After serving in the military for 30 years, living in numerous base quarters, and owning our first home in Virginia, we have finally settled into our forever home in Lake County. Our renovation journey started as a mixed bag. We dealt with a contractor located two hours away that broke a custom shower wall panel and delayed the project two weeks; a general contractor who was impossible to reach and kept us in the dark; and an overpriced cabinet designer who charged $17,000 for three vanities and tried to soften the blow by throwing in three "free" sinks. Frustrated, my wife and I decided to call Century Kitchens & Bath one afternoon. We spoke with Tiffany, our designer, and were completely open and honest about our budget. Long story short, we decided to give them a chance to remodel our kitchen--and WOOOOWWWWW! I couldn't believe how well-organized they are. Steve (Owner): An old-school, honest guy. As a military veteran, I would trust him with my life in a foxhole. Jason & Rich: Outstanding craftsmen with crazy attention to detail during the cabinet installation. Ethan: A genius at removing and repositioning appliances seamlessly before the reno. Chris: The Thomas Edison of electrical work. Nick: A magician when it comes to laying tile backsplash. The entire team felt like family by the end of it--mostly because they actually cleaned up before they left! (Most don't, especially electricians... wink wink). We had a kitchen remodel done in early 2021. The end result exceeded our expectations. Our designer, Randi, was amazing. All the crews were fantastic and really paid attention to detail. Every question we had was answered and any issues were resolved in a timely manner. We loved our kitchen so much that we had them remodel our master bathroom as well. This is my 2nd time using Century for a total kitchen and bath remodel. They also did many other remodeling around my house, ie added a sliding glass door where there was only a window before. Added crown molding throughout house. etc. They always amaze me with the ideas and knowledge!! Tiffany was so fun to work with. She was always very responsive to all my questions and concerns. She knows her stuff and gets to know the clients needs and wants. From the Plumbers to electricians to Steve and John..Everyone so friendly. They made me feel like we all knew each other forever!! Things to look out for when choosing a remodel company I was so excited to get started on our kitchen remodel. First it was just going to be the kitchen but turned out being our entire main floor plus some. The demo went amazing hardly any dust and things seemed to be running along great. I thought people always say this is horrible to live through, I was glad I felt like it was not going to be that way. Until things started slipping through the cracks, communication was a problem. Pretty soon I found myself making calls to follow up on what is next. You never knew if anyone was coming back the next day because scheduling was done the night before. Then things went to frustrating to worse, I am a reasonable person and know there will be bumps along the way. The way things were heading were not acceptable, the designer was fired. I started to work with Andrew the office manager/designer and thought things would be better, but soon he kept giving me the round around and could never give me a straight answer on questions I had or follow ups. There was a lot of punch list stuff left to do and months went by with no one coming. I can't even tell you how many times I had to follow up with Century Kitchens and Bath and got nowhere. Next I tried calling the Owner Steve he said he will be on site to make sure the job got done and done right. Well that was just as bad, everything he touched I had to have someone else come in behind him and fix his work. I had to point obvious stuff to him. Each time he was here he left his 87yr old father with dementia in the car with no heat, for hours. Just think wow if this is how he treats his father now wonder this job has gone to crap. So since this job started in July 2021 and still not done, we have had to do punch list stuff I had asked over and over to be completed and was not. A big hang up was some cabinet fronts had to be replaced which took 5 months to get, now I know things are taking a while but I believe they were never ordered by conversations I have had with Andrew. Finally got them after they dropped off at front door and we are installing well because no one ever follow up to install or come back to. Turns out they are not correct but we have to make due. But in the end Century Kitchens and Bath have walked away from this job unfinished. I would say the construction team was great and I do love my kitchen but make me sad too of all the trouble I have had. My advice is always check references verbally about how company did start to finish. And don't pay all the big money toward the front and middle spread it out more at the end. We spent over 50K on the remodel and it is horrible that Century Kitchens and Bath have walked away, there is no more money to be made here. All they care about is going where the money is.... I am never one to leave a bad review for any company let alone a company that is family owned and local, but sometimes things go so wildly wrong that you need to tell your story. Our kitchen was an insurance claim after a flood from our dishwasher that warped the floors and destroyed the cabinets. Our project started in fall 2020, we understand Covid stopped the industry in its tracks so the fact that it took from our start date in September until May to do our floors and finish our kitchen is somewhat understanding.... IF our cabinets hadn't been Mis measured and because of that we had to wait 8 weeks for a second set of cabinets to come in. Since then, One of our cabinets actually came off the wall and they came and "fixed" it but it has since come off the wall again, and we decided to pay someone else to do it for us properly. So they do guarantee their work, but if they don't do the work correctly you still have to have someone else come and do it for you. Fast forward to Christmas 2021. Our vinyl floor started popping up in places around where the flood was. They said they were never told to fix the sub floor by the insurance company (there was a flood soooo), and said they would fix it, BUT instead of fixing it right and repairing the 1/4 inch difference in the floor causing the tiles to come up, they just started to put flooring down in its place with no real fix. When we let them know this was not okay, they asked us to pay more and came up with another quote to send to the insurance company for just under $20,000. I can't even make this stuff up... it was like an unbelievable ask after we had trusted them to fix all of our flood damage and payed them way over what our insurance company offered in the first place for the entire job. Needless to say we did pay someone to fix it but it wasn't them. I am not litigious, I am not out to ruin anyone, I'm just a customer that really got at the very best poor service for a job that I overheard their manager say, "It's just an insurance job...." And that's exactly how we were treated. Again, I only write positive reviews for companies because I am not that person... but wow... we were fantastic, patient customers that really got taken advantage of over the course of two years for a project that should have taken six weeks tops. The company that fixed it for real did it practically for free because they felt so bad for us, and they completed it in two short days. I am sure others have had good experiences with this company, as they came highly recommended, but sadly we were really wronged by them. Buyer beware. read more

Terrible experience. More than a year to complete a bathroom remodel. Then they failed to do electrical to support a new bath steamer unit. Refusing to fix we had to hire electrician on our own. Tile grout was a mess and they never came back to fix. Warranty means nothing. Would never recommend Century Kitchens & Bath for any work. read more

We had Century Kitchens completely remodel our kitchen and mudroom in late spring/early summer 2017. Our designer, Tiffany, was very responsive to our calls and emails. She was on top of our every question. The calendar of months she generated for us was spot on. They don't work every day straight at the project, but they stayed with the calendar. We had a glitch regarding their misunderstanding our preference with some duct work during the project, but it was resolved. Both the kitchen and mudroom look really, really good, and the work was very neatly done. The guys they used to do our natural stone tile backsplash were excellent with the painstaking job of laying out the pattern, carefully considering each individual piece. After the project was finished, Century returned to resolve a problem we had with two of the recessed lights. It was extremely convenient having ONE company handle the whole project. Project management was simplified greatly. Some caveats: Be CLEAR with them on what you want and don't want done; it's YOUR house. Do your research ahead of time in terms of what colors, cabinet style, and look you want. They will do it in whatever colors, styles, etc. that YOU want. You just tell them what you want. Go with the highest quality cabinets they carry; we had to do so and even add many upgrades just to get what some other places would consider standard. Enjoy! Not pushy at all, very patient and willing to work with the homeowner. the guys that came to work were courteous and professional. Amazing experience. Not my first go around with a remodel job or building a home from scratch for that matter. But on the project I hired Century Kitchens and Bath for was a total gut job on my master bath. I had gotten more then 5 estimates. But what swayed me with Century was their creative input on the project. So I took the ideas they gave me and asked the former companies to give me an estimate on the project again. Now realize, I'm seasoned in this so I know the tricks companies can use to make it look like they are giving you a better price, but I didn't let that happen this time. I asked them to also give me the brand and style of cabinets, tile all the way down to the nitty gritty. No one came close to the cost of Century Kitchens. And one more big one for me, but did not know this when I hired them, but the mess was so contained. I really didn't think I would survive the mess. No other project in my past was as livable as this one and this one was huge. I love my new bathroom!I recommend them 100%! read more
