Luckily I got some advice to make an appointment with Floor & Decor, and I'm so glad that I did. Markell listened to my thoughts and what I was looking for. He patiently explained the differences between products and gave me much needed insight. My contractor joined me during my appointment and helped too, Markell got that I was relying on my contractor to make some decisions for me, like do I want sanded or un-sanded grout. How would I know that? Markell never made me feel excluded. He never made me feel like he was man-splaining, which has happened to me plenty of times in home improvement stores. He even helped me load up my car. I really appreciated his kindness, patience and professionalism. I will definitely return to Floor & Decor, and I'd absolutely want to work with Markell again. However, you pretty much came this morning to harass me in my home - when I was showing you the issues with your work in the basement and you (especially Frank) kept saying you did "free work" for me and continued yelling after I asked you to stop saying that since I paid you in full for the agreed contract you provided for the work. Your behavior in my home this morning was very rude and disrespectful, and good thing I have it all on my home video cameras. At this point, I am demanding you return to complete the unfinished painting, drywall, and other work in my basement you were fully paid for - and without Frank this time, because i don't feel safe having Frank coming around my house disrespecting and harassing me. The metal piece is not well adhered (you could easily pull off) and the rusted holes on the side were not even filled patched to prevent water penetration. The on-site staff were super courteous, obviously loved what they do and care a lot about doing it right. Total Home quotes prices up front and strives to stick to that plan. Our project had some cost changes, but none were really surprises, because we were advised up front of places that things could get more (or less) complicated, and when that did happen, THI always talked with us about how to proceed before making any changes to plan. You have to sign off on contract cost changes. Overall, we love everything they did. We have future remodeling work planned and will absolutely contract with THI for it.

Due to a family emergency, the project needed to begin with urgency. Over the course of more than a month, there was constant back-and-forth communication, and the shower floor pitch was installed incorrectly twice. I also clearly communicated that my flooring contractor would address the trim. Despite this, I received a text message stating they intended to stop work mid-project, leaving me with a broken and unfinished shower floor. This situation has been extremely frustrating, as I am now forced to find and coordinate a new contractor to fix and complete the work. Please use caution when considering this company. In hindsight, I regret not going with my original contractor.
