Top Buttons is my new favorite store! I lost 30 pounds (after a recent illness) and found so many…read morewonderful clothes here! Dresses, shorts, pants, blouses, sweaters, jeans, you name it! Plus, the money goes to charities that help empower young woman. I will be cleaning out my closet and bringing my larger sizes (some brand new), so that others can find the same joy I have had here. I usually go on Saturday during the Farmers Market and park just a block away. I purchased a Top Buttons reusable bag but you can bring your own, purchase one there or just carry out the clothes! The staff could not be more helpful, the store very clean. The more upscale clothing (think Ann Taylor Loft, Brooks Brothers, Gap, etc) are in the front and the rest of the clothing in the back where the four dressing rooms are located. They also have days where they send out text to say fill up a bag for $50 or 25-50% off all of your purchases, etc. All great deals! They also have stores in Bartow and Winter Haven. Go, have fun and bring a friend!

I had to return some things I bought online at "Aerie". I wanted to exchange them for a different…read moresize. Aerie couldn't let me return my items at this particular store. FYI, Aerie is the sister store to American Eagle Outfitters. I was told I had to return them to American Eagle Outfitters instead, it being Aerie's store policy. Their website is for both Aerie and American Eagle Outfitters stores, so I'm not sure this is convenient for the consumer to have to return items at a different store. Off to American Eagle, where the manager was having register troubles. I was using a credit card. The manager kept getting a reading "DECLINED". Funny that the register "Declined" to give me a refund. LOLZ. The poor guy apologized profusely, all the while trying to fix it. Then he phoned Corporate to ask them what to do to fix his register so it could work properly. What Corporate told him to do didn't work! He told me this has been happening on his registers for 3 days and Corporate is not interested in helping him. He wasn't happy about it and kept apologizing for taking so much of my time. I said it was okay! Finally, the manager ended up getting frustrated and gave me cash instead of crediting my Card.

Went in and we were met with a helpful employee right away. She took his measurements with a sample scrub outfit for sizing. Once that was done we told her the school paid for them and was informed they would call when they were ready 3-5 days, we'll they called on the 3rd day, super quick turnaround. They called, came in picked up and left. Nice easy process, especially when we had never done any of it before. They walked us through the whole thing and we did not have any challenges throughout the entire process thanks to Meg's Medical Scrubs!!!

The moment I walked in with my friend we were met with eyes. We were interested in all of the beautiful products they had, and had so much fun looking around, but we were being followed the entire time. There was 2 women and a man following us all over the place, staring at everything we picked up. Every time we walked in their direction to ask for help, they would walk away from us. They also intensely stared at us when we got to the jewelry section. I even made eye contact with one of the ladies since her eyes never moved from us. I understand a store owner's reasoning for keeping an eye on customers, but please be mindful of how often you are checking up on them. About 10 mins into our visit, a gentleman came up to us and started to lightly joke about our "boyfriends spoiling us" and speaking about how our boyfriends should treat us and having relationships with them. We started to feel uncomfortable since this gentleman was pressing into our personal life and guiding us towards the register. We did not get a chance to choose anything else to purchase, which is very disappointing since they had such beautiful jewelry options. Since we were specifically looking for bookmarks, I was trying to ask for some help. I asked the gentleman 3 times "Excuse me sir, I have a question." He just continued to ignore me and walked us to the register, while consistently talking about relationships with men. We both felt very uncomfortable and did not enjoy our visit. I do not want to believe that our experience was due to us being Hispanic women, since I want to look at the positive side of our visit. The store had some beautiful items for a high value, and the layout was nice. I hope other customers have a better experience than what we did, and I hope we can have a better experience if we ever do return in the future.

This is antiquing and vintage shopping at its finest, with a combination of many local merchants selling their goods in different stalls throughout the large space. Because there are many merchants represented here, the pricing can be extraordinarily inexpensive in some stalls while a bit overpriced in others. But overall, the pricing is pretty fair. I love looking through each stall and finding little treasures you just can't find anywhere else. On this trip, I found what I was looking for - a milk glass pedestal bowl - but it was a little overpriced compared to the previous thrift shop I had seen it at, so I passed on it. But my favorite time to shop at the Mercantile is just before the holidays. They always have such lovely and unique gifts for my family and friends (and myself). The staff at the cash register are always so friendly and pleasant. And they make the experience even more delightful.
