An employee named Sara behaved in an openly rude, hostile, and disrespectful manner. She spoke with clear attitude, used aggressive body language, and acted annoyed toward customers when they could not hear her. This was not normal "bad service" -- it was deliberate and unprofessional behavior. I was shopping with my autistic sister and my autistic daughter, and Sara's behavior directly caused my daughter to become overwhelmed and begin pancaking, a serious stress response in autistic individuals. Any employee working with the public should know better than to escalate a situation involving a child with disabilities. To make matters worse, Sara made an incorrect and unfounded accusation, which only increased stress and embarrassment for my family. This crossed a line. When I spoke with another employee, I was told this is not the first time and that her attitude toward customers is a known issue. This is not just poor customer service -- it is a pattern of behavior that Ross management needs to address immediately. Customers with disabilities deserve respect, patience, and basic human decency. I strongly urge store management and corporate to review this incident, address this employee's conduct, and ensure proper customer service and disability-awareness training. Ignoring this kind of behavior puts Ross at risk of losing customers and trust.

They are a billion times cleaner than the Ross down the way, and the selection is much better as well. The only lacking part is customer service, but always expect to fend for myself in these types of stores. On my most recent trip, the girls in the fitting room were very friendly and cheerful (which is a rarity,) but the individual behind the register was lacking these qualities.

They have so many name brand & designer goods, for much better prices than in those actual stores. Of course, there are still a lot of prices that are pretty high- clothing for $100 or more, shoes $150 and so on. But again, they'd cost even more shipping directly through those brands so you have to think of trade offs. They have a little bit of everything here too. A huge section of all kinds of clothing, a quarter of the store is aisles and aisles of shoes; there is a big section of designer purses, perfumes, sunglasses, jewelry, hair supplies and toiletries/ skincare stuff. There's a nice men's section that has a shelf of watches, ties, suit pieces and other things. Even a small home goods section. If you have kids there's a section for them too. Definitely a good mix of different stuff, and for a lot of good prices if you're willing to take time to look around!

Palm Center is most easily passed by and ignored. There are tons of strip mall/ centers in Lakeland…read morelike mostly any city, so this one doesn't particularly stick out upon first glance. But recently I've found myself visiting Palm Center a lot more often. It's actually got quite a lot going for it. At this strip you can get in a workout (Plant Fitness), eat some sushi or sandwiches (New Moon Sushi & Subway), get car essentials (NAPA), office & house essentials (Staples & Big Lots), get your haircut (Lakeland Barber), go to church (Access Church), or get your alcohol restock (ABC Liquors). You can also get a nice pre or post workout, church or shopping juice or smoothie from Juice Box, go shopping at the Christian Bookstore, get your taxes taken care of at H&R Block, or hit up the consignment store. Oh, and there's a Cici's Pizza if you don't want sushi or a sub. I still haven't named all of the businesses in this complex, but you can see my point right? The only unfortunate thing is that despite the range of Palm Center, it's really not well maintained. A lot of it seems to be nearly falling apart and dirty especially on the outside. We've all been there, still are there, or will be there in the near future. I love me some Target, like most women. It's overall a pretty great store- they have cute and affordable clothes, a ton of home decor/ furniture, usually a good amount of food and produce, pharmacy and more. Going on a random trip to stroll through Target is a fantastic use of an hour or two. This is one of two Targets in Lakeland, and is the south location. It's generally a super nice location, as most Targets are known to be. It's the one I frequent, but I do think the north Lakeland Target is the superior store. This south Target has a really random and small selection of produce, and they just never seem to have the overall stock that the north store does. They are out of random things at random times, so you can almost never conveniently get all you need in one stop if you are doing all your grocery shopping there. Otherwise, this store is awesome. They have a Starbucks, which can be nice if you want a caffeine/ sweet fix. The workers have always been so friendly in my experience, especially Miss Cheryle- she's a star, and deserves some high praise for how sweet she is!

I think it's a little bit smaller but similar layout and stores. What I didn't like the most is how dark it was. I don't think that's so safe. It was early enough to where there was at least two more hours of shopping before stores closed yet really dark. It's been about 10 years since I've been here, and it seems to look about the same as that time. They did have a Christmas tree in the center. That at least brightened the place up a bit. The stores off hand that I recall where Bath and Body, Kirkland's, a boutique with country ware, a Thai restaurant, a Vietnamese restaurant, BD's Mongolian BBQ which I was surprised to see, & a Grillsmith. They also had a movie theater and a book store. Those were some of the stores off hand. There were also a handful of empty spaces. The parking was free along the inside of the mall street parking where we parked. The Best Part Was Seeing the Bloom Mural!

When I brought this to the attention of the store staff, I was casually told that due to the security issues, they could not verify my address. WHAT?? I've already shared today's experience with several friends who worked in retail for years. If the store's policy is to not verify a mailing address in the store, for billing purposes, than somebody needs to make some phone calls (which I will). Besides the aforementioned affront, this store is drab and uninspiring. Their merchandise is limited and their sales help below standard. I was pretty impressed on my first visit, they really have a lot here. Even their shoes have some highly regarded brands like Jordan, Nike, Adidas, etc. I've found some pretty nice stuff I wear a lot and got for a ridiculously low price. Something that's also cool about Platos is you have the opportunity to donate your own clothes and they will pay you cash if they want anything. In the past at other locations this has worked fairly well for me, so I decided to try it again here after cleaning out my closet. My friend and I took almost a full bin of stuff there to try and sell. I was hoping we'd at least make maybe $30 with what we had, because we had some good brands that Platos is known for selling, like American Eagle, Loft, Victoria's Secret and more.. You check in to sell stuff all online and that went smoothly, but when we came back, they took 2 things. 2 things out of an entire bin, and gave us $7 for them. I was stunned. It seemed pretty ridiculous to me. I will probably never try to sell clothes here again because they probably won't take anything nor will I get a price that's even worth the few items they may want. Another issue is the workers. I read reviews of Platos prior to coming and so many of them complained about the workers. I tried coming in unbiased to see if maybe I'd have a different opinion, but unfortunately I did not. It's just a lot of young kids there to get a check, and they are pretty unprofessional and rude. It's all very unfortunate because the idea of Platos Closet- buying and selling cool brands second hand at really affordable prices- is such an awesome mission and I love it. But locations like this where the workers are disrespectful really bring down the name Platos has worked so hard to build. I'll probably still come back here once in a while and sift through stuff because the prices just can't be beat, but I am mightily disappointed at the overall experience every time here.
