I went in to this TJMaxx/Homegoods store and was blown away with the presentation of the store! Right away I saw bright lights, and immediately went right which took me to a large selection of lamps and attractive lighting. I kept walking and was impressed, from beautiful area rugs and room decor to basic kitchen necessities-this store truly had it all. After circling the store and regaining my focus, I asked an associate where I might be able to find a mousepad-she not only walked me to the aisle she thought might have it, but sifted through a few stacked items to find the ONLY one they had-then talked to me for a minute as I shared how wonderful the store was. This really is one of the best Home Goods around. It's extremely full of stock- but not in a bad way. Weekends get very busy here, so I recommend going early if you can, or during the week. They will also help you load your car if needed- which is nice. Colors seem to be either fully stocked or not stocked at all (ie you're looking for red, but they have mostly blue decor), which is the only downside. I recommend going with an open mind and not necessarily with a specific goal/full vision if you're looking to decorate a whole room. Overall, highly recommend. read more

Maybe it's just because I haven't been to a T.J. Maxx in a really long time but this particular location seemed huge! As far as I could tell, there was a good combination of clothing and other homeware items. They had a lovely collection of soaps and shoes. I returned home with an eclectic collection of goods that included a pan, toffee peanuts, a pair of shoes, a soap dispenser, and more. I probably could've spent more time here as there were sections that I hadn't checked out but I'm glad I left when I did since I tend to pile up on random little goodies all too often... read more

Always has the best selection of unique foods, teas, and spices. They are a home goods store so they have a ton for your home and the selection is constantly changing. Pretty decently priced. You can also get drink mixers here that are cheaper than at a liquor store or Walmart. Definitely a great place to find unique items at a cheap price read more

Plus: This is a Home Goods store as well as TJ Maxx, so that's fun. Lots to look at. Downside: Almost everything else. The men's clothing selection is super limited- my hubby almost never finds anything. The women's section always has a lot of merchandise, but just never the best stuff. I almost never find clothing at this location. The management here is also a joke. They weren't able to help me return an item that I received as a gift, even though it was damaged, because the manager said it was no longer in the system? Ummm... the price tag was attached. Certainly if one is running a store, there should be some brain capacity to come up with a solution. Zero customer service. Will definitely shop at the new Gurnee location, which has great staff or just head to Northbrook. This stop isn't worth it. read more

OMG I was in heaven at this store!! I've been to quiet a few TJ Maxx stores and this one is by FAR the best one within a 30 mile radius from Wheeling, IL. Plus the store is ginormous! Everything is so clean and organized, comes in many sizes and there is soooo much variety of brand named clothes, purses and shoes at a huge discount. The athletic department for women was HUGE. There was a division between shorts, capris, pants.... Then there was a division by brand, and a clearance section for all... I've never seen such an organization at other TJ Maxx athletic departments! The dress section was also VERY impressive. Very stylish pieces, and all looked expensive (let's be honest discount stores sometimes carry very cheap crappy clothes, not this location!). The Junior tops were NICE... at the TJ maxx and junior tops are cheap and thin and look like they come from a thrift store... Not here! I do have to say the jeans/shorts department was a bit poor for juniors department, but it was filled with stylish and high brands in the women's department. Ok the shoes were probably my favorite! There was a there reorganizing the sections and he chatted me up and he explained that this location received about 650 new pairs of women's shoes daily... WHAT?!? I am no shoe store expert but that seems like a LOT... AND most of the shoes were either leather, and/or a high brand. They have a huge selection of BCBG shoes, steve maddens, coach, and other high brands. This location is a bit of a drive from my house, but I must say I'll for sure be coming back here, it's worth the drive!! read more

So I admit it. I love a good deal. Most of it stems from believing you don't have to spend a lot to have your home look like the pages of a (fill in favorite home store here) catalog. I recently moved into a much larger apartment than the one I was in previously. About a 350 square foot increase. I had some core pieces but found I needed a few things here and there to make my place a little less sparse. Marshalls/TJMaxx/Homegoods (all owned by the TJX companies) is perfect for serving platters, dishes and those items that you usually wouldn't buy at all if they were more expensive. I was getting ready to throw my first dinner party and found I had no serving trays or even over-sized plates and bowls. I went to Homegoods, spent 40 dollars or so and walked out with bags of stuff. Don't count on all your items matching exactly, or being able to find complete set of more than four. Bed linens. You can get set of high thread count sheets for half the price you would pay elsewhere. They also offer a huge arrange of thrown pillows in beautiful fabrics with trims and patterns starting at only $9.99 up towards $30.00. Which for pillows with trims and such is a great deal. Wall hangings, mirrors, lamps, art work, photo frames, etc. Definitely requires some digging to find good stuff, but worth it. I am currently working on collecting frames for a wall in my place to fill with random photographs and didn't want to spend a ton of money. I was also going for an aged/antique look. This is the place to go. Embellished and ornate frames start at 3 or 4 dollars a pop and 15 for over-sized frames. Kitchen stuffs. I have started using the silicon bake ware by Kitchen Aid and found it was horribly expensive, but I've been pleased by how it works. I found pieces to match the rest of my set starting at 5.99 for a 9 x 9 square pan. You can find miscellaneous kitchen utensils, pots and pans and even glassware. I've found so many good deals here. I love the home goods section. I've found nice bake ware, tea/coffee, pasta, dish towels, knick-knacks... I've found beautiful blankets, sheets and items for the bathroom. Sometimes even clothing and stationery. And if you can get it on clearance, it is even better! Wow...overstuffed with inventory! Always something to find, need to dig through everything. I would think with this inventory and whats in the back, they would open their own stand-alone store. I wish i could give 5 stars, but the walk-ways are packed with carts and you can almost never walk through most of the store. Incredibly messy and rarely anyone to ever help (or clean up the mess). If they could get more space, clean up and have a few more people working, then this could be a home run! read more

Line took forever because people like to chat. I understand having worked in retail the "costumer is always right." However this doesn't mean start a lengthy conversation with the person you're ringing up that lasts forever about absolutely nothing. If you want to have a full on conversation with a costumer, do it on your own time. I shouldn't have to wait an extra 15-20 minutes in line (when I'm the first in line) because you have the same taste in towels. Train your people to say "excuse me, we have a line forming." And then keep it moving. And the costumer wasn't completely at fault. The cashiers were just shooting the s#*t. Noticing a LONG line is waiting. You're less likely to anger that costumer than the 10 plus people just waiting to make a purchase. Went out of our way to go to this particular tjmaxx, so all I feel is that I wasted a lot more of my time than necessary. read more

This is by far the best store I have been to! Super clean well kept. Shelves were stocked. What really blew my mind and made me review was the staff. The best Custer service I have ever had in any store. The line was kept at a well moving pace and the cashier made great conversation. The manager even stopped each register to check in. I was in the store about a week ago and while the store does have nice things it is not worth it to me. The female manager is so nasty to the employees it's disgusting!! First off raising your voice at your employees is pathetic and shouldn't happen. But if it does do it behind closed doors. This young lady being yelled at looked so frazzled I felt very badly for her she doesn't deserve that. The young lady was very sweet to me too. you can find some deals on clothes, if you have the time to really sift thru things. the price for home decor and furniture is very high though, so, I would only buy clothes here. I thought I could find some things for my home, but was mistaken, as there are other store selections, that are more reasonably priced. I liked some of their things, don't get me wrong, but the value just was not there for me. it's clean, bright, and inviting there, but, overall, I could get more for my money elsewhere. read more
