We love this amazing restaurant Great welcoming and cheerful staff and every plate is a flavor masterpiece

My wife and I enjoyed Lunch Saturday with a Ruben sandwich with fries at the Homemade Cafe! Good selection of food at reasonable prices and a cute decor with friendly staff!

Pretty good food.. The Service was pretty good too. We sat outside and there is bees so be careful there. The burger was good. Price is a little high, but typical for this day and age

I will give four star because the staff were kind but they are not prepared for a full house of customers. This is more like a family run with returning customers rather than out of towner for an event. They have breakfast until 11 which was what I wanted but ended up getting a lunch option. There are tons of dessert with huge portions. The regular potion was pretty big too and the price is decent for the local business.

We read about the goodness of Homemade Cafe in the Star Tribune featuring places to eat at while enjoying the fall colors. It is a beautiful and relaxing drive from the cities to Pepin, WI. This cozy, little restaurant was busy! It is a popular spot. The servers were very friendly and the hospitality was top notch. My husband ordered a chicken fried steak and he and my daughter both liked it. I ordered a Mediterranean omelet and assumed it was a veggie omelet. My omelet had chicken in it, I didn't like it. My daughter ordered the corned beef hash. The hash was too heavy for her and as I said she ate dad's chicken fried steak. She also requested scrambled eggs but they came out as fried eggs. The sour dough toast and buttermilk pancakes were a hit amongst everyone. May try again for lunch.

I stopped here for lunch during a motorcycle ride. The servers were fantastic and upbeat, and their recommendation of the chicken salad sandwich on cranberry wheat bread was delicious. I also had a slice of caramel apple pie which was very good as well. The inside of the restaurant is full of small town charm. Five star service and food!

Bang up burger is exactly that.... BANG UP!

Not only does this place have the small town charm of cute homemade signs and other handmade items for sale but the two ladies waiting tables were AWESOME. On top of their game, always ready with fresh coffee and within earshot for any of your needs. They had recommended the bang up burger which was filling and DELICIOUS and a special prime rib sandwich which came complete with au jus! Patty, owner, was personally greeting a new comer to town when we were in. And they said hello to a group of ladies calling them all by name. This is the type of place we need in every town across Wisconsin. I felt blessed to patronize this small business, as everything was spot on. Delicious food. Welcoming team. Cozy, country diner feel. All around amazing! Highly recommend from an "out of towner" passing through. Now, off to the Tin Roof Boutique!

Always delicious food. I especially like the Friday fish fry but biscuits and gravy is a pretty good choice too.

Service was fantastic the whole time. We were never left wanting for anything, and drinks and food came out at a perfect pace. We started off with drinks and the dill cheese curds appetizer. I was very happy that they had four ciders available, and I went with the pear choice, which turned out to be Magner's. The curds were fantastic, with loads of dill in the crisp breading. The curds had a perfect pull and squeak. My kid had the fettucine alfredo and rated it as "very good." (He also enjoyed the leftovers the next day). My husband had the smothered ribeye sandwich and requested no mushrooms. He had fries on the side. He said this is one of the best ribeye sandwiches he's ever had. I had the fish tacos, and wow, they were delicious. It included two tacos, and each one had two massive, very hot fish nuggets. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh. I had my choice of side and went with coleslaw, which was good. Note that this is a brewery, but they had none of their beers available during our visit because they had just transferred to new ownership. Based on our experience, we definitely need to return when they have their own beers on tap again and then we can try more of their food, too!

Lots of memorabilia from long defunct breweries. My Bloody Mary was excellent as were my fish tacos. There are multiple options for pescatarians though probably a bit more challenging for vegans, which is not unusual in this part of the world. While we visited their onsite brewing was on hiatus because they need to be re-licensed after the ownership change. Looking forward to that happening!

We also loved our fish tacos and linguini with scallops (I absolutely loved the crushed red pepper that came with it too!). Our food all paired nicely with their extensive cocktail/drinks menu, which included many different breweries and distilleries. This is one of those restaurants you'll remember visiting forever--definitely come visit if you can!

They also have very affordable NA drinks as well as local pops with unique flavors like butterscotch root beer. The real draw of this place is their whole pay what you can concept which allows anyone of any budget to enjoy this place. With the three entrees, appetizer, and 3 drinks we decided to pay about $70 for 4 people to encompass both taxes and gratuity.
