What a cute little spot. They have different types of of coffee and ice cream! The inside is so adorable. There is places to sit inside that has a comfortable atmosphere and nice wood tables out front. The staff is very friendly. If your in this area I suggest to give it a try

Growing pains ... can cause a pot to break! Hopefully they have worked out the kinks. Will consider trying again some day.

The bakery staff are friendly and even though there is often a long line, they get you through it so quickly. The prices are a little on the high side but it is a treat to visit and worth the splurge. Go earlier in the day for the most choices. The decor is so fun and full of town history including benches from Red Wing pottery, old shops from town, and even old bakery equipment. They also have a small deli that has more lunch choices and a coffee shop with gourmet options or just a simple cup of self-serve coffee with about a dozen flavor options. It is a wonderful place to sit around and visit while enjoying your sweet treats. We stop almost every time we are in town and even make the trip on some lazy Saturday mornings from the Cities, They have won many awards and one trip will explain why. If you haven't been there yet, give it a try!

The two of us opted for the grandest option of All You Can Eat, which included a choice of potato, shrimp, and the salad bar. The salad bar area is small and rather crammed to the side of a back dining room, but it absolutely delighted me. There were rolls and butter pats, and a whole array of salads that felt like the same mix you'd find at a great Midwest potluck. I sampled several, but I absolutely LOVED the broccoli bacon salad and the Snickers salad! My husband opted for the simple lettuce salad with croutons. Service was consistently slow during our visit, just as a matter of timing--they looked short-staffed during the lunch rush, and the workers were being run off their feet! They were moving nonstop. I had broiled fish with shrimp and a baked potato. Perfectly cooked, flavorful fish. I loved the breading on the shrimp. I had butter and sour cream along with my potato. I didn't get seconds. My husband had the standard fried fish, shrimp, and fries, and really enjoyed them, and he did request a few more pieces of fish. They came out, piping hot. I want to come back here sometime and try the pie!

Wonderful Food, Friendly & Attentive Staff/Owners, Great Dining Room, Great Experience…read more We were greeted at the curb before we could even enter. Nice! All of the above apply, and I could go on further. If this fits your budget, just book a reservation and treat yourself.

Drove an hour to this supposedly special restaurant for our anniversary for their bbq rib special…read more Our entire experience was poor starting 5 minutes before our reservation time. We arrived 5 minutes early for our 5:00pm reservation and were told we needed to wait outside because they were having a meeting (it was 94 degrees outside). We then waited until 5:03pm when we were finally let in (now we are sweating profusely). Btw, when we were walking up they had just let others in and they were seated when we entered. Bad start, but we were hopeful our meal would be great. We were seated at the bar (per our reservation) and were handed one menu for the two of us. Our primary server was the bartender, who was quite kind but was in a tough spot with the owner watching her every move and ridiculing her right in front of us. They had no greens on their limited menu so we asked if they had any sort of side salad, but were ignored. We also asked if the ribs came with a vegetable; the owner did not know and said she would check with the chef. She never returned with an answer. The soup was good, the rest was below average. We ordered the focaccia which came in a brown paper bag and stapled?? The rib plate contained 3 ribs (which were dry, not very big and had little sauce). The ribs came with wasabi mashed potatoes, but there was no wasabi flavor to be found. If you are going to have a limited menu with one item, it better be really good - it was not. The owner made it a habit of asking everyone how their food was and before you could answer she would answer "yummy?" for you. Not only annoying, but it was obvious she did not really want to know. We almost felt like our presence was an inconvenience to the owner. Needless to say, we will not be back, nor will our dozens of friends who will hear about our experience. It was very disappointing!!

The place we were going to go was closed, so we crossed the street to find the Red Wing Café. This is one of those places that you discover by happy accident and are thrilled that luck made it possible. It's also one of those places that I wished was in MY neighborhood in Minneapolis so I could be a regular. The place was warm and cozy, even in February. Although it was packed, we scored a table. It has all day breakfasts and my wife ordered the pecan Belgian waffle. I was more than amazed that it was served with a bottle of pure maple syrup from a place in nearby Wisconsin. Real maple syrup is usually an upcharge in most restaurants these days. It was all the crispy and gooey goodness that you could hope for. All of the breakfasts at the tables around us looked great, so I started to regret my choice of the hot turkey sandwich I ordered with fries (as a substitute for the mashed potatoes). My regret turned to joy because this was one of the best hot turkey sandwiches I've had, and believe me, I've had many! The turkey slices was thickly carved, juicy, and fresh. The gravy, which is usually the downfall, was absolutely wonderful. Not too salty and perfectly flavored. My mouth is watering as I'm typing this! The fries were hot and crispy. Even the coffee was great. I know where we are eating the next time we visit Red Wing.

I ordered the French toast. It arrived barely warm, and after almost finishing the first slice... I found a hair. The other meal went like this: "I'll have the soup, salad, and bread." "What kind of soup?" we asked. "The soup of the day," the server replied. We looked at each other and thought, Okay... surprise soup. "So what are the bread choices?" (Thinking breadsticks, garlic toast, something...) "It's like toast." "Okay... wheat toast then." The meal arrived: Soup was cold and looked like Campbell's Chunky Soup. Salad was warm, consisting of iceberg lettuce and a quarter slice of tomato. Wheat toast was cold. Crackers were stale. Needless to say, neither of us finished our meals. I politely pointed out the hair to the server. Her response? "Oh... do you want me to have them make another one?" Ummm... no. Then came the bill: about $24. Nothing was taken off. No discount. No real apology until I mentioned paying full price for a meal with a hair in it. Then, to top it all off, they asked if we wanted a to-go box. For what,, the hair!! At that point, all we could do was laugh. It was honestly one of the most unbelievable dining experiences I've ever had.
