't greet me, no customer service skills at all, very stern told me to just go to a register. I felt as if she should have just ended her statement with stupid. So I said thank you and walked over to the register. Gabby very quiet but very polite young lady took care of me. She even asked me if it was my first time. Since i said yes she offered the rewards card. Now that was perfect! So honestly this store shouldn't be your 1st choice to buy home goods you could probably find a better deal elsewhere but don't disregard it. Let it be in your top 5 places when looking for home decor.
