We recently moved and this store is local to us. PC Richard's is a name everyone knows. I will say they have some of the better prices around however, their sales team needs a class in customer service, at least at this store. Since moving in we've had to buy a couple of major appliances. It's already stressful having to move and schedule delivery and what not. The sales team at this store as a whole just like I said needs a class in customer service. You call there and you're not met with anyone friendly it seems unless it's the girl who calls to schedule the delivery. They pick up and don't say who they are which is strange to me. I've worked customer service jobs and we've been trained to say Hi, this is (insert name). Unappealing that the sales team doesn't do this. Also, I've caught some of them lying about other sales associates not being there when they are. There are only two sales associates I would consider giving business too, Paula and Dave as they were nice and considerate when we spoke with them. Curtis the manager was okay as well and wanted to make things right. The first one we brought was a dishwasher and our sales lady Paula was great and very helpful. However, installation of it was a nightmare. The first installers who came, came before the dishwasher was even delivered and then took the kit that I paid for back with them. The second installer who came was okay but said they couldn't do it because our dishwasher wasn't next to the sink. It was but not side by side with the sink making a more difficult job. The third installer who came was a straight shooter told me it was more difficult but could be done and the second installer just didn't want to do it. I do speak to the store manager more than once regarding this and they did make things better by offering a rebate and buying a longer hose I would need. Our next appliance was a stove. Nothing too bad with that came and was installed no hassle. However, the hood we also brought was on back order and would be delivered at a different time. That came the other day and the third installer who did my dishwasher came and did the hood which I was grateful for. When I had to call and schedule the delivery of my hood to my stove the person who answered the call sounded annoyed they had to do something and then just hung up on me after scheduling my delivery. read more

Their customer focus sells us on shopping here ... the staff, have worked with Paula and Tom, cares that we get the best product for our situation. When purchasing at PC Richards have always have a positive experience. The issue comes when something goes wrong. I've been a loyal PC Richards card carrying customer since 2005. My first appliance had fromthem for 16 years. Purchased a Samsung refrigerator in 2021. Have had them out 7-8 times so far for service. From ice maker breaking to damaged door replaced to now going on a week with a broken 62* freezer which is driving temp up in upper fridge. Ive lost HUNDREDS of dollars of groceries which in this economy is especially brutal. PC richards service came out 4 days later and fixed the issue by defrosting the ice maker. Only few hours later temp kept rising. Came back today (2 days later) and basically said has never seen something like this before. Fan is blowing and all is running just not cold enough. Doesnt think its compressor but decided to order one. Advised me to contact store to exchange feidge as too new for this to happen. Also said my be freon leak. Called customer service and spoke to manager ELLEN who told me they could not do exchange as parts were ordered. Suggested I purchase a "small fridge" and put in my DINING ROOM as she has. Advised that tge appliances today are not like when we were "coming up". Also told me I was lucky the appliance had made it successfully through the 1 year manufacturers warranty! (Which it hadnt). I told her I would be more careful in the future about WHERE I spent my money and how much I spent on appliances (this refrigerator was quite pricey). To which Ellen replied she suggested in the future I did my research when purchasing. I advised her that I thought I had. SHAME ON YOU PC RICHARD's. Your tech's are telling customers they have a lemon and to seek an exchange yet your customer service agents are belittling our experiences. Really, you like making your customers happy? How is that by making them wait 3 weeks for a part that isn't even the issue or is it by not honoring your service agreements? This has caused my family to be without a properly working fridge for 3 weeks now. Our service agreement that we paid $250 for clearly states "An Inoperable Product Replacement Agreement provides the holder an "over the counter exchange" Free of charge. No where in the service agreement does it state we have to wait 3 weeks for parts and then after the part replacent proves it's inoperable we have to wait for another service call. I want it publicly known PC Richard has gone against their own service agreements they have sold. We have been told now they want to do 3 service calls before replacing the fridge. No where in the paid service agreement my family purchased six months ago does it state that. We have received less than a willingness to honor the contract over the last 3 weeks and now we wait as there is a disconnect from the service division and the direct communication from the Assistant Store Manager stating he would get us a new fridge. Why is it so difficult to understand my family has been without a properly working fridge for over 3 weeks now. We have lost over $600 of food between the fridge and freezer and we are living out of borrowed space in friend's refrigerators. How is this acceptable when we paid for a service agreement to replace the refrigerator out right not wait a period of 3 service calls and then a manufacturer review to even have a chance of the refrigerator replaced. The lack of ethics in honoring their service agreements is appalling. I suggest you amend the language in your service agreement to reflect what my family has been being told. The language is incongruent. We have been patient as we live eating out and borrowing friend's refrigerators but it apparent their is a grave misunderstanding of our living situation and the agreement we purchased. The world should know now how your service agreements truly work vs how they are sold. We supported a local business with our purchase and it has proven to be a very stressful situation for my family. We will never again purchase from PC Richard because they do not stand by their service agreements they sell. It's unethical to change the meaning of our contract that we purchased with specific guarantees. I highly suggest you amend your service agreement a going forward to reflect your current way of service so customers clearly know what they are purchasing if they should have an issue. The service is anything but asap when you are dealing with an appliance like a refrigerator. It is my hope PC Richard can see how they cause stress vs happiness in their customer. I can't imagine the CEO of PC Richard standing for this situation for his own family so why would they ask that of my family? *Update* 3/24/23..the service division called to say they don't have the compressed part after scheduling a service call for this morning. They have rescheduled now for Wednesday. How is it they had the part yesterday when they forced another appointment upon us to meet their 3 service calls before maybe a manufacturer review for replacement. So now to be very clear we have a leaking refrigerator that can't hold temperature since the last service call. We have a completely inoperable refrigerator that can't even be plugged in because it just leaks water. How does the CEO feel this is acceptable customer service to have customers living like this why this adhere to dishonoring our service agreement. We just ask for the service agreement that we paid for to be honored and replace the refrigerator. Then, I would strongly suggested we wording your service agreements going forward to reflect the current standard of service you are offering so it is transparent to customers what they will receive if they have an issue. The Better Business Bureau has been contacted and a complaint filed because something has to wake you up to to the truth of what you are putting customers through asking them to bare. read more

I purchased an LG Air Conditioner from this store on 6/21. The salesman Tom, was very helpful and I am very happy with the unit itself, however I wanted others to be aware of some less than straightforward practices regarding installation services and charges. PC Richard will charge upfront and separately for both installation services and removal/disposal of an AC unit. I paid for both. ($209 + $49.97). When the installer came for an initial survey, I was told I would need to pay an additional $120 for installation because he had to cut the wall opening to fit the larger unit, but he would reimburse me the $50 charged for the removal of the old unit, so I was out an additional $70. I agreed. When the unit was finally installed, I was informed that there was no need to cut the wall further, and in fact, there was some extra space that needed to be sealed with caulk. (This was the same crew, by the way). I was still charged the extra fee and the driver wanted me to either pay in cash or check- payable to CASH. When I questioned this, he said I could call the store and could put a memo on the check stating "AC installation". I later called the store and spoke to the manager, Rich. Rich confirmed that this was acceptable, however he questioned the charge because the wall had not needed to be cut. He was going to get back to me after speaking to the installer, but never did. I left that experience with a bad feeling about the installation transaction and lack of follow-up on the part of the manager and wanted other consumers to be aware and prepared for what appear to be questionable business practices. read more

We bought an LG refrigerator 3 1/2 years ago and purchased their extended warranty which promised "Repair or Replace". After waiting four days for a technician to show up we're told that it's the compressor and they will get back to us sometime next week with a repair estimated time. Normally it would not be a problem to wait 10 days, ( yes it's a problem), but we have a baby in the house and refrigeration is not a luxury, it's a necessity. We contacted the store, and explained the situation to see if they can do anything. They promptly informed us to pay and purchase another fridge and return it when the repair is completed. Here is the catch. we would have to carry the fridge ourselves from the store and carry it back. REALLY! So much for your Buy Local commercials. read more

We bought a new dishwasher about 2 weeks ago and we where told it wouldn't be in for 4 to 8 months. The sales man was nice and very helpful. Luckily it came in much earlier. Today they came to install it. The installer (Pablo) was amazing. He was extremely polite and friendly. He definitely knew what he was doing. He ran into a few issue during the installation but figured out how to fix the problems and was in and out of our house within about 45 minutes to and hour. read more

Our salesperson was off this day and James took care of us like we were his customer. Quite the team player. H answered our questions, researched what need to be researched and returned our call promptly and with all our answers. Our delivery went well even though Jake, the delivery guy, was by himself as his helper hurt his back. He did all the work by himself, refusing to allow me to assist him. I purchased a washer and dryer from PC Richards with a 5 year "protection plan" . After slightly more that 2 years the washer has become a nightmare. It imbalances excessively(every load) and must be manually rearranged over and over as it will not spin and turns itself off. The plan I purchased guarantees a replacement if the machine can not be fixed. Over and over PC Richards has sent technicians for repair. The process has been going on for months with long waits between. The machine is NOT fixed. It is a disaster and PC Richards has refused replacement. This store and company has smooth talk when purchasing, but they certainly do not walk the walk when there is a problem. Today I purchased a new washer from another store. What a complete and total .......and costly waste of time. 1) buy a refrigerator. Compressor sounds like it is going to walk right out of the unit whenever it starts or stops. Service is a complete cluster f and won't schedule or show up even after buying the extended warranty. 2) even after that exercise in stupidity, I went to buy a dishwasher. The clowns that show up can barely speak English, and the one who can says even though I paid for installation, I have to give him another 250 to do the under the sink hook up because he says the code says I need a valve under the sink. Okay.... I'm in construction and I pretty much know various codes and how they apply in NJ. First there is already an isolation valve less the 2 feet away from where the dishwasher was to be installed, which was replacing the current dishwasher in its identical configuration. and if the installer was going to quote code to me, he should have had a plumber's license. So I refused delivery an told them to void the purchase. They never voided it on the store issued credit card., 3 months later I get the Synchrony bank on the phone, clear it up and close the store account. Bottom line, I wouldn't purchase so much as a disposable air filter from these clowns. read more

Originally received a dishwasher that was defective and was very upset, due to Paula going out of her way and working tirelessly to make sure I was satisfied, was more than I can ask for. Happy to report that my replacement refrigerator was installed today. After I wrote a negative review here on Yelp and also on Better Business Bureau, the folks at PC Richards became much more cooperative and agreed to credit me the amount on my 10 year warranty. We chose another Samsung. The only problem is the 10 year warranty no longer exists for the new Fridge, so now I have the 1 year Samsung manufacturers warranty. If I wanted to go through this again I would buy another warranty, but I really don't. In all the 6 weeks I was without a Fridge, and the times i called to speak to a supervisor, no supervisor ever picked up or called me back. I think that is a flaw in their system that should be changed. I did finally get approval on my new fridge, and there are good people working there, so I am happy with that now. read more

From the instant that I asked him for help, he was just that, extremely helpful, as well as knowledgeable and not pushy whatsoever. He had intelligent answers and was engaged. At first they said they couldn't match amazon but they figured out something with current promotions and got me very very close to online prices without the hassles of waiting for shipping and possible damage in transit. If I could give this P.C. Richard & Son zero stars I would. I'm severely disappointed in their customer service practices and product quality. Their mission statement clearly states "honesty, integrity, and reliability". I find that none of these things are applicable. My grandfather, before he passed away, was an extremely loyal customer. He had nothing but great things to say about this company. As a result my father became a loyal customer as well. This generational trend will not continue. I don't know what changed, but PC Richard & Son is not the company it once was! My dad bought a dishwasher here, and within the time frame of warranty it became defunct. So, as anyone would do with a valid warranty, he contacted the store for help. Technicians were sent out on multiple occasions to determine what the issue was. They sent out for parts, and installed parts, with no change or improvement to the function of the machine. I was disgusted when I realized the dishes that were placed in this machine, that my parents were eating off of, came out with soapy residue and large food particles still visible. I washed all of their dishes by hand because clearly their dishes were not clean. Again my dad called to get the problem solved. The technician who came out more than a week later, tried to convince my dad that the machine was functional, which it clearly was not. My dad had to explain to the technician what the malfunction was. They again sent out for parts. This has been going on for over six months, and still my parents do not have a functional dishwasher. This is unacceptable. It is PC Richards store policy that the product cannot be repaired it will be replaced. This also has not happened. They just keep sending techs out and calling for parts. Now, whenever my dad calls to have this problem addressed, they refuse to call him back directly and instead for whatever reason, call my mothers phone, which they have been specifically asked not to do. They have also contacted my younger brother, who bought a TV there, via email in regards to this issue, which makes absolutely no sense what so ever. P.C. Richard & Son has lost an entire family of customers, and we will make sure to tell friends considering this store about our awful experience. read more

I recently went into P.C. RICHARD & Son to compare prices on TVs for the Video game party center in Randolph New Jersey. The salesperson John H went above and beyond to inform me of all the options. I honestly was looking to get the best deal possible and when he said the store would beat any advertised sale he got my attention. Just got home from PC Richard & Son; my dad and I stopped in last week just to price out refrigerators as ours is on it's last legs. After speaking with sales rep Anthony we felt confident in his knowledge that the model he recommended was the right one for us. We came back tonight with the rest of the family and we purchased not only the refrigerator but Anthony helped us find the perfect outdoor grill and air-conditioner for our needs. None of them were the most expensive item in the store and we never felt pressured, instead we were properly educated. My wife and I eventually ordered the same appliances online and the delivery and service was what we are used to from PC Richard. Oshane definitely made me believe in PC Richard's service again. Absolutely the worst customer service. Rude and they hang up on you. Do not ever buy a warranty for appliances. They will service but it takes forever. I have been without my (now 2 year old) kitchen aid refrigerator/freezer for 17 days and have had to spend 3 separate days home waiting for service calls. The first man didn't know what was wrong, guessed and brought back/installed the wrong part. The next "specialist" said they have to gut the entire thing and replace and solder pipes etc so will take 3-4 hrs once parts are in! They don't know when this will be. Nobody is in a hurry and nobody cares that in 2019 I am living without refrigeration, with two young kids. Do not buy from PC Richard. Awful service with an attitude. I was looking for a specific refrigerator that I found on their website. When I called the store to see if they had it on display or in stock, I was rudely cut off with "what's the model number?". I replied that I didn't know and gave the make and model again. I was put on hold for 8 minutes and when they got back on the phone they again asked for the model number, to which I said "I thought they were looking that up". I was put on hold again for an extended amount if time, during which I used my phone to look at their site and found the model number in about one minute. I hang up and call back, and speak to another associate who said they "were looking through books for the model number". What? That's ridiculous. I finally spoke to the manager who was nice and reduced the price a little. I said I would be in later that afternoon. Before going in to buy the fridge I had to call and confirm when they would be able to deliver. I was put hold again for several minutes and then asked if I could be called right back, I said "sure" and gave my number. After 20 minutes of waiting for a call back, I called again and got another associate to look it up- which only took a minute. So I was ready to go buy the fridge at which point I was informed that they don't except checks. Well sears excepted my check and was nothing but courteous and helpful. My husband and I have purchased a number of major appliances and small electronics over the years and always picked up the longest extended warranty available, no up-sale needed. However this last time left us with a bad taste in our mouths and a hole in our kitchen. We went into the store looking for a new fridge, side by side doors, water dispenser and a height restriction. My mom offered to buy us a new one, we just had to let her know how much so we really were just browsing to get an idea of cost and then come back within a day or two, we told the sales person this multiple times. He kept suggesting we open a store card to pay for our purchase. We told him we had a store card already with a rather large line, but since we weren't the ones paying for it, we didn't want to use it. We found one we liked, so we tried to get an idea of the cost with the longest warranty they had and with/without the installation costs for the water line. Suddenly they only had 11 in stock and "they might sell out because it was a holiday weekend" (the one we were looking at wasn't even in the flyer for their sale, nor was it even on sale). So they NEEDED a deposit. We didn't really have the extra to give at the time, because they wanted 10% ($150). Then it was $100. Then it was "you can open a store card and pay the whole thing today!" At this point my husband was getting pretty angry at the salesperson and the sales manager for double teaming him. The salesperson brought up opening a store card AGAIN, not listening to us when we said we DID NOT want to use it. Finally they said we can take $50 as a deposit. I went back in 3 days to pay for the fridge plus 10 year warranty. I didn't really trust their delivery crew to be able to cut into my plumbing and run a line from my basement to the kitchen so we hired a licensed plumber to do the work, the price was comparable. Fast forward to delivery day, the crew brings in the fridge, starts getting it set up and moves the old one to our basement since we were keeping it. While they are getting things moved in the basement, I inspect the new fridge. In the inside of the fridge cabinet, in the top right corner in the back there are a series of puncture marks, all the way through the cabinet wall. They tried to tell me I purchased a floor model, I told them I didn't and if that's what their receipt said then the salesperson lied. So I refused the delivery, they wheeled it back out, damaging the front screen door at some point in the process. When they called in to dispatch we had to talk to the person on the other end, with a bit of an attitude she asked if we wanted money off or send a new one. I said that since I paid for undamaged merchandise, I wanted a new one. They set up delivery the next day. The next day they showed up late to their huge 5 hour "window". They start bringing it off the truck and reveal a huge scratch/dent on the side. Since it was not sliding between cabinets on both sides, that was going to be out there for everyone to see. He asked if we wanted money off I told him no, he can load it back on the truck, I was going back to the store to get my money back. The salesperson and another sales manager called shortly after to try an rectify the situation saying "they had never heard of this happening" and offering us to come to the warehouse to pick out one we wanted. No, I should have never receive damaged merchandise, items should be inspected by their warehouse crew prior to loading for the day's deliveries. So between the dreaded "typical" pushy salesman and sending damaged merchandise not once, but twice, we will be shopping elsewhere. read more
